Bed 8.2 FBG 7.8. BGs are still high but yesterday I was snuffly and my arms were agony. Felt as if they were very heavy and sore. Thankfully, that's passed too. I still seem to be relapsing but the periods are getting shorter and less severe. Who know, one of these days I might manage to get an antibody test but there again....
@DJC3 - I did laugh at your sleep talking experience. I guess she was greeting you during the night rather than "every morning". @Chook - one of my former colleagues had a baby boy that slept with his eyes open which was very creepy looking. You don't, however, want to tell someone their baby looks creepy
B. Yesterday - slice toasted LC bread with ham and coleslaw. TAG.
L. Nothing - went out for cream.
D. It was going to be chicken parmigiana but oddly I'd only put one chicken breast in the cooked dish which Hubby claimed so, as there was plenty sauce, I made a "pizza omelette". Cooked my omelette in the usual way, puffed it up under the grill and then spread the surplus tomato, mozzarella, oregano sauce over - there we go, pizza omelette! Has it with wilted spinach and a few veggie chips. 4 strawberries.

@Annb - glad to know I am no longer the sole owner of the giant egg slicer. I've used it for cheese, avocado and Hubby has used it on banana.

I'm planning to use it with avocado, mostly. It might be useful for the softer Italian cheese I bought, the name of which escapes me for the moment.

On the odd occasion when Neil was ill, as a child, he would sleep with his eyes half open. As you say - creepy looking.

One of our dogs often sleeps with his eyes open (Jack) and I thought that was creepy but to have your child sleep with eyes open would be really weird!

I need to add to my today's food the snack I had while watering the garden - half a dozen raspberries and a handful each of mangetout, sugar snaps, yellow French beans and FINALLY a couple of ripe tiny tomatoes.- all straight off the plants warm from the sun.

@maglil55 sorry you’re still struggling. You might be interested in this before investing (financially or mentally) in an antibody test (speaking from experience here): https://twitter.com/profkarolsikora/status/1284784976286879744?s=21

Breakfast was extra thick double cream and almond butter.
Lunch was a delicious T-bone steak and
Dinner was a few slices of corned beef with Red Leicester cheese and pickled onions followed by extra thick double cream and 1 x 25g bar of Aldi Moser Roth 85% chocolate broken into small pieces.

@Goonergal - I've been following the Prof. With interest. I found a long term Covid group on Facebook and, weird though it sounds, it's reassuring to find over 7000 people in the same boat. Some have tested postive, some have tested positive for antibodies but a high proportion are like me (and probably @Annb too) never having had a test but suspected that we probably have had it. GPs are starting to take these cases seriously now. Apparently, unless you test within a specified timescale the test will come back negative. I'm just relieved the duration of the relapses are getting shorter and less severe.
Today - Sunday Bed 8.4 FBG 7.9. BGs still high but at least they are dropping back to more normal levels during the day.
B. TAG and a slice of LC Toast with ham and coleslaw.
L. 3 GF crackers with salmon pate.
D.usual campari and soda and I had a wee prosecco as well. Chicken Balmoral with a Diane sauce, cabbage and bacon, mini cob and mushrooms. Will probably have 4 strawberries and a scoop of Halo Top strawberry cheesecake ice cream (which looks a bit more carb friendly).

@Goonergal - OMG! A Godiva shop. I got a Sainsburys delivery today and regrettably 2 vars of Godiva 90% crept into my online basket. I will resist until I feel fully recovered to enjoy it.

@Chook & @Annb - this baby had eyes wide open!

Before my daughter was born I did some research on what you feed babies transitioning from milk to solids. One of the recommendations was lambs hearts and carrots pureed - it was her favourite. (And another recommendation was sweetbreads..... ewwww). I wonder if young mums feed their little ones those sorts of unusual things nowadays?
I very much doubt it. I made meals for our son and pureed them. That's when we got used to less salt in our food. I did it mainly because I thought the bought food was horrid. My DIL also cooked a lot for our 2 grandsons (as did I) but I find it more common to see kids with a pack of crisps, sweets or worse a Greg's sausage roll!

Evenin’ All,

third day in a long and lovely 3 day weekend.

B: busy morning, so I forgot to eat
L: forgot to eat
D: did some goulash and LC baking (peanut butter cookies and brownies) which made me realise I hadn’t eaten. So I had goulash and the last of the gammon crackling.

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries and cream washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: black coffee and Mississippi phd bar.

Dinner: roast chicken, one tiny roast potato, carrots, peas and gravy made from meat juices thickened with flax seed, followed by SF jelly, cream and LC chocolate granola.

B: nothing
L: 90 sec mug bread with 30g maasdam cheese
D: cooking for neighbours so roast lamb, carrots, cabbage, green beans from garden. I had1 teaspoon stuffing 1 tiny roast potato and 1 small Yorkshire, which I would usually be alright on but today added some rhubarb cooked with strawberries and 1 tablespoon sugar between 10 portions, added 2 teaspoons of crumble topping to mine. Throw in couple small glasses red and bg rose after 2 hours to 95 and after 3 to 9.7.
I assume adding it all together was too many carbs all at one time. But is was very tasty and so nice to enjoy with company for the first time in months

Very early morning for me - three hours earlier than usual. I woke up in a bit of a tizz thinking there was something I had forgotten to do - then within seconds of being wide awake I'd forgotten what it was that I'd forgotten to do. I'll probably remember once I get in bed tonight!

Breakfast: Omelette with carb free syrup (blueberry and lavender)
Lunch: trying to do without
Dinner: fennel and goats cheese crustless quiche (home made) with salad

I'm catching up again. Been a bit "off" again. My favourite lamb shank recipe is Tom Kerridge's lamb shank madras. I did it in the IP.

https://www.bbcgoodfoodme.com/recipes/lamb-shank-madras/

This looks great thank you. I did search the BBC good food app as I’ve found they are usually reliable recipes and often easily low carbed. Didn’t see this one though.
Sorry to hear you’ve been off again. Is it your legs?

Went out for dinner last night my Goodness it felt good going out for dinner at a restaurant with other people . I wanted a steak but they run out do decided I have grilled fish and salad but discovered the fish had onion seasoning and I'm allergic to onions so the waitress had a menu list which indicates ingredients allergies and ended up having swordfish with roasted vegetables was ok but really wanted the steak.

Breakfast this morning bacon and fried eggs on toast black coffees

Dinner was going to have soup but was still craving a steak so went up the road and brought a rump steak. Still made chicken vegetable soup but grilled rump steak as well and had that for dinner. Soup will be for tomorrows dinner. It's a bit chilli tonight temperature surposed to be 6° and checked temperature app and it say feels like 4° so jacked up my heater whilst watching masterchef Australia whilst warming up In my Pjs.

Sorry to hear you are struggling I've read a few articles on people who got covid-19 and although they should be over it every now and again the feel extremely fatigued and out of breath then get back to normal and relapsing again. I do hope things settle down for you though x

Yesterday's food
19.07.2020
Not really any proper meals
CWC x 2
Couple of hours later, cold sausage.
Grazed on cherry tomatoes.
Ham slice rolled round rocket and coleslaw.
Cup of tea
Few mangetout from the garden.
Some of @MrsA2 cauliflower cheese bread.
Might have to stop making that. It's too irresistible.
Another cold sausage
And another
Few more cherry toms. So tasty and right outside the door.
Large piece of brie.
Several glasses of wine throughout the day.

Soup for breakfast after FBG of 5.8 - that's good for me but by the time I got to breakfast, it was 8.8. Currently 9.5. And worse, it may be too many veg. I'm beginning to feel it.

Might have 3 meals today. If so, lunch will be scrambled eggs and dinner will be mushrooms with some bacon. Unfortunately my v shopper bought smoked streaky bacon this week and smoked is something I don't usually like (except fish) but I'll make something of it to get it used up.

I wonder if my continuing fatigue is something to do with covid still hanging on, or if it is something else that needs to be dealt with. I still seem to be spending about 6 hours a night asleep and another 4 or so during the day.

@SlimLizzy we get snakes here too. Mainly grass snakes but adders as well. Over the years they have expanded their territory from just being on the nearby moor to now occasionally being found in people's gardens. They absolutely terrify me!

Why Chook? Did you have a nasty experience with one?
I have rat phobia, sometimes dormant, that was started by an incident in my childhood.
We had guinea pigs, I went to feed them after school, the bag of food was lying on it's side, I didn't think why, just put my hand in to get food and actually grabbed hold of a rat.
Cue screaming and panic, parents and brother shocked. Vicious pursuit of said animal and lifelong aversion.

Ewwww I don't like rats either. Getting rid of rats and/or deterring them was a constant battle when I used to keep the poultry.

We've lived here 20 years and in that time I've known five (smallish) dogs be killed by adders and quite a few bigger dogs that have been bitten so its always been a worry that one of mine might be bitten while out on a walk. I understand the anti venom is quite effective but the nearest vet that carries it is about 15 miles away and the dog would be in dreadful pain until it has the anti venom and recovery isn't quick. They are supposed to be timid but at this time of the year they lie in coils on paths basking in the sun or rest in undergrowth and will bite if a nosey dog startles them.

Because of the adders my husband gets up to walk the dogs at about 4am (when they are less active) then comes back to bed for another few hours sleep. It sounds mad but he prefers to do that than take the risk.

Not having 3 meals today after all. Might not even have 2. Stomach very sore and nauseous again. Unfortunately, I made a very silly mistake - I intended to take 2 Loperamide to try to settle my sore (and overactive) bowel but I took the wrong thing - Dulcolax. :banghead:Not sure what effect it will have, but it won't improve the current problem, that's for sure. I'm not planning to go out tomorrow - just as well I've changed my butcher's order to Friday.
