What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

I think you're right Gezzabelle, half a roll and butter. I have come off a period of extremely low carb so maybe I am pushing my luck with a whole roll.
I will try again with half tomorrow......... here's hoping :)

Have just eaten half a Lidl roll with butter, (planned to eat the whole thing but they're very filling!) and waited impatiently to test at an hour .... Exactly the same as it was before, 4.7! Really pleased, will have the other half with my chicken curry tonight :D

Beat the blackbird to some of the goosegogs today, nut crumble and cream to go with. Got the netting over the blackcurrants today as well, hoping to eat some of them when they're ripe.

Duh! Managed to post this into the wrong thread!
So have copied the following to here:

2nd Lidl protein roll test.

1 whole roll, toasted, with lashings (seriously) of butter, and a smear of marmite.

Total rise of 0.9 (pre was 5.3, then tested every 30 mins for 4 hours)
But here's the interesting thing - I hovered at that maximum (6.0-6.2) for 3.5 hrs! Before dropping back to 5.5 at the 4 hr mark.

My next test, tomorrow, will be a roll with a more normal ;) amount of butter.
I bet I shoot higher, quicker, and drop quicker too.

B: eggs fried in butter
L: cream of vegetable soup, fat bomb
D: lasagne without the pasta (basically the meat sauce with cheese on top - delicious), broccoli. jelly & cream

B: egg-fast pancakes, strawberries & cream
L: seed and olive crackers, cheddar, homemade guacamole
D: cauliflower rice with broccoli & onion, carbonara sauce

Yesterday, I had

B: fried egg and bacon with blue cheese melted on top

L: boiled artichoke with grilled aubergine puree, roast pepper hummus and mayo; chunk of peccorino cheese

D: roast chicken with turnip, baby courgettes and garlic in goose fat; frozen blueberries with cream and ground flaxseed

There will not, unfortunately, be a 3rd protein roll test today.

Rolls 3 and 4 have been eaten by Mr B!
One last night as a 'snack' before bed, while I was reading in bed.
The other this morning as breakfast, while I was sleeping in.

His reaction? 'You snooze, you lose.'

:mad::mad::mad:

This does, however, prove one thing - they are nice enough that even a Normal enjoys them.
If you accept that Mr B is actually normal, of course!
:bored:

Sounds like he's a lucky to be surviving Normal to me..........

I have two in my freezer if that helps? (I haven't tried them yet.)

Humph.
I'm still sulking.
Even his 400 yard trek to buy me a Costa Americano with cream has not fully redeemed him.
I'm considering whether replacing said rolls (and a few more) will redress the balance.

I rarely sulk, but this is fun! :couchpotato:

Just bought the high protein rolls for lunch tomorrow, they look good. Brunneria can I ask - the Americano was that with double cream or the frothy cream they put on top?

It was with what they call 'pouring cream' I think. Which is definitely not the squirty stuff.
If you order to drink in, they serve it in one of their mini milk jugs. If you order takeaway, they put it in the paper cup for you.

So when you order, have a think about how much cream to coffee you want. Every Costa I've ever been in, they put a standard glug of cream into the jug/cup. So if you like a lot of cream (like me! :hungry:) you're better ordering a small coffee, so the cream is a bigger proportion of the drink.

You can tell I'm an expert, eh? ;)

Brill. Just called in there now. Need a good drink, will let you know ☺
