Day out with the kids so I have just been grazing off the non carb parts of their food. Ham out of their sandwiches, pepperoni off their pizza. Not a great diet day for me. I need to plan better for my own food on these days out.

I'm so glad the 9-bar worked out for you Brunneria. Sharing the love. And that is fabulous that you had lovely food and lovely comments. x

In an effort to add more fat

Lunch - raspberry cocoa jelly just drowning, drowing in double cream

Dinner - two aberdeen angus burgers with 150g of Brie smothered on them. OK you can't get that much brie onto two quarter pounders to the rest went into the 100g of coleslaw. Total 11 gch, 66 gpr. I quailed at the idea of cooking the burgers in butter. Maybe next time!

I've made chocolate orange jelly based on your suggestion in another post somewhere, but I used almond milk instead of all water. It works really well. Raspberry and cocoa sounds like a good combo too.

I meant to say that my appetite is now reducing day by day. So I seem to have come through the phase of eating everything (low carb) in sight.

For breakfast I had ... a hypo. I treated it badly with about 60gch when I should have been able to deal with it with 20 or maybe 30. So that blows my carb allowance for the day. Ketones were only 1.5 today. So I may fall out of ketosis. Maybe I will just fast for the rest of the day.

Snap. Woke up hypo yesterday, had a wonderful and awful day. Wonderful, because I went to (struggled to get to) a big family gathering, awful because I pretty much got my diabetes wrong all day. Had a HI and that won't do.
Back to normal this morning. Had a buttered dietdoctor oopsie for breakfast with added flax and cinnamon. Felt more cheerful to return to the realms of respectable numbers.
Hope you'll soon be back on track too.

breakfast bacon, tomato, mushroom
lunch tuna and feta salad( no else likes feta much so once opened I've valiantly to eat it all quickly ;-))
dinner chicken and pepper curry on bed of iceberg lettuce with spicy cauliflower and half a poppadum.
snacks babybel

On waking: cheese string

Breakfast 9 am: bacon and scrambled egg, small latte

Snack 1.30pm: hemp 9 bar

Lunch 3.30pm: Turkey and veg biryani leftovers

Super 8pm: berries and cream and Greek yog

Last thing: cheese string

I seem to be experiencing the gradual LCHF appetite reduction - after days of gluttony  I am forgetting to gorge. :wideyed:

Brunch: 2 quorn sausages, a fried egg, mushrooms

Random: a plum

Dinner: mushroom curry on shredded romaine lettuce

Pudding: chocolate cherry jelly with whipped double cream

I have been unable to find orange flavoured sugar-free, gelatin-free jelly online. Booooo!

can I ask if anyone doing this low- carbing is also counting calories a well as carbs? And if so what they reckon they are consuming per day calorie wise? thanks.

I'm not counting carbs, just avoiding them. I am not counting calories either because it would make me feel like I am on a "diet" (if you know what I mean) I've lost 31 pounds since Christmas.

I haven't lost any weight for a couple of weeks, but am hoping the impending exercise regime will shock my metabolism into action.

I'm avoiding carbs and surprisingly feel less hungry than I did with a full plate of pasta. It's just hard after 30 years of low fat, calorie counting to get head round a different way. 31 pounds is great loss. I've lost 5 since last week and hope a few more have gone by weigh night tomorrow.

Well done on your loss! :joyful: We are about the same age, so I know what you mean. We have been brainwashed by the low-fat brigade our whole adult lives. I think we just need to take a leap of faith and trust the LCHF. My priority was getting my bg down and weightloss has just been a welcome bonus. I need to start taking it seriously now though.
