Breakfast today was some leftover omelette pizza from yesterday. Coffee
Lunch a few slices of salami and a bit of cheddar
Dinner bacon wrapped chicken breast, stuffed with mozzarella, sun-blush tomatoes and basil, with roast broccoli and peppers. Followed it by DGF brownie, warm with clotted cream. Had a couple of glasses of red too.

Yesterday, skipped breakfast then a walk to meet friends for pub lunch which was a ploughmans. They left the bread off mine and there was sooo much cheese, a brie, a stilton and a cheddar. Walked an hour back after. Just one glass of wine with soda
D was just a bit of cold lamb

Today
B. 50g greek yoghurt with 2 strawberries and tablespoon seeds.
Exercise and dance class for 90 minutes
L 2 chicken thighs and green salad. 2 strawberries with 1 square green and blacks 85% which I dont like as much as either the lidl or the lindt. It tastes sweeter and is too easy to eat more than just a square or 2.
D. Some leftover cabbage , green beans and carrot fried up with an egg into a sort of hash

My weekly sports thing morning (sadly only one week left to go before it's finished, it's a lot of fun), so a big mug of coffee with skimmed milk and a smoke on my way there, I love having my morning coffee in the car.
Halfway through the kaats lesson (kaatsen being a very traditional Friesian ball game no-one understands the rules for but it's great fun anyway :)) I started to drop so had a couple of bites from my apple to prevent the impending hypo. Rest of the apple went to my friend when my bg was fine after the lesson.

Had a very big and yummy mug of milk at my friends place because I was dropping again. Bit too much, bg wise, despite sharing a bit with her dog, so a correction afterwards, but I thouroughly enjoyed the milk :hungry:.

Went shopping after that, thrift store and supermarket, and ended up with two nice books and a new mug which made me laugh very hard, seeing as I do have the 'sugar diabeetus' :hilarious:
Ate nice meat and cheese tapas like things my friend bought at Lidl on my way back to drop her off and drank an ayran (Turkish salty yoghurt drink) I bought.

Evening meal tasted much better than it looked. One of those 'no clue what to eat but I'll surprise myself' meals, invented on the spur :)
Tomatoes with mozzarella and sundried tomatoes, and onions, garlic, chilli pepper with fried slices of a Spanish black pudding sausage thing I found at Lidl. Quick and very tasty meal :hungry:.

People who think they know everything.
Good morning all!

Yesterday went a bit wrong and I ended up having a Bfree sweet potato wrap stuffed with houmous and red onion. I won't be getting these wraps again, they might be relatively low carb but my system can't seem to cope - my BG had risen by just under two at the two hour test but then just carried on going up and up until I gave up testing and went to bed. Basically just before dinner it was 6.3, 2 hours PP it was at 8.1 and at bed time it was 10.6!! Then first thing this morning it was 10.5.

Today's food is pretty much what I had planned for yesterday...

Breakfast: Omelette with carb free syrup (blueberry and lavender)
Lunch: nope
Dinner: the remainder of the h/m goat's cheese, fennel and black olive quiche with salad

Fingers crossed that this doesn't affect me like yesterday's wrap did!

Hi All
Yesterday had my usual slice HiLo toast, cooled thick butter, tea lots of.
Lunch was cheese salad using up the last of the Shropshire Blue which just crumbles over the veg.
Supper was small portion chilli beef and cauli rice.
2 HC pralines I just happened to come across ;)
Today same breakfast.
Lunch cheese salad with soft Brie this time. Maybe half an apple.
Supper will be chicken, chorizo, red pepper & tin tomato fry up with broccoli for me, pasta for Mr PM.
In order to shake up the lunch salad I put eggs on to boil earlier for egg mayo and then completely forgot about them. Heard this odd metal rattling noise and realised it was the water boiling dry and the egg shells making a racket. Amazingly they were ok when cooled and peeled with no green rings around the yoke so Alls Well that ends Well.

FBG 7.5 today. Good start.
Breakfast - about 11.30 was bacon, mushrooms and an egg.
Lunch - just a cup of tea.
Dinner - I'm intending to make chaffles to have with some cheese but I've broken my partial top dental plate and have to take it to the dentist this afternoon and leave it for repair. The chaffles will be soft enough, so that should be allright, but I'll have to make sure that tomorrow and Friday's food is soft. It's only one little tooth right at the front - a netball accident when I was a teenager - but removing the plate leaves my mouth vulnerable to anything hard-ish. For once, glad to have a mask to cover my face. I've never allowed myself to be seen without my front tooth.

Evening all. MIA for a few days. Don’t remember exactly what has been eaten, except that it was way too much and involved Moser Roth 85%, more Barnsley lamb chops and an air fried poussin among other things.

Today started with almond butter and cream.
Lunch was using up stuff in the fridge - fried mince with some onions, chopped up leftover corned beef, 1 egg and some grated cheese.
Just eating a ramekin of freshly made smoked mackerel pate a la @Brunneria as a light dinner. Tasty and plenty left to go in the freezer too.

Editing to say it’d go very well with ‘toast’ in the form of a carnivore pizza base. Maybe tomorrow.....

@Goonergal glad you enjoyed it! Can be made with smoked salmon, too. Though needs to be whizzed up in a blender, since smoked salmon doesn't flake and mash. I use fresh dill or chives in the smoked salmon.

Today has been a major food day, and I have decided to wimp out a bit.
The fridge is groaning and we have a food delivery in 3 days, and then no delivery for 10 days, so we need to get eating. There is no freezer space spare!

B: homemade ham and eggs, cooked in pan together with butter
L: was supposed to be goulash, but I was still so full from breakfast...
D: was the goulash, served with some Lidl protein noodles.

That leaves the chicken in wine, tarragon and cream til tomorrow, instead of tonight, and the baked salmon in horseradish for tomorrow too...

Thanks. I mashed and used a stick blender. Will give the smoked salmon a try too.

Big food delivery arriving here tomorrow night. There may be a lot of meat consumption if it doesn’t all fit into the freezer!

@Chook it’s funny how some low carb foods can still cause a bg rise. I’ve a horrible feeling that sweeteners are doing that to me. Every time Ai have a DGF cake I end up with high BGs for a day or 2 blooming annoying as J like them and have a freezer full. More detailed investigation must follow.
Today black coffee all morning. @Antje77 I also love my morning coffee in the car and always take one with me on my meds delivering rounds. Don’t know what the appeal is but I like doing it.
Lunch was DD pizza omelette, salad then lc custard with 100% chocolate grated on top.
Dinner from the book Eat Rich Live Long ( Ivor Cummings & Jeffrey Gerber) was provolone& ham stuffed pork tenderloin. With broccoli. Red wine x2 ( glasses)

Not sure if what I craved was my fathers spaghetti, a pizza, or moussaka, but the resulting hybrid meal is very good!

So good in fact I'll share the recipe with you :)

- Put sliced salted aubergine and tomatoes in the oven with a drizzle of oil. Take the aubergine slices out when done, leave the tomato a bit longer.
- Fry onion, add lots of garlic and a chopped chilli pepper after a bit. Add spices like curry powder and paprika or whatever else you fancy. (I would've added bell pepper and mushroom but didn't have them)
-Add minced meat and fry until it's a bit browned.
- Add a tin of cubed tomatoes in juice (or passata). At this point I added a stock cube (mushroom, as I didn't have any other stock cubes) and oregano.
- Leave to simmer for at least half an hour. Don't forget to take your tomatoes from the oven about now!

- Grease your casserole and cover the bottom with a thin layer of your tomato/meat sauce. Aubergine slices. Rest of the sauce.
- Push pieces of gorgonzola in the sauce. Put your grilled tomatoes on top. Add mozzarella and parmesan. Put back in the oven on medium heat for 20 minutes or a bit longer if you've let it cool before finishing.

Eet smakelijk!

Started with a 10 am breakfast of 3 scrambled eggs with a bit of grated cheddar.
Then off on a NT garden visit with DH. DH is taking time to adjust to being married to someone with diabetes as he offered 1) Ice cream , 2) cake, 3) to stop on the way home for a takeaway...
He's a lovely man but needs to learn
Turns out theres nothing in NT cafe that is low carb... pea and mint soup possibly but it was a hot day. So he had a cream tea. He had the scones and jam. I had the little pot of clotted cream.
D. Pork chop with cabbage, beans and bit fo spinach. Used a ready made curry sauce at 10g but it served 3 of us handsomely, and stayed within meter. Cooked some rhubarb without sugar... was just about edible smothered in double cream or yoghurt

2.10 am - still awake. I did go to bed, but just before I got into bed, I saw a rather large spider . I tried to catch it with my spider-catcher mini vacuum, but it escaped. So that's it - can't sleep in that room tonight.

Came to the kitchen to sit, and hopefully, sleep in the big chair, but it just hasn't happened. I had to take co-codamol to ease the sore legs. That usually makes me sleep, but no. Neil suggested that I turn the TV on - it usually sends me to sleep. I tried it and almost made it, but I stirred myself to turn it off. And woke myself up. Tried some hot milk. Still waiting for it to take effect.

It was so hot here today (23 degrees) that, on my way home from the dentist, I bought an ice cream. Shan't do that again. It didn't have too bad an effect on my BG, but it was so sweet! And what can you do with a melting ice cream that you don't want? No dog to help out, so I just consumed it. :yuck: Yuk!

I started my new basal insulin tonight - only 40 units, just in case it is too effective. We'll see the result in the morning. Of course, lack of sleep might make it rise anyway. Hey ho - back to watching "Diners, drive-ins and dives". Goodnight all (red rimmed, sore eyes, bored and fed up).:wideyed::arghh::banghead::grumpy:

Dozed, without turning TV off this time, off and on for the next almost 2 hours. BG at 4 am was 8.9. Took some more co-codamol. Water to drink - mouth and throat v dry.
Dozed again - slightly deeper sleep from about 5 am to about 6 am, then awake, but dozy, until about 8 am. BG down to 7.0. That's good.

Breakfast will be chaffle with some roasted tomato paste that I made yesterday (needed to be used up before the new ones came in the shopping).

Lunch - not expecting to have any.

Dinner - sardines with salad of some sort.

Must try to find that spider today. Anyone know how long spiders live for?

ah... port’n’brandy there’s a blast from the past :D

today:
B: Bovril and collagen, lc hot choc
L: didn’t bother
D: the aforementioned salmon in horseradish cream. OMG. Divine. The recipe said use garlic and basil in the pan with the salmon. Of course that was too much phaff. So I baked the salmon and added crushed garlic and basil to the horseradish cream (sour cream and mayo combo). Worked so well that Mr B switched his supper choice from goulash to salmon. The rest of the salmon is cooling now, ready to be mashed into the rest of the horseradish cream. mr B is plotting to swipe it for a lodough wrap. Only if I don’t get there first!

port and brandy to fix a stomach bug I wonder if that would fix my UC/Crohns LOL......:D
