What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

That looks cosy and a special place for you both which will ease his stress, and yours I hope. Bobs is now on lockdown after a day out hunting, I recued two mice babies outside today. She asked to come in for her lunch and then begged to go back out! Little madame!

good afternoon all

4.6 today

we have sun today so we've been out in the garden choppiing up more spiky bush and then went for a walk, I don't think we've had such good weather for Easter weekend for a couple of years at least.

The village is very quiet and usually there are a lot of people who come for the beach. No tourists today and the beach car park with access to the beach for boats is festooned with 'Road Closed' signs.

@jjraak Birthday greetings
@gennepher, so glad you managed to get something to help Popeye, well done the veg. lady, kindness can make such a difference and I'm loving the pic of you and Popeye today

Hope your day is treating you well everyone

@Muddy Cyclist that's an impressive addition to your latest series

today's art catch up - two versions of the same idea, I saw a video on youtube of someone's suggestions for beginners on how to paint a scene of moonlit trees in the snow, so I had a go and then wondered if it could be adapted. Both are on craft card.
no 1 is the moonlit one

no 2 is a sunlit version

@geefull thank you for both paintings today. The contrast of moonlight and sunlight is really interesting. The first one appealed most to me, it could have been a Christmas card. We are spoiled by all the artists here, so thanks to you all.

@gennepher crumbs, missed so much whilst been busy in the garden and you have had quite a day, can't add much to what everyone's done for you today but very pleased you had so much help and success, hugs for you both.

Liked the sketch reminded me of the horror our cats put us through at the mention of claw cutting and tablet taking.

@geefull two nice contrasting tree scenes I like the warm sunny one best you have caught the light well.

A lot of kind thoughtful members on this thread, well done one and all.

Today's art will demonstrate why I leave still life or flower art to artists like @geefull . I was not in the mood for more watercolour painting so sat in the garden and did an A4 colour pencil sketch of Tulips, yes they are Tulips! We have lots of different ones and the sun was shinning through these although you would no know from my effort

Oh and before any horticulturalist asks, the leaves at the bottom are what we call Elephant Ears not Tulip leaves.

My next series is going back to Trees but this time Woodlands. Whilst out yesterday evening I did a Plein Air sketch of a hazy sun behind a stand of tall trees, very fast as Moet was being walked and Mrs MC was getting impatient so was Moet...Pencil pastels, this is a rough sketch in less than 5 minutes for the first watercolour....

Both of these are equally as beautiful @geefull
Love them!

Thank you @Muddy Cyclist
A bit of a hectic day...
But looking good at the moment.

Nice bright red tulips @Muddy Cyclist
My elephant ears haven’t emerged yet...
I love the sketch of trees and their shadows...

Yes I'm still alive. Rumours of my passing are greatly exaggerated. Radio 4 PM programme has a motivational "great escapes" (from Covid 19) slot, music, verse, poetry or speech. I have sent in some very fine suggestions, but here, below is one that will not be aired. If you are aged under 50 then 633 Squadron may not connect. But for the rest of us, Turn Up The Volume!

We are stuck with them.

Have I missed your birthday! Any cake left ;-)

I was going to suggest just this but read on after genns post to see what transpired.

I've got amazon prime, had exceptional service. No delays so far

This is such wonderful news. I am so happy to hear it.
I am now adding that vegetable lady and the farm vet to my prayers for you and Popeye, giving thanks for you all.
And I love your picture of you and Popeye. I wish him patience and you ease with the pedicure. The KittenCat has gotten better about having her claws done when she gets a treat after each paw; nowadays she just patiently endures, knowing it will go on until it's done.

Last night I placed an Amazon Prime order for something to be sent to a recipient in a town a couple of hours from here. Within a few hours I got an e-mail saying it had already been shipped, with a delivery date of April 16th. Overnight it has traveled over 500 miles, and at 7:00 this morning it was only just over 200 miles from its destination. And it's not even a priority item. Yay Amazon!

I am glad you liked the poems. I can't really take credit for them, I just changed the words to "John Peel" and "The Keeper" (which I learned as a child at school, of all places! ). I figured you probably knew them too.
I hope that by now Bobs has come back and is safe in lockdown. She and Daisy have become two of my favorite kitties even though I have never met them.

I hope No. 2 son's GF's job will last. Something no one should have to worry about on top of all the rest of this mess.

I just got off the phone from a 2-hour conversation with one of the KittenCat's human "auntees". I was about to get dressed and go out for a walk, but now the KittenCat is asleep in my lap ...
It's 22 degrees C outside now; this morning it was so cold I thought my phone was showing the temp for "the dark and dangerous north" instead of here. Even by afternoon, it was warmer where you are than where I am!

They are both lovely, geefull. Thank you for posting them.

Beginners!!! These are fabulous!
