What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

That looks cosy and a special place for you both which will ease his stress, and yours I hope. Bobs is now on lockdown after a day out hunting, I recued two mice babies outside today. She asked to come in for her lunch and then begged to go back out! Little madame!

good afternoon all :)

4.6 today

we have sun today :) so we've been out in the garden choppiing up more spiky bush and then went for a walk, I don't think we've had such good weather for Easter weekend for a couple of years at least.

The village is very quiet and usually there are a lot of people who come for the beach. No tourists today and the beach car park with access to the beach for boats is festooned with 'Road Closed' signs.

@jjraak Birthday greetings :joyful:
@gennepher, so glad you managed to get something to help Popeye, well done the veg. lady, kindness can make such a difference :) and I'm loving the pic of you and Popeye today :joyful:

Hope your day is treating you well everyone :)

@Muddy Cyclist that's an impressive addition to your latest series :)

today's art catch up - two versions of the same idea, I saw a video on youtube of someone's suggestions for beginners on how to paint a scene of moonlit trees in the snow, so I had a go ;) and then wondered if it could be adapted. Both are on craft card.
no 1 is the moonlit one

no 2 is a sunlit version

@geefull thank you for both paintings today. The contrast of moonlight and sunlight is really interesting. The first one appealed most to me, it could have been a Christmas card. We are spoiled by all the artists here, so thanks to you all.

@gennepher crumbs, missed so much whilst been busy in the garden and you have had quite a day, can't add much to what everyone's done for you today but very pleased you had so much help and success, hugs for you both.

Liked the sketch reminded me of the horror our cats put us through at the mention of claw cutting and tablet taking.

@geefull two nice contrasting tree scenes I like the warm sunny one best you have caught the light well.

A lot of kind thoughtful members on this thread, well done one and all.

Today's art will demonstrate why I leave still life or flower art to artists like @geefull . I was not in the mood for more watercolour painting so sat in the garden and did an A4 colour pencil sketch of Tulips, yes they are Tulips! We have lots of different ones and the sun was shinning through these although you would no know from my effort :joyful:

Oh and before any horticulturalist asks, the leaves at the bottom are what we call Elephant Ears not Tulip leaves.

My next series is going back to Trees but this time Woodlands. Whilst out yesterday evening I did a Plein Air sketch of a hazy sun behind a stand of tall trees, very fast as Moet was being walked and Mrs MC was getting impatient so was Moet...Pencil pastels, this is a rough sketch in less than 5 minutes for the first watercolour....

Both of these are equally as beautiful @geefull
Love them!

But looking good at the moment.

Nice bright red tulips @Muddy Cyclist
My elephant ears haven’t emerged yet...
I love the sketch of trees and their shadows...

Yes I'm still alive. Rumours of my passing are greatly exaggerated. Radio 4 PM programme has a motivational "great escapes" (from Covid 19) slot, music, verse, poetry or speech. I have sent in some very fine suggestions, but here, below is one that will not be aired. If you are aged under 50 then 633 Squadron may not connect. But for the rest of us, Turn Up The Volume!

Morning all.
An early wake after a late night .
No real reason.
Fbg 5.9
Temp 36.6
All good

After yesterday's horror show, I had to check the news websites

Horrified after the poor performance yesterday, but no longer surprised, at how badly we are letting them down, national disgrace .

We now have the doctor's openly declaring
The govt are putting their lives at risk.

As unpalatable as it is, this isn't something anyone can ignore, if we don't get some one in to take charge and begin protecting them properly,

We run the risk they may decide to choose living instead of working .

God bless them all.
And heaven help the rest of us ...

BBC News - Coronavirus: Doctors' lives at risk over PPE shortages, says BMA
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-52252470
We are stuck with them.

And after 17 days in lockdown, the missus surprised me with a birthday treat.

Chocolate pudding, custard and wine...Yahoo.
.
So, sorry all, but it was a stuff you "Covid" AND
T2D day yesterday.

A little normality in a world in chaos...bliss.

Birthday wish ..?
A quick return for all to the normal we all moaned about only weeks ago...:D

Oh, and one more next year, would be rather nice, too, God.... IF your listening :)

I know your mad busy at moment, but
62 has a nicer ring then 61, to my ear .:happy:
Have I missed your birthday! Any cake left ;-)

Oh @gennepher .. How awful for you.
Poor Popeye..

What do you need.. Can I order for you of amazon and get sent to your direct.
Can I get from my chemist friend in street and get sent on to you..?

If stopped, both masked and trying to maintain space .... God knows how much more difficult that must be for you....hugs galore
If only they would help

I would being a practical old JJ.
Suggest you pre make some signs ?

Knowing you probably way ahead of me.

Simple answers to expected question
Outlining your difficulty hearing.
And also, some pens and paper for more of the same, as and when needed..?

Do let us know if any of us can help in some way Genn
We are all in this together.
Let us help if we can .

Take good care of yourself
X
I was going to suggest just this but read on after genns post to see what transpired.

Bu$$er.

I would of said amazon was your best bet for fast delivery ... But I do know some but not all have non essential deliveries put back

I have daughter's play station to amuse us but needed an adaptor.. One seller said the above so longer wait.. Another was almost next day delivery
come the day after but arrived bang on time.

MIGHT be worth checking other sellers ?
I've got amazon prime, had exceptional service. No delays so far

@jjraak

Thank you for everything and offers to get stuff...

@SlimLizzy

Thank you for additional ideas with notices, pen & paper and suggestions for police

@PenguinMum

Thank you for your offer of phoning for me. I was about to take you up on that, but someone rang up for me as explained above. Yes I have white sheets in garage...

@Krystyna23040

Thank you

@HarryBeau

Yes I am using a saline solution and Manuka honey.

@Ryhia

Thank you for the link

@SaskiaKC

Thank you

I am sorry if I have missed anyone out
You are all amazing
Thank you

This is such wonderful news. I am so happy to hear it.
I am now adding that vegetable lady and the farm vet to my prayers for you and Popeye, giving thanks for you all.
And I love your picture of you and Popeye. I wish him patience and you ease with the pedicure. The KittenCat has gotten better about having her claws done when she gets a treat after each paw; nowadays she just patiently endures, knowing it will go on until it's done.

Last night I placed an Amazon Prime order for something to be sent to a recipient in a town a couple of hours from here. Within a few hours I got an e-mail saying it had already been shipped, with a delivery date of April 16th. Overnight it has traveled over 500 miles, and at 7:00 this morning it was only just over 200 miles from its destination. And it's not even a priority item. Yay Amazon! :)

I thought it was early for you to be up and about! Bobs has been missing for a couple of hours and while I am locking her and her mice out I do think she is straying. When I next see her I might lock her in for a while. I loved the poems you wrote about Bobs and her escapades, thank you. Hope you and the KC have a nice day when it starts! Its scorching here about 25 d c. We are so lucky to have a garden, so terribly hard for folk in the city in flats and limited access to outside. So much to be grateful for. I think life might become simpler after this with everyone being more satisfied except for the worry of jobs of course. Our two sons are in sustainable jobs but No 2’s GF worried about hers.

I am glad you liked the poems. I can't really take credit for them, I just changed the words to "John Peel" and "The Keeper" (which I learned as a child at school, of all places! :eek::D). I figured you probably knew them too.
I hope that by now Bobs has come back and is safe in lockdown. She and Daisy have become two of my favorite kitties even though I have never met them.

I hope No. 2 son's GF's job will last. Something no one should have to worry about on top of all the rest of this mess.

I just got off the phone from a 2-hour conversation with one of the KittenCat's human "auntees". I was about to get dressed and go out for a walk, but now the KittenCat is asleep in my lap ...
It's 22 degrees C outside now; this morning it was so cold I thought my phone was showing the temp for "the dark and dangerous north" instead of here. Even by afternoon, it was warmer where you are than where I am! :)
