@lindisfel that is an intriguing way of calculating his birthdate. It still doesn't provide a Dec birth but more likely in Sept.

"The period of service for the 8th course of Abijah, to which Zechariah belonged, was from May 19 to May 26. It was most likely this late spring administration when Zechariah’s service was interrupted by the angel’s appearance to him, announcing his wife’s imminent pregnancy. I'm not questioning personal faith here, nor am I challenging any individual but it seems you are taking my words that way. Your faith is yours, however, the story that promotes that faith is open to all and will be interpreted uniquely by each person. To present it as an inviolate 'thing' is the definition of fundamentalism.

I am sorry that you feel I am impinging upon your faith, not my intent. Please bear in mind the original question was querying a birthdate not a faith.

FANTASTIC ear worm. Ahhh I was a child of the 'wrecking' days to the Smiths and the like... basically spinning all around with elbows and limbs generally all over the place, and gave way to being an Indie-kid shoulder-shuffling shoe-gazer in my Uni years.

That could explain a lot about me....

I am not admitting to anything but it is highly possible as that was the year I met Mr K at the Top Rank in Watford.

I knew it. Watford eh. Batting well above your average to be in an aspirational area of Norfolk W is slightly more upmarket than SE25 where I met Julie
 
Filling in a few more gaps in my mental image of ya Rossington Bear - all very positive. I was happy in the haze of a drunken hour but heaven knows I'm miserable now seems like every student's Uni experience. Sorry any mums and dads who bought the working hard story.

Some clown along from me in halls played Leonard Cohen to death. In contrast Morissey is a very happy chap. Cliff and the Shads are better than Guy Mitchell - She wears red feathers and a hooly-hooly skirt
 
And back down to earth. No-go for commentary work in 2021 after all that effort to get that demo done. Too crushed to even consider how to respond to the guy. Got a lot of feedback, but not sure if they want me to try again or what.

Now my bloods may as well be as high as Everest for all I care. Completely gutted.

I thought the calculation may have made it more in October in our calender. The Abijah division can move somewhat
But his birth date is not in Scripture, therefore I personally don't think it important.

No, I was more interested in beliefs about Pauline theology aligning with the rest of Scripture.
He was an educated man, a Roman citizen and Pharisee. He read LXX in Koine Greek no doubt and liberally quoted from it applying the texts regarding Yahweh to Yeshua as Lord. And they appear in the NT.

You can email me with your thoughts if you want to discuss the points you made more fully.

I am a slow old man so I may take some time getting my thoughts together.

We are in agreement sir as I believe the crucifixion defines the faith of the man. In that, he was tempted only by himself, by his own sense of shortcomings but rose above it and accepted his fate based upon his faith in his god.

Paul was actually one of my heroes and I was fortunate in the 90s to undertake his journey from Ephesus with a group of priests which ended in a papal audience. I was given permission in Malta to take meditation in the cave that Paul hid within. Saul's conversion always interested me and, as you say, he was a highly educated man.

Thank you for your offer of PMs but as others here will testify I am rubbish at it. I lose focus very quickly.

4.8 today

not a bad day here but quiet, I got my sweater finished and hemmed up two pairs of trousers for mr gee. We didn't go over to mum's today because we already have her shopping list, we were over there yesterday because Katy needed her annual checkup and booster shot at the vets

Treasure trove today, I found half a box of homemade rum and raisin ice cream in the freezer so we ate it after dinner

Some very practical points spring to mind. 90.9 YO MIL does have a mobile phone but doesn't text as I guess many her age don't. As I read it, text is a major means of inviting people for vaccination - may be wrong there. She lives in a rural area probably needing to go to Cambridge for the Pfizer vaccine - which will not be possible by public transport. She does still drive but Addenbrookes/RoyalPapworth is a huge, bewildering site and a pig to get to from her side of the county. I'm sure similar stories abound.
