good evening all :)

4.5 today

woohoo! a fairly sunny day after a very damp start with torrents of rain.
mr gee celebrated by spending most of the morning making repairs to his shed window, then we went over to mum's to collect her shopping list only to find the heavy rain overnight had flooded half way up the drive :sorry:

It happens periodically since the county raised the road when they resurfaced it, they did put an extra drain in at the side of the gate but the constant rain had filled it up with mud and leaves. So that was our afternoon, cleaning out the drain. :angelic: :D
Katy thought the puddles on the drive were great fun to run about in :hilarious:

Lovely evening now but we're too 'cream crackered' to take advantage of a walk ;)

Hope your day is treating you well :)

@RFSMarch - great news! :joyful:

@Muddy Cyclist - Ah, the paper thing does make sense on those terms :)
You must be looking forward to your trip, I know I would be :D

@dunelm - interesting technique by the sound of it, might have a go at it myself, I've seen a few Youtube videos of people doing gel plate printing too, more food for thought ;)
I'm liking what you have done with your new background technique today :)

@gennepher - many hugs for the soaking and the miserable chilling, it's been doing sudden downpours like that here too :sorry: glad you have warmed up now though.
A stunning piece of art you have produced, striking and moody background, the trees are great and the people have worked really well, amazing for such a small work area :joyful:

@ianpspurs - glad you're pleased, mum's lawn is full of puddles so she's not so amused, the reseeded area where the burst pipe was repaired is appreciating it though :)

@SlimLizzy - looks lovely, very lush (hugs for the hard work though )

art bit -
I have fallen foul of the image size messages sometimes too so I make my images smaller to keep them about half a Gb.

inspired by one of @lindisfel 's lovely photo's (thank you :) ) and painted on Hahnemuhle Britannia
sort of mixed media, watercolour and pen ;)

Thank you @geefull and what a bright and colourful interpretation of the photo, beautifully detailed.

Good morning everyone, it’s wetter than an Otter’s pocket here in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of king prawn egg fried rice (with zero noodles instead of rice) came in at 4.8 this am

An exciting day yesterday, the girl in the bubble began walking unaided and all thanks to a 50p ball that she was having the time of her life with, kicking it round the room (the back of our house is all open plan - kitchen, dining, sitting and another bit yet to be give an psychological profile). She suddenly bent down, picked it up and wandered off with it - champion.

Time speeded up a bit during the night (this usually happens only when we are moving) so it’s different from yesterday; “I was so much older then, I’m younger than that now” - so off out for lunch despite the dull day once Mrs Miggins returns - her sister was only discharged from hospital on the understanding that she would not be alone last night.

Anyhow, art bit today comes from the girl in the bubble (age 18 months) and a trio of doodles from my backing paper. Bins are out, have a wonderful day despite what the weather people say. Koffy time.

If Mr Slim pointed those walls he's an absolute gem and paragon of patience!

My MrSlim is both of those things, but not responsible for the pointing. Apparently it was done by Italians as part of the reconstruction after WW2. The front wall still shows some blast damage.

Perhaps a close up will show why MrSlim so dislikes the pointing?

Close up of front wall. Rear is mostly the same but without the white highlighting

Good morning all from a dry and so far pleasant Suffolk morning. Quite hard to stay abreast of all the Cummings and goings on this thread what with #routergate here and #forumgate somewhere in internettyland. All I can do is say great art yesterday @geefull and wonderful gallery of art from The Girl in The Bubble (footballer and artist by 18 months:woot:) and yourself @dunelm. Enjoy the meal and I hope your sister in law had a good night. Another great fbg @karen8967. Swipey felt I needed to be defined as 4.9 today - so be it. We are charged with the care of a poorly 2 year old today but we may have some experience in such matters. Toodle Pip chums.

Hi all,
After two cold months of spring
yesterday it poured from mid afternoon until evening and was not all like the end of May. I had a quick walk down to my gate and back after our evening meal and it was distinctly chilly and even the birds were quiet.
The Sun came out as it went down in the North West and gave us a pleasing sight of the sunset.(will post).
Only now is the Hawthorn beginning to bloom and yet in the garden all my grass grows apace and is too wet to mow.

Had a good chat in the morning with a guy checking out our overhead lines to the houses locally. It turned out his dad had worked for Pye television transmitter installations and died young in his fifties and not surprisingly he thought it due to high RF fields. Apparently others working with his dad had died as well.

I must be a living Faraday cage or immune to non ionising and ionising radiation! ;

The guy told me with working on his own he never got much chance to chat to anyone so appreciated our chat.

Have great day
Derek

We spent several hours looking for a tiny object that one of us believed to be still in the motorhome, while the other was sure it had already been unpacked...Frustrating for both of us.
However the time was not entirely wasted. The blackout fabric on the above bed skylight had an ominous bulge, was full of water and had indeed overflowed.

The unpacking process revealed that our dining chairs seemed to be still dry, while the mixed ragbag of old and unwanted curtains used as packing were soaked. We have now got a paint resistant dust sheet, black plastic bags a bath towel and a bowl on the bed. Estimated water in the bowl this morning, at least a pint. Motorhome relocation is now urgent.
The tiny object was indeed already unpacked. MrSlim was greatly relieved to have his memory stick found.
Back door still blocked with vegetation, driveway some weeding done, several days yet to finish, veg beds managed an hour, still have not found the edges. Looks like weeks of work. MrSlim mowed a bit more of the hayfield.

@dunelm Always exciting when children first get to their feet.

@lindisfel ...interesting conversation

I had an experience that in some way mirrors that.

It fairly rattled me,... And I wonder now if in some way it was a precursor to the T2D

It was at work, rather a small office.
One TV type monitor.. No issue

One day they came and changed it (update)

About 10-15 mins after installation, I began to get a headache...rarely get them,

Mentioned it to colleague, she had same

Discussed how we both felt a little queasy

Decided to unplug new monitor
15 mins later symptoms disappeared.

Reported as such, engineer returned.
Which is where I became paranoid/ delusional/ a crank..depending how you view his opinion

"Been installing these everywhere, your the only one to complain"

"But we're BOTH complaining, so the problems grown 100% in the last few minutes,... that's worrying !!"

Yes I was peeved, I'm many things, but a hypochondriac, I'm not.

Anyway long story short was they swapped back old one, all good again

But annoyed at the attitude, I did some digging
Well known problem, who knew.

Some are sensitive to the radiation being kicked out,

In a shock moment I found the acceptable levels in UK are hundreds of times higher then those accepted in the USA.

I moved roles, which gave ne the chance to see if the monitors affected others

"Not really" most said, looking at me like a nut job.

"Ever get headaches, in here" was what I started using to get over that nutter impression.

Most said yes
Most put it down to air con ..mmhh

Did suggest they turn off monitor next headache just to check..no one got back to me, do guess the " he's a nutter" carried more weight then finding out if it was affecting their health.

I did a test at home.

We had a pc sat in the corner, my little office essentially.

Router sits next to it
Been there for ages.

Never caused me a problem

We got a laptop, so pc went.

But router still there
So to test I sat by router.

10-15 mins same sensation, headache, Felt queasy.

Moved away, back to normal

So I learnt radiation waves can affect me, and others
I was lucky (?) The situation forced me to find that out
And unless others can see and feel an object physically, it doesn't exist

So could the power lines be the cause of your visitors early loss of father .I'd say yes

Sure others would disagree.
But that little taste of the invisible harm it may cause, was enough to convince me,
being too close wouldn't be good for everyone

Q. Was it T2D related. Mmhh
Anyone want to test that , by taking a seat & a book and sitting by their router for half an hour ?

Wouldn't that be wonderful, if we could establish that connection.
.
Sure someone could use that to screen & warn people at risk of T2D early.

Happy to just be that engineers "crack pot "
If it doesn't pan out.

Good Happy Bin day Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all who don't give a stuff about media generated triva. More important things in life.

A calculation causing 4.8 this morning, steam driven sliderule fired up, antilog tables to hand and most importantly tea bag reading cup prepared. Calculation done, insulin administered.

After the rushing around and general busyness of life recently, hopefully bin day will be more relaxed.

Electromotive generated emissions, it is me and me's belief that serious research needs doing. Think about attitudes at the time of Marie Curie , the same level of ignorance abounds today. Science rules, not art and literature based education, useful and entertaining though they may be. Bit heavy for me, this last paragraph.

Well fellow posters, painters and gamers time to sign out and get on with life, enjoy today and remember the stays etc.

I thought I would try a slightly different painting today. I was looking through some Chinese Masters. And I quite liked this guy, Lin Fengmian. A 20th century Chinese painter, who apparently also trained in Europe, so his painting is a mixture of styles. I liked his paintings of flowers and windows and thought I would try one of them in a similar manner to his. It was not easy. I could not get the net curtains, an hour later I was still trying to get those net curtains…

The whole painting took me far far too long. I don't like my painting of this at all. But tomorrow I will try one more of these paintings of his and see how I get on with it.

This painting is 893 kb in size...

Edit: now I have posted this painting, I can see I don't like the paper I chose in ZenBrush3. It has vertical lines on it which were not apparent in the app but are apparent on the Pixel phone screen. So, I won't be using that paper again!

Hi jjraak,
It all depends on the field strength and ones distance from the source.

I used to insist when a rigger climbed a mast he carried the hazard field strength meter on a neck lanyard even though the powers were reduced.

Eternal optimist. Absolutely no chance of The buck stops here appearing on a certain bloviator's door. An event full of fury and signifying nothing. It will all be tomorrow's (proper bin day) chip paper - are they allowed to use that anymore?

Basically he is saying Doris didnt have the nerve to sack Handcock.
Sage came in for some stick, they were the ones all for herd immunity and trying to flatten the curve which would have led to 400,000 dead.

Boris gives/gave way to business Cons who didn't want international travel to stop.
The Dom reckoned it should have stopped straight away..
...it was a no brainer and doris did it again and now we have the Indian to cope with.

Not using masks was again a poor decision.
They didnt really latch onto aerosol passage until too late.

I hope their not heading for another elevated male chicken!

I like Lin Fengmian and have copied some of his birds - mainly his cranes. Despite not liking the curtains and the vertical lines, it’s a good still life, well composed and with some lovely touches.
