Good morning everyone from a bouncing wet start here in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of out out came in at 6.1 this am - just goes to show that you are better making your own food.

Nothing on the calendar for today but there are rumours that the kitchen cupboards are going to be ‘sorted out’ with a view of giving anything that has not been used during the past couple of years to a charity shop - that puts paid to that fancy veg peeler spirolizer thing and the ice cream maker then. That Daniel Craig is retiring it seems and in a trendy pink jacket borrowed from Austin Powers and the Keir bloke was spotted reading the whole script of The Kings Speech with no signs of ‘doing a Kinnock’ down on the beach.

Art bit - playing about with colour. Hope your day is not as wet as mine but it’s a good opportunity to test the resilience of that waterproof coat that might need an airing. Time for a koffy.

5.3 this morning. Mr K is doing a very important job at the moment - resetting the boiler temperature on Hive as the house is freezing. He doesn't feel the cold so didn't realise it is freezing. The temperature has suddenly dropped and it is really cold here.

Creative stuff for today.
The same photo as yesterday, but I played with it in Procreate to try and get a Cubist painting effect. I don't think I succeeded, but I had some relaxing fun! If you could just see the face yesterday, then it is actually still there on today's picture. This looks a bit more like a harlequin effect...

That face which had been on the camouflage netting, has now gone. We had a bit of a downpour yesterday, and that shifted the camouflage netting. I went to collect my meds yesterday (because the worst downpour was to be today and so I thought I would collect my meds whilst it was safer). But, as I turned a corner at the bottom of my steep hill, there was this poor bungalow that had this torrent of water running through it, the back garden and bungalow. And the road was flooded badly. So a bit of careful driving, and I got safely to collect my meds...

And today's rain is supposed to be much worse...

Good move getting the meds yesterday. Fabulous effects in this stunningly harlequin image.

Good morning everyone even the cold, wet or eccentric ones who haven't yet posted. My fbg was possibly the 4.6 Swipey insinuated - <12 gms carb should do that according to some hereabouts. @dunelm spot on with"just goes to show that you are better making your own food." Clearing cupboards - job for skips in the end. That Kier bloke at least has a far more attractive wife than him that is full of wind and hiss. I'd also buy a used car from Kier. @Krystyna23040 our hive and boiler are having a trial separation for heating - I assume a new pump is required. British Gas homecare arrive Saturday - fuel permitting obs. Anyhow, not October yet so heating stays orf. I do miss the wood burner. @gennepher glad you got the meds, hugs for the wet, wet, wet replays. I'mma loving the free watering for even more grass seed. Hands, face, space, Dr Pangloss.

6.45am FBG 6.1 overeating yesterday.
Took Errant to the vet this morning.
He has an infection. Vet not sure where it is located, ruled out several possibilities, does seem likely to be his throat though. So antibiotic jab, Errant didn't like that! And a course of antibiotics tablets to start in two days time. The vet was kind and gentle with Errant. I am greatly relieved that there was no huge expense or difficult decision involved.
Errant was obviously displeased with me when we got home, ducking away from a stroking hand, but has forgiven me now. Even though I was mean and refused to let him go outside. He has retired to a box in the bathroom. A nice long sleep will probably do him good.

Hi dunelm,
I see your Bittern was seen from the RSPB watchpoint flying over the reeds to relocate itself at 1745.
I should have mentioned around dawn and dusk they are the most active.
Such hours I see as unsocial hours nowadays.

When i was young they were really rare. A friend and I rode our bikes from Lincoln to Earles Pit Barton on Humber where one was located in the county back then. Didn't see it but my birding friend and I had plenty of energy at 16.

Still doing pretty well from my viewing point. Pace kills not distance. Exercise snaking is very in vogue (other magazines and Madonna chunes are available from all good outlets and some absolutely rubbish ones) also the (over?) ubiquitous Moseley geezer and many others.

Hi all
We both get our flu jabs later this afternoon.

Think I have found a guy who will do my garden for me, he came to see me this am!

Nothing seen here although I am assured that a Little Bittern was spotted here in 2018 and luckily recorded

Oh well if it’s in vogue then we must snack at once - or is it twice each day?

I thought you went looking for a Bittern a few weeks ago but didn't see it.

Sorry it was Saltholme Pools RSPB at Middlesboro reported on Birdguides last night,
I guess it will be a little off your patch?

Don't those Drs on the internet who have the ultimate answer and are really snake oil salesman, who never seem to get to the bottom line, a real source of annoyance. If they don't get to the point in a few minutes I chop them off. They need to consult a taxidermist.

Ah, we did go on a Bittern hunt - but nothing seen. Saltholme is just up the road a bit, on the other side of the estuary and that is where it was last spotted in 2012.

Yes, they offer to tell you one simple ‘discovery’ and then waffle on for 20 minutes before telling you how much it will cost.
