October. Can put the heating on now, except there Isn't any. Well only in the shower room. Underfloor heating has been installed in the kitchen, but the power supply is insufficient to run it. Something is being done about this soon. The electrian will visit again later this month.
Errant seems a little better this morning, he has almost recovered his appetite, helped by some horribly expensive soft food. I was shocked to realise that the pack of six sachets was only sufficient for one day. Plus a snack. A cat of Errants size (4kg) apparently requiring five sachets a day. Sorry Errant you won't be living on that in the future. This morning he ate almost all of his normal breakfast.
His voice is still horribly croaky though.

Edited to add: the vet told me about a virus that is common in cats that have been strays, I think he meant the FIV virus, but didn't catch the name. Unlike the English vet who wanted to do xrays and blood tests costing over £600, this vet said there is no need for the blood test because there is no treatment for the condition. A sensible decision.

The wonder wheel of bacon wrapped stuffed chicken came home to roost at 5.2 this am

Mrs Miggins has been busy and almost managed to block in my art table with all the surprising things discovered in the attic. Lots of paper records going back to the invention of the spinning jenny so an incinerator may be in order. Or shall we use the log burner and pretend that we are burning top secret documents? Charity shop benefited from all manor of useless kitchen gadgets that were such good ideas when purchased but then did nothing to improve culinary skills or food taste. I wonder if we will uncover some K Tel albums in the attic?
A clueless Captain, a spirited siren and pompous petty officers. No wonder they’re all at sea. No, not the govt this time but HMS Pinafore by ENO at the London Coliseum. We are in London for Remembrance weekend, wonder if we can fit it in?

Art bit - not quite what I had intended but never mind. Hope your Friday is a splendid one. Time for my first koffy of the day.

I guess you sussed out the new supply capacity and how much it would cost to install and run before putting in the final works.
Digging out the base and putting sufficient insulation underneath the heating matrix and in the walls and roof would be costly in an old property. Your guy must be a dynamo.

I am glad Errant is eating normallyish again.
Sounds like you have a sensible vet who is not going to fleece you like the English vet was trying to.

Popeye, because of his age I assume now, sometimes has a dry mouth, so to get his daily tablet down more easily, I give him a tiny bit of cod liver oil on a teaspoon to make the tablet go down more easily. He still needs mummification in a towel for me to administer that though...

Since this CO2 shortage, I have still not been able to get the small loaf of bread I like that does not higher my blood sugars.

So I bought a basic bread maker. Trying it out this morning with a ready mix multigrain bread mix from the Co-op for the first attempt. Used half the packet, but had to find a jar large enough to shake it completely and then my postage letter scales to weigh it out...

It looks like around 11am I should have my first loaf of bread....

I do need to research more to make the bread I need, but I have got the whole thing working for its first attempt.

There is a very wide range of bread flours in the Polish shop. So bought a spelt flour, a buckwheat flour and two I cannot identify yet, but both have pictures of bread on the front. I have dried yeast. Years ago I used to know a baker who gave me some of his fresh yeast, but nothing near me like that now. I did find a live sourdough thingy on Amazon. But I will explore that later.

So experimentation is going to take place. I hope it doesn't rise my blood sugars too much in this experimentation phase.

I can use that 'Tasty Pee' (as translated by Google) Pâté on it. I tried that pâté yesterday, and it tastes good.

Here is the sunflower again, fartnarkled a little in Snapseed, and working hard to create her sunflower seeds...

Hope that the heating is sorted quickly - if I remember rightly, electric supply in France is fazed power and needs balancing throughout the house. Better news about Errant and clever French vet saving you hard earned cash to spend on gourmet moggy food.

This morning, on my camouflage netting, I see a floppy eared rabbit...which I suppose is appropriate for the first of the month...

That is what I will have to do @dunelm slice it and put it in the freezer, because there is nothing I love better than freshly baked bread.....

Yes, the sunflower does look very cactusly round the edges. It is like it is protecting the seeds...
It does look wispy washy in colour at this stage of its life, which is why I gave it a whirl through Snapseed...
Not sure what to do about those sunflower seeds yet...

October arrives with a dark, cool, wet Friday morning - boo, hiss. Howsomever, I'm alive, 'tis salmon day and @karen8967 's meme is already here. God is indeed good. What isn't good is Swipey's 5.6 from <14 gms carb. My first rule of thumb from mucho reading was >5.5 or 100 spelled danger long term. I could be like our dear leader and deny any agency for the reality staring everyone in the face but my ideology, biases (pride?) and concern for anyone except myself led to the choices of eating and doing as I do. The responsibility for the poo show of the version of Elsie I have negotiated lies squarely with me. The difference (between me, him and those I admire) is I genuinely believe in what I'm doing and accept responsibility. Hugs for lack of heating @SlimLizzy we are in the same boat until, hopefully, tomorrow. I'm the cold one here but shorts, no socks (thermo reg top though) it still is for a while. Thanks for the art @dunelm. @gennepher best wishes for the bread. We have a breadmaker which I use to make skinnybread. Elsie and bread (like much else - just how do you make an Elsie casserole edible?) aren't exactly compatible, made or bought. Stay dry and accept no blame it is the age of DARVO.

The Church in Norwich has installed an air quality monitor and it looks as though we only need the windows open a crack when we use the air con heating. I have bought a monitor myself so I can monitor my other venues.

.Last night the eastbound carriageway of the A47 was closed. A lorry had overturned on the Easton roundabout. Luckily I was OK westbound. A truly huge number of emergency vehicles were at the scene.
