What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

lol point taken. (for the dog's or cat's protection from BBQ grills etc.!) For some they'd want to prescribe a cat or dog; for others they'd do better to proscribe either.

I agree about the old state stuff. There should be protest groups in Washington and at Parliament. Seriously.

@SaskiaKC I love the idea of a happiness meter. Mine would be a very big number - I wake up happy every day these days. In no particular order this is why
1)I have a lovely family who all get on and laugh a lot.
2)I’m retired.
3) I’m 2 years post cancer diagnosis and still alive
4) I have a puppy!
5) I have diabetes which has led me to this most informative,
interesting and entertaining group of wonderful people.
6) I have a puppy ( I know I’ve already put this but he is worth a second mention)
@PenguinMum I love the Diatribe name!

You forgot Dennis

Wispa rode her Vispa
to play tennis with Dennis
who lobbed lobs at Bobs
which made Daisy crazy
which Churchill took ill
enough to harry Harry
for being a bit Plumpy
and a bit grumpy
and barking at Popeye,
"Stop! I say, cat! Did
you see Sid
and Trixie?"
While down in Dixie
the KittenCat sat
and said "Enough of that!"

Wishing you a very happy special birthday. Hope you enjoyed the day.

I was sorry to read your recent posts. What a traumatic time you are having. Very glad your tooth problem has been sorted. There is no pain like dental pain. I used to work in a dental emergency dept. For you to have to suffer for such a length of time really is unacceptable but at least you are out of pain now.

What a day that day. Having an opticians appointment prior to dental one.

What strength you have. I always think that from your posts. You have an excellent optometrist. He really knows his stuff. Very thorough and this should give you reassurance that you are in good hands. You can find out so much more on the subject on here and the internet in general. It's a mine of info. And the support on here is second to non I find.

I hope everything settles down for you now and you can relax a little.

Hope the feather string painting went well and your pupils left you some strawberries and cream!

Hahaha brilliant Saskia

You have good reason to rant. Type 1 is very challenging and so frustrating. I hope your readings improve for you.

Thank you very much Debs.
I had a good day!
I am looking forward to a quiet spell...
Yes the optometrist was pretty amazing.
The string painting went well, but most of us ended up with lilies!!! Which was good too. I will work on the feather string painting to fine tune it over the summer holidays ready for next Sept.
There was enough strawberries and cream for all!!!

I need my potting shed and cat for a long rest now!!!!

I have enjoyed afternoon tea at The Ritz. It was indeed a wonderful experience. A present from my sister to my hubby for his 50th (I tagged along!). But I do think afternoon teas are over rated. Yes, the setting is usually very special, the crockery and cutlery so beautiful and traditional. The service second to non. But to be expected to eat that many cakes in one sitting is obscene, then sandwiches on top (not literally of course). Could I be tempted to go again if I wasnt insulin resistant? TOO FLIPPIN RIGHT I COULD.

Thank you everyone for your birthday wishes.
@HarrisonK @pavlosn @MisplacedIdentity @trick60 @SaskiaKC @Bildad @johnpol @DJC3 @dunelm @ianpspurs @Viv19 @jjraak @shelley262
@geefull @PenguinMum
and I am sorry if I have missed anyone out.
The wishes and everything made my day special.
Tooth is healing just okay...it’s just the places the pin pricking anaesthetic was put in that still hurts a bit!!!
The art group went well. Lots of experimenting. Not so successful creating feathers, but a lot of other great effects. However by next term I will have worked out the string effect feathers!!!
Strawberries and cream was good. A few kg strawberries were consumed. I was the only one who had double cream. The others all had various low fat yoghurts on theirs.

A brilliant day, and I promptly fell asleep when I got home which is why I am only just posting before midnight...

Better go to sleep before the bewitching hour...

Sleep soundly all of you. Have a good nights sleep.
Take care x

It's just past midnight and we have arrived at our London hotel.

Everybody else is dressed up to the nines and looks ready to hit the town. We are about to hit the sack after suffering through a five hour flight. Party animals we are not (anymore)

Good news is that the hotel overbooked so gave us a free upgrade to a larger nicer room (allegedly).

My first count in the UK is a 4.9 so very nice indeed, though we are about to have some room service after not having any of the food on the plane.

Almost forgot, I went for my tests this morning. Other than when I used to be blood donor many moons ago, I never had so much blood taken from me in my life and with my aneamia I did not have that much to spare in the first place!

They litterally filled up about 12 to 15 different test tubes, all color coded with different color stickers. In the end no blood would flow in the last test tube so I told the very attractive lab assistant that i obviously run out..

And it was soon confirmed that I had indeed been blead dry when I was presented with the bill 1400 Euro, which is about 1300 in good old Sterling.

The most I ever paid for tests before was a couple of hundred Euro but apparently I am having lots of more specialised and thus more expensive tests this time round. Lucky me!

No results yet.

I will try my best not to think about them until I go back to Cyprus. Don't want them to spoil my holiday mood.

Good night all. Talk tomorrow.
