What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Fbg 6.6

Yesterday I went to England to meet my friend. We ordered our food from the screens. I went to clean the table and chairs, as I always do, but there were no hand spray and no blue disposable towels on the shops's sanitary station. Someone else must have it I thought. So I always carry a supply of stuff with me so I use my own stuff to disinfect/sanitise the table and the chairs.

We talked. We had our coffee. But, when we came to leave I noticed that the woman who was cleaning the ordering screens and tables was using a tea towel, and not only that, she was wiping all the screens with the same tea towel, then she went on to the tables wiping them with the same tea towel and she didn't have any sanitiser/disinfectant spray.

Is that the new thing to spread Covid as far as possible and to as many people as possible? I despair. England is doomed...

We noticed that the sanitiser in the shops had gone as well, no one was wearing masks just us two. We are going to be pariahs soon.....

I have no desire to go over the border to England any time soon.

Where I live in Wales the cafes near me have not still not opened for table sitting down (that is all cordoned off), but they do takeaways.

Creative today...a kind person sent me a link to insert the palette knives in Procreate. Thank you.

I imported the palette knives. This is a very quick 10 minute tryout and play with those palette knives using the same picture as yesterday.

My plan is to use the same picture the next few days, and hopefully improve my technique with these palette knives, and find what they are capable of.

Be good. Avoid all people. Avoid all ordering touch screens. Avoid life....

Interesting times when you venture abroad - we are still using masks when out and about, even in cafes - mask on, walk to table, mask off. Interesting work with the palette knives and look forward to seeing how they work for you.

Thanks very much @dunelm

Hi everyone,

5am start today as I am babysitting my sisters little ones. Fbg was 5.4

On the plus I am down 50kg since July 2021 :) still got some to go but a huge milestone.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day
An amazing achievement. Definitely a huge milestone.

5.5 this morning. Relaxing with a coffee.

Although not bookkeeping trained my sister has taken over the work that my friend has been doing for my little company for 22 years. I don't think that my friend will be back for a long time as she is shortly starting radiotherapy for the bowel and bladder cancer and then she will have to have a series of operations so they can fit bags for the bladder and bowel. She also really needs to have chemo but the doctors think it is too risky for her in her current state of health.

Definitely a really sad time but good for my sister as she is finding that having something new and challenging to focus on after her husband's death has really helped. It has been really nice working together trying to work out what needs to be done.

Greetings one and all. Swipey stays boxed until it is clear the inter-disciplinary team agree just what needs doing, in what order and maybe where (Hospital) to my back. Partial feedback yesterday from a whole series of blood tests suggests I may have made some sense of the confusion around managing T2 by LC without spoiling the Big Picture. PSA numbers said to be excellent. I take one metformin despite A1cs all being below pre-D since starting due to the implied help from work such as this. Not clear how much Metformin is needed but while Drs content to leave me alone I'm not inclined to be an LC purist to the detriment of my all round wellbeing. @dunelm that seems to fit well with the big picture vibe - thanks for the art. @gennepher wonderful, detailed art. Thank you so very much. Sorry you had to find out that way just what a mess Operation Save Big Dog makes of a mythical England. It will probably take at least 2 generations to undo the damage from him and The Fruitcakes. Gym yesterday was good as was M and S steak and haloumi chips. @Jojo85 amazing weight loss you must be delighted. Excellent way to celebrate by spending time with your sister’s children. We have care of God's gift of two granddaughters all day then the Superspreader event that is school pickup for No 1 grandson. Stay as safe as living in the theatre of the absurd will allow if you are in Ingerland.

The hug is to be shared between yourself, your friend and your sister. Your fbg is, as always, excellent so no hug needed there. Both your sister and your friend have unimaginably difficult times ahead and being you that will always be a concern for you. Take your rests and realise the limits of your ability to care for others. You can't give someone a drink from an empty jug.

There really are no words to express the sadness of all this but I wish your friend well and do hope that you and your sister find much positivity working together.

Afternoon all
Yesterday 7.1
Today 5.0
Stay safe it’s dangerous out there.
My 4th jab is booked, yes that’s right 4 jabs. That tells me the bright boys and girls still acknowledge its dangerous out there.

Thank you @ianpspurs. Am getting a bit better at taking more rest time. You are definitely right that I do have to take more care - especially as I am getting older.

Based on the attached she will almost certainly be our next PM. Full on Fruitcake :banghead:

Good morning,

An unsurprising 5.9 this morning at 7am.
I had almost doubled my carb intake yesterday (not on purpose). I'm usually comfortable at 20 - 25g of carbs but I would say I consumed almost 40g yesterday. Oh well today I will get back on track!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Mock at your peril..

Yesterday two greattits came to visit. Looked like a couple searching for their next des res. The sparrows got on with them. Mrs Blackbird said 'Other side of the garden please. This side and space is mine'. Mrs Blackbird and Mr Blackbird have the huge honeysuckle and clematis bush. The little birds, sparrows, wren, and robin have various bushes and trees. So, they have the tenements.

My wee little female bluetit is still flying with the sparrows. I think she thinks she is a sparrow. A beautiful sweet male bluetit did come in and spent three days trying to win her over. But alas, my little female bluetit showed no interest at all in him. And went back to playing with the sparrows...and he left.

Creative today is using the palette knives I now have in Procreate. Also using the same base photo as yesterday. And getting a little nearer to my original vision of a few days ago.

What am I doing today?
Anything that makes me smile!

Have fun!

Good morning everyone from under a splendid looking sunrise here in the dark and dangerous north.
Well, that’s the fitted wardrobes, well, fitted. A day of rest from tradespeople today - good job as we still don’t have a tradesman’s entrance and it has only been blokes so far. Next week it’s the plumber - we are living in a version of the nursery rhyme Rub-a-dub-dub. A funeral to go to this morning. No one that I know but a 100 year old veteran who will have scant presence at his open grave service if volunteers don’t turn up. Then the dangerous mission of meeting up with two of Mrs Miggins’ aunts who we have not seen in a couple of months. Daughter’s birthday also so there me some movement in that direction.
Art. I sized a sheet of rice paper last night and it looks like I may have overdone it. We will wait and see. Meanwhile another landscape in portrait. Reward yourself with a very satisfying Friday. I must make koffy while at the same time, not disturbing the girl in the bubble.
