What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good luck at eye clinic .

Interesting about the geese (mil , Lidl & otherwise )
Not a meat I've ever had, I don't think ..mmhh

Cheers

Fantastic results for you @alf_Josiah ...very pleased for you.

As for the rest ..made I chuckle

Afternoon all.

A day of much moving to & fro for hospital & other important appointments..I wish you all the very best in each endeavour or rendezvous ...

I however will be mainly having a relaxing day today

Yesterday was my big day with surgeon's ......aaagghh.

But what a great result .

NO second op.

Bone now mending....yehaaww

Does say 9-12 months still to get back to where I was before accident (overall health, will still left with some impairment from that day )

So a moment to celebrate.

Off to lunch, me & Steph hit Chinatown, old fav restaurant

2 Duck noodle soups, salt & chilli ribs for me, spring rolls for steph & two drinks

Bill shock of near on £40..been 3 years since we last went (last time nearer £25)..but she insisted her treat..<Heart>.

A slowish cruise through the crowds to a fav pub nearby, a couple of Guinness's (salut, mum & dad)

And then back home

A long, exhausting day,..but memorable for lots of good reasons.

So a fbg of 7.7...seems reasonably acceptable .

Feet up & chilling with furry nephew snuggled up on bed beside me

Tomorrow is soon enough to begin my next stage back to life as I knew it.

Take care all.

Wonderful news from the surgeon and yesterday sounds like a great and very personal way to celebrate for the two of you. Forgot to say congratulations to @alf_Josiah on the outcome of recent medical tests. My eye appointment had to be rescheduled as the pre-infusion bloods for tomorrow hadn't been ordered and no test, no infusion. Bloods now done so I await a telephone consultation tomorrow, about half an hour before we must leave, to give the green light. What larks chums. The attached error? Much safer living out in the country - ya think? Just up the road on a route we take as some other roads are closed just now.

Hope you soon feel better gennepher.

I have mine on 8th October.
Best wishes.
Derek

I saw my eye specialist this am. The eye capsule is rather opaque but the operation was a success. Have to wait three months for the eye to stabilise then I have Laser surgery on the lens capsule.
Can't rush these things, it's unfortunate the first eye surgery was botched at Preston last year.
Going to have to get used to monocular driving by very short runs to garage shop 2 miles away

Not an easy sounding operation @lindisfel ..but liking how you're dealing with it .

Hoping it comes good as you predict and doesn't interfere too much with driving in the meantime.

Best wishes, fella...

Steady as you go - a good, cautious way of learning about monocular driving.

Good morning everyone on a rather damp squib of a start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. I have finished my virtual walking tour of the Amalfi Coast so just sitting about, enjoying the view and sipping wine until my sister catches up. What next we wonder. She had the results of her latest PET scan yesterday - somewhat mixed; a number of the tumors have reduced and one has gone but a new one has popped up in her colon. So, six more sessions of chemo. She is viewing this as extension rather than cure. I will see her again in November when I go back to France. Meantime we may walk the Cotswolds or even climb Everest.
Art bit - what! More stairs? I hope that you all have a most wonderful day and if it rains, that’s the car washed and the garden watered so put on your welly boots and splash in the puddles. Best get the koffy on.

9.5 at 3.30 this morning.
Just on my 2nd cup of tea and thinking about breakfast and wondering whether my jab today will be a single one or double. There is a phone number from which I could get more information; it says so on the back of the letter. But it was discontinued in May. Helpful.

Hug for your sister's disappointing news, @dunelm and a thumbs up for the beginnings of the new steps. Watching with interest.

Fbg 8.1

From the effects of the Covid jab, I got worse as the day progressed yesterday.
I got sleepier and sleepier. It began to get frightening. And a weird thing. Time stretched. Each time I looked at the time, only a few minutes had passed, but it felt like it was an eternity since I last looked at the time. Each time I fell asleep, it felt as though I had slept a long sleep, but I had only been asleep a few minutes.

There was no beginning nor end of time yesterday. It was just a huge void. With no constraints of knowing the time of day. The actual figures on the digital clock meant nothing to me. They were numbers with no meaning. I didn't have the capability of of putting even one thought in my mind, let alone two thoughts to be able to do something.

There was no past, nor present, nor future yesterday. I remembered nothing of the past. It was just this present moment, which had no meaning to me, played for infinity. Normally my mind is going all the time playing flashbacks of the past, and ideas of paintings, and my mind plays little 'videos' of stuff I did with J, and more. This is every day, all the time. My mind never stops. But my mind was an empty void yesterday. I had no substance.

This morning, I have woken up and it is like a switch has been flicked. I think I am on the way back to normal. I shall find out as the day progresses.

Thinking about yesterday scares me. Also I am not sure if I took my tablets, or fed the cats, or fed myself.

So, no work done on the trail cams, nor videos posted. Can't do a drawing or painting yet this morning. But I can point and shoot at that lone sunflower. Creative is a photograph of the sunflower.

A cuppa tea now...and my tablets...
