What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Try as I might, I can't see that gazelle.

Official notice....Coconut milk is quite acceptable in tea. You just have to keep your eyes shut because it seems to separate out a bit but it doesn't affect the taste.
Gazelle like on my Asus chromebook cx1500cna-ej0026 screen but maybe "you had to be there"

good news on being warm and cosy this morning. Once again Mr K sets the bar impossibly high for the rest so we can but trail in his wake.
@ianpspurs I am absolutely sure that you would do the same for JKP.

I must admit that it was so lovely to be chauffeured yesterday. It is getting a bit scary on the roads in Norfolk at the moment as there have been so many serious accidents lately.

You really have no idea how independent - can't spell, pronounce or comprehend the word, concept or thought of stubborn, family trait - she is do you? I'd offer then somehow pay for it for the rest of my life. Plan A is my go to. My guess is Mr K is a superstar at that as well.

Afternoon people.

An unsettled night.

So 7.0 on the button, I'll take that, thank you kindly.

Docs called, agree antibiotics needed.

Lauren collecting for me .

Rarely get bad headaches but woke this morning head pounding ...eased now thank god.

And still feels like I'm draining a small lake of phlegm.

Green & thick.
But it feels easier than yesterday, so hopefully over the worst & on the way to recovery.

Sunny, dry & less chilly here in capital.

Stay safe all.
Good that you have antibiotics. So Lauren was right :)

Mr K is definitely a superstar at that as well.

Morning all on what began as a wonderfully clear blue skied start here. Earlier there was a light that, even if only a mirth, gave a strong hint of something I can only imagine awaits. Neat little twist on now we see darkly. Tea and toast run done, dogs seen to and dishwasher emptied - good boy badge given by Duggie. Specimen passed the test so lights, camera action goes ahead Monday. @gennepher amazingly detailed information for @Annb and wonderful use of language in describing life In The Night Garden. No Hahhoos or Pontipines though - we're Iggle Piggle fans here. Thanks for the creative which sent a chilling sense of a world not right, not as intended, through me. Might not be what you intended but clearly had an effect. Perhaps a complete contrast to the light I saw here which is much more what I imagine The Maker intended pre-Fall. Perfect cover illustration for how the exam question on how to respond to 2008 has been hijacked (DARVO on steroids) by the r/w shock doctrine (secular Amos 8 imho) chancers. Yes Naomi but I do like my labels, sorry but as I have my weaknesses and deliberate faults I just like labels because, by and large, they fit, last, feel comfortable and usually aren't British. @Annb good news if the meds are starting to work. @SlimLizzy I hope the sink hunt goes well. @Krystyna23040 I hope the church hall warmed up well. @dunelm thanks for sharing the developing artwork and hug for the cramp. Do your best with the hand you are dealt today even if the pack has been doctored and the game is rigged. Low Carb cocoa and Live Life toast sounds like a plan to me but what do I know, what do I know? I hear Davos is nice this time of year.
Thanks for the compliment @ianpspurs and happy to take the daily dealt hand. We too seem to live in a world where The Night Garden presides and have even named our twin granddaughters The Ninky Nonks. Unfortunately our 3 year old girl in the bubble seems more fixated upon Peppa Pig and Coco Mellon - what will become of us all?

Good morning everyone on yet another international bin day here in the dark and dangerous north. Far more work getting done by our bin collectors than by those suits in Davos, is that why Jacinda is resigning? Just done yet another lateral flow test - still negative despite my best efforts to look the part. Mrs Miggins is turning her attention to the garage and has already sold the now surplus bike rack, which is a good thing as taking bikes on holiday only for them to laze about all day was so counter productive. Also, it was one of those that connects to a tow bar and such fun when reversing. Art bit, more texture to the staircase to who knows where. Have a great day if you can, I shall begin mine by cleaning out the wood burner but first, some koffy.

FBG 9.7 at 3.30 this morning. Still 9.7 at 6.30 and again at 7.25. That's after pills with yoghurt, tea with coconut milk, a glass of coconut milk and 2 crumpets with butter. Can using coconut milk instead of cow's milk really make that much difference? This really bears some thought.
Coconut milk - no. I can’t for the life of me think it makes any difference unless someone is lactose intolerant or says that they are to be trendy. Also, I believe that coconut milk has fewer nutrients than dairy milk. While many brands of coconut milk provide calcium, vitamin A, vitamin B12 and vitamin D, these nutrients are all fortified. I wonder how it gets to our shores from such places as Indonesia and India - are we propping up another industry over our own dairy farmers?

We all react differently to foods @Annb
For example with me, those rice cakes (polystyrene cakes), they will raise my blood sugars, but buckwheat cakes (crumbly polystyrene cakes), they will actually lower my blood sugars by at least 1, maybe up to 2, a couple of hours later.

6.8 this morning and 6.8 yesterday. Still not back to normal for me numbers even though I am sticking to 20g carbs. What is good though is that I have lost 3½lbs of the Christmas vacation weight.

We decided that it is too cold for 16 year old Archie to go on the early morning dog walk at -2°C outside. I will take him out later. He is happily snoring on his bed by the radiator while I drink coffee and Mr K and Poppy brave the freezing temperature on their walk.

I had forgotten it was bin day...I've missed the recycle...there's always next week...

I wonder where the spiral staircase leads to @dunelm .....or where it's come from....

Tricky time of year I think for lowering blood sugars, mainly due to circulating bugs and extra medication - just a thought - no evidence! Well done Archie - cling tightly to that radiator.

Not much in our bin this week as we have been away but it shows support for the bin folk to put it out. No idea about this spiral staircase - I would consult that crazy Dutchman MC Escher but unfortunately he passed away.

It is so interesting how we react to different foods. Our bodies are so complex. There is definitely no 'one size fits all '.

For instance, the majority of people seem to find drinking coffee late in the day affects their sleep. If I can't sleep I drink a cup of coffee and it helps me fall asleep really quickly and my fitbit shows that I get a really good night's sleep. So my cure for insomnia is most peoples cause of insomnia.
