The night on the nighttime wildlife camera begins with Foxy Loxy.

Where is Cat Jade?

The next shot shows a new cat I have not seen before. It looks rather worried.

Then, along comes Ghost Cat, number one, who is a big ginger tom, and can be aggressive.

The cat interloper immediately snarls and goes into defensive mode.

Foxy, Loxy comes back, and the cat interloper tries to make himself hidden, he is on the right hand bottom corner on the screen on the swing, but cannot always be seen. The Interloper stays there all night, and will not relinquish that spot.

But then Foxy Loxy incurs the Interloper's wrath who lunges for Foxy Loxy's face when he gets far too close. Foxy Loxy was interested in the cat biscuits, which are always on the swing for cat Jade. Foxy Loxy has never tried to get at them before, but he seems to be hungry this cold snowy night.

Suddenly, a pair of foxes appear, a male and a female (?). And they are also interested in the cat biscuits, but dare not take them.

Jade suddenly appears, and she seems to understand that there is another cat on the swing, but there was no footage to suggest why she left the swing that night, unless because of the snow and the cold, she had decided to go and sleep in the garage that night. Jade creeps round to the back of the swing to get on the swing to get 'her' cat biscuits. The Interloper realises Jade is there and watches her.

Each time the cat Interloper opens his mouth to snarl or yawn, you can see the steam rising in the air.


When I went out in daylight (this is not on the video), there was a skinny hungry ginger cat who was not relinquishing his spot on the swing for anyone. I presume as an act of submission to me, he averted his eyes downwards from me.

So, the whole cat/wildlife dynamics on the swing appears to have changed...

What happens now?


Creative was begun in ZenBrush3 on my Pixel 4a, and then I finished it off in couple of other apps. I could see the hidden cats on my Pixel 4a, but JPEG's lossy effect may degrade the faces...

I'll see how it posts...

Time for a nap now, because there was so much footage from Monday/Tuesday night, that it took me 4 hours to look through and edit, because there was constant action all night...

What will last night's wildlife camera show?

Blood sugars this morning were a disaster darlings, a disaster. A 4.7 on the meter of doom. Calculating me, me’s and myself insulin dosage will have to factor in the outside temperature as well as the usual stuff, perhaps I will need two tea bags in the tea bag reading mug this morning. Low temperatures cause more energy usage and low blood sugars if I’m not careful.
Calculation carried out and coupled with a good old guess. Insulin administered, breakfast eaten now for a covid test, then Wednesday life can begin factoring in safety koffy.

Once again thanks for all the help on picture rotation and I hope you enjoyed Mrs J’s multi coloured cat.

Now it’s time to wish you all a good day, stay safe, stay warm.

What a splendid start to the day - no supermarket trolley dash or half hearted koffy in a cafe and you can now proceed to prepare for bin day. Smashing multi coloured cat from Mrs J.

Good morning everyone from a bright, sunny yet cold start here in the dark and dangerous north. Not a hint of snow here but that is par for the course despite the machinations of the entrail readers at the Beeb. They need to embrace more modern tech and get a Pine Cone and weather stone. No wonder Ken Bruce has decided to leave. On a good note thought, news of his impending departure has knocked the winging ginge off the top of the non-news spot on anti social meedja. Art bit - starting to add some texture. Have a whale of a time today if you can. I started the day by practicing my skills at Cramp Dancing - all the rage dahrlings, very fru fru. Koffy, must have some koffy.

Snow! Not a vast amount, enough to cover everything and look pretty. The birds are keen for their crumbs, but unfortunately Kiki noticed the robin and was very excited about it from the other side of the glass. Errant used to ignore birds. Having been disabled for years he had learnt they were uncatchable. Kiki being young and agile might manage to get one. But we hope not.
Meanwhile am planning to use the slow cooker today. The oven parts got caught up in a cyber attack on Royal Mail and were returned to sender. Along with millions of other parcels. We might get them by the end of the week. Fingers crossed. If the snow does not get too bad we need to go to a nearby town to buy and collect a kitchen sink. I'm not sure MrSlim thinks it's a good idea, but at present we have no draining board and the new to us sink includes one. Solving one problem and creating another. How to fit a considerably wider piece into the units. Bit of forgery required no doubt, but at €15 it's not expensive.
@gennepher when I had dry eyes used some kind of artificial tears, but your problem sounds much more severe. You are amazing. Your courage and cheerfulness despite multiple health issues are inspiring.

I heard, on some TV programme or other, that cats are not great at catching birds. Apparently the only ones caught are the old or sick birds which would probably die soon anyway. Bird populations haven't been depleted by predatory cats. Don't know if they are right but our Jimmy was always catching birds so either he was an exceptional hunter or we had a lot of sick birds around here. As far as I know, he didn't kill his catch very often - he just wanted to play with them so I would have an opportunity to take them away from him and release them. Our other cat, Coco, was good at catching mice, but I never saw him catch a bird. Maybe he was too bright an orange for camouflage.

Do I see a third cat beside Midnight? Love the grey layers. Looks very Scottish/Hebridean.
 
FBG (2.30 am) 7.4 - stayed fairly low all night and was only 7.8 when I checked again at 8 am.

Coconut milk seemed to work quite well yesterday so Neil has made some for me in his new machine to try today - should work out a lot cheaper and it won't have any of the additives in it.

Dryness has improved again, but is still there. I have some Optrex and will use that until someone can get to the pharmacy for me. Had mushroom soup for breakfast so that will help with the fluid level along with water and coconut milk. I've ordered stuff from Amazon which I hope will not be "sugar free", ie containing artificial sugars but these products seem to be few and far between.
 
Morning all on what began as a wonderfully clear blue skied start here. Earlier there was a light that, even if only a mirth, gave a strong hint of something I can only imagine awaits. Neat little twist on now we see darkly. Tea and toast run done, dogs seen to and dishwasher emptied - good boy badge given by Duggie. Specimen passed the test so lights, camera action goes ahead Monday. @gennepher amazingly detailed information for @Annb and wonderful use of language in describing life In The Night Garden. No Hahhoos or Pontipines though - we're Iggle Piggle fans here. Thanks for the creative which sent a chilling sense of a world not right, not as intended, through me. Might not be what you intended but clearly had an effect. Perhaps a complete contrast to the light I saw here which is much more what I imagine The Maker intended pre-Fall. Perfect cover illustration for how the exam question on how to respond to 2008 has been hijacked (DARVO on steroids) by the r/w shock doctrine (secular Amos 8 imho) chancers. Yes Naomi but I do like my labels, sorry but as I have my weaknesses and deliberate faults I just like labels because, by and large, they fit, last, feel comfortable and usually aren't British. @Annb good news if the meds are starting to work. @SlimLizzy I hope the sink hunt goes well. @Krystyna23040 I hope the church hall warmed up well. @dunelm thanks for sharing the developing artwork and hug for the cramp. Do your best with the hand you are dealt today even if the pack has been doctored and the game is rigged. Low Carb cocoa and Live Life toast sounds like a plan to me but what do I know, what do I know? I hear Davos is nice this time of year.

By the way, before I was diagnosed and got meds for my problems, I used to suck ice cubes when my mouth was horrendously dry, and my throat seized up. I always had small ice cubes made up. I might have tried some lemon juice in them.

I did see cats and just above your signature I'm claiming a gazelle. I'd be amazed if one of they began using the cat flap but never say never.

Birds usually die after being caught by cats because it passes infection from the cats mouth to the bird.

Try as I might, I can't see that gazelle.

Official notice....Coconut milk is quite acceptable in tea. You just have to keep your eyes shut because it seems to separate out a bit but it doesn't affect the taste.
 
Afternoon people.

An unsettled night.

So 7.0 on the button, I'll take that, thank you kindly.

Docs called, agree antibiotics needed.

Lauren collecting for me .

Rarely get bad headaches but woke this morning head pounding ...eased now thank god.

And still feels like I'm draining a small lake of phlegm.

Green & thick.
But it feels easier than yesterday, so hopefully over the worst & on the way to recovery.

Sunny, dry & less chilly here in capital.
