What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

6.2 this morning. We are having a relaxing day today with lots of reading. The weather is just not nice enough to do a National Trust parkland walk and we don't want to overdo the walking while Poppy is recovering. Surprisingly the dogs are happy with this.

Very interesting that dropping carbs to around 12g a day immediately dropped my resting heart rate to just above 60. On higher carbs it was running in the mid 70s. No idea why that should be.

Have done 6K steps so far today.

Good thinking about the dogs, and liking their 2nd opinion approval too .

Interesting re resting HR.

Ongoing inquiries here for me.

Been a few concerns raised about mine, as resting HR sub 60.

Awaiting some other tests back, but so far seems nothing of real concern, except that number being low...mmmm

Interesting that the low carb 'may' have had an impact.

Take care whatever you do

Hugs to poppy & Archie

I think there is a causal relationship between living and dying!;)
For now Derek, for now. Word is it is all due to an all pervasive condition called sin but people's mileage may vary. Spoiler alert: It is still Friday but Sunday's coming. Hold on, it is a pale reflection of the Sunday to come here in Little America. Limited time offer though Ts and Cs apply, see website for details. ends at midnight unlike the SCS sale - which surely must actually end soon? @alf_Josiah the glasses quip was tolerable. Those grandchildren seem to have done you a power of good. @gennepher thanks for that creative. A scorpion in a sheep's eye - surely not?. @Annb good news on the bread. Were your pain killers there and collected? @dunelm I'm glad the return trip was wonderfully uneventful. Thanks for sharing the latest lighthouse which, as has been said, looks remarkably precarious. @jjraak when I read this I couldn't help thinking of your similar journey and where you are now. Besides, we like Brancaster very much. MIL returned here yesterday. I took her tea this morning - didn't wake her, the dinky travel mug keeps it hot for hrs - and she has eaten some toast. Grandson is clingy but temperature normal and PV gone. TBTG for both :woot: Not quite the original New Deal here. No chicken in every pot: a chicken in a roasting bag - proper oven ready deal. Like most of this close we have 2 cars but a converted garage. Sorry Herby baby but life has moved on. The passage of time makes (this) one wonder which of the Three Desperados stalking The West will be forced off stage first? Too greedy to hope for all three? Enjoy whatever parts you can of your pilgrimage today but don't tie yourself in knots trying to pretend every day is wonderful. We none of us are "there" yet.

Thanks Ian, yes my pain killers were there and Alistair collected them for me. So all's well. BG has now dropped towards too low, so I clearly didn't need the full dose of insulin. Keeping an eye on it. Actually very hungry, so I could eat something else but that might mean eating 3 times today and I didn't really want to do that. Ah well, needs must. (sigh) ;)

Glad you have MIL back in your care - I'm sure she'll do better with yourselves than in any hospital. Glad your grandson is recovering. A sick, feverish child can be so worrying. Been including you and yours in prayers - don't know if it does any good but it is worth trying.

Slept little last night - after an hour and a half in bed, I was wakened by a bad dream (someone crept up behind me and held a gun to my head, demanding money). I cried out, in my dream, and woke myself up but though I tried, I couldn't get back to sleep. Got up at about 2.30 am and sat with a cup of tea, flicking through rubbish Freeview TV, but giving up and just sat until it was reasonable to start doing things.

Sheep's eyes are very expressive Ian
Who knows what they are thinking....

Great to hear both MiL & grandson seemingly on the mend.

Prose very fitting, thank you .

Enjoy the day .

Enjoy the peace of a reading day which should help both Poppy and yourselves. Resting pulse is interesting. There does - allegedly - seem to be a growing consensus that 50 is the better lower level. Personally, I like mine to be <60 on Fitbit. Slightly more carbs than Keto level seems to be better for me - around 60 full fat or 30-40 net (yes, I know that would creep in to Keto :arghh: ) - on that, Fitbit stress levels and all daily health metrics it covers (br, Spo2, hrv. skin temp, rhr) Full bloods for me this week - no cholesterol but spot bg - so will be interesting. Cronometer (the app I use for analysis) gets very confused with some foods in European mode. The databases it uses are US based. Mushrooms' carbs way above uk values - even net carbs - for example. Unsurprisingly, I tend to use the Waitrose nutritional values as a better guide.

It is interesting that athletes and highly fit people may have normal resting heart rates of 40 to 60 beats per minute. Hopefully your sub 60 is nothing to worry about.

Interesting that slightly more carbs is better for you. It is so good to know exactly what works for us. I also find the Fitbit really helpful to track what is going on.

Was up stupidly early yesterday (4:36am 6.4 ↗️) and in order to get my treadmill in before a shift at the golf club it's another early swipe.
05:08am 6.3 ➡️
Not bad considering I went from golf shift to BBC shift and then devoured a Thai takeaway when we finally got released after the F1 finished.
Lots of compression lows but nothing much I can do about that but interesting to see how many times I switch sides in my sleep.

Once again it is morning in Little America, how you doin' ? A grey start to what promises to be a chilly week even though we have shrubs a shrubbing and buds on the bijou fruit trees. One way or another - no royalties for Debs - there is lots of data being mined from wearables around here which just wasn't available before 2007. Whoop seems to be the trending device of those ITK. I'm now debating whether to start wearing a Libre and/or using Stabbington Minimus. @RFSMarch bravo for the exercise and good that the Thai takeaway didn't upset Swipey. @dunelm and @gennepher thanks in advance for the sharing your art. Here are some poems you may or may not like to read - ignore the theme if it helps. Attached is a question the C of E feels we should casually drop into conversation - would be quite a zinger for interviews with politicos. I sincerely hope this doesn't find you as it leaves me since, with one obvious exception, y'all aren't as mad as a box of frogs. Have a nice day and y'all come back real soon now, ya hear?

Well, since I'm not likely to meet 2 people today - what do YOU think it means Ian?

I would ask my cleaner when she comes, but I know what her answer would be - "a man spending his time at home criticising his wife's efforts at home making but taking no part in it himself, and then leaving her to bring up their 2 children on her own without contributing to their upkeep." It is one aspect of sin - shedding our responsibilities to succour those around us. There are worse sins, but in my book, anything that deliberately harms anybody (even ourselves) is pretty sinful.

BG at 2.30 am 10.9. That's because it dropped to 3.1 yesterday evening and I started to feel shaky and sweaty. I had half a jelly baby and then a slice of whole meal bread and butter. By the time I got to bed - about 11.30 - it had risen to 5.4 and was clearly on the up and up. Maybe I should cut the emergency jelly babies into quarters instead of halves.

Weather here is a bit strange. Looking out of our back windows, it is snowing a bit but the sun is shining brightly. Looking out of the front windows, there's little wind, but enough snow for a blizzard.

An interesting question, but I’m with the Buddhists on this one.

Good morning everyone and welcome to the curtain twitching anticipation to the as yet not delivered freezing spell here in the dark and dangerous north. Word on the street is that supplies of 7Up have dried out in Liverpool and cans of the substance are now worth more that three tomatoes. Some shops are even restricting the number of cucumbers you can purchase at one time. This means that Mrs Miggins will have to visit several suppliers of such things in order to make my beauty masks. In other news, Boris is now staring in a re-make of the film Chicken Run where we will all chortle at his efforts to find a more receptive seat conducive to his gargantuan fibs. It’s life Jim, but not as we know it. Todays job is repairing the Velcro fasteners to one of Mrs Miggins’ jackets - I have to use a needle threader these days, should have gone to Specsavers. Art bit, on with some detailing. Have a smashing day if you can, wrap up warm, winter is/isn’t/could be/ maybe coming. Time for koffy.

Attached is the official line which came with the question. I'm pretty confident exhibit A would find the man guilty as charged M'Lud - unless his honest repentance and his faith in his Saviour ended all accusations. Your definition is succinct. There is, though, a strain of "this is for your own good and you'll thank me later" running through the OT. Your eyesight must be good to see a quarter Jelly Baby.
