What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

You may remember this from the Advent poems - seems to reflect your area. Knox would approve. This is what we heathens down here are doing. Cromwell would not be amused. Local lad for me - I taught lessons in his old home. I hope your knees improve.
Yes - I do remember that poem. It impressed me at the first time of reading and still does.

Over commercialisation of the coronation was inevitable, I'm afraid, but it's good to see people finding something to celebrate and enjoy. Not for me - not my kind of thing, although I seem to remember enjoying the party that was held for the last coronation in a more innocent time.

Although I lived in Canterbury for 15 years (from 4 to 19) I never heard of the plum pudding riots but I doubt the rest of that report is accurate. 3000 soldiers might have been sent TO the Westgate Towers to break into the city, but not from. It would struggle to hold 30 soldiers squashed in like sardines in a tin.

From talking to my sons and hearing their children Millennials and Gen Alpha see her as Queen. Gen Alpha has no idea who Dianna was - C of E academy strongly pushing King and Queen line. No clue about the Catholic one in Winchester's line. Millennial parents have bigger worries but children excited and see it as important. Seems to mirror other major fault lines - not just quiche. Also, trans Atlantic crowd here in L.A (and in media) hugely amused by whole thing especially quiche and that pledge.
Pledge, very good for getting floors nice and shiny (and slippery).

I have been asleep all afternoon.
The bedroom door was open to the garden, but it is very warm despite the rain. It is 19C now. Too warm for me.
Now to play catch up.

Not happy the blood sugars raised despite eggs. Again not usual. Just have to wait and see what Fbg brings tomorrow. But I do feel sleepy when in double figures.

I might go back to eating in a 4 hour window again. Just talking aloud here. Thinking. I'll just try some older strategies which helped at the time. I think I preferred eating in a 4 hour window (early in the day) when the weather was warmer.

That server guy has a lot to answer for in deceiving me.
And I am now designing a card which I can give and leave with wherever I might eat out in future. And it is proof I have told them. Although the plan is not to eat out again. I do not want to risk it. Or, if I am being 'sociable', it might just be coffee or tea for me while others eat, because there will be the odd occasion. And maybe a few nuts in my bag to nibble...

Most nights there are many many 2minute clips of foxes and badgers, but this night it was the turn of the stray cats.

Yellow Archangel. It seems only to have a shortish flowering period.
I find it pretty.

Hope you all had a good day.

I did enjoy my afternoon sleep!

Thank you that despite having a difficult time for a few days now you still produce and share superb creatives. I do hope you can soon fully return to your normal self.

Good morning everyone from another overcast and damp squib of a start here in the dark and dangerous north. Must be all that spinach being squeezed out throughout the land for Coronation quiches causing so much dampness. I wonder if there is a quiche line somewhere that divides the quiche eaters from the quiche dissenters? Will quiche dissenters escape to the new world I wonder and where exactly is such a place. No quiche, no King! Ah, the importance of quiche. I shall not be indulging in such frippery instead it will be a traditional Yorkshire afternoon tea, a high tea if you will, not a Picky Tea. Parkin, Fat Rascals, Curd Tarts and rhubarb fool with York ham, crab and cold leftover Yorkshire Puddings covered in jam. Blood testing kits will be running for cover. Art bit - that’s the details inked in. Hope your day is good to you. I have already consumed koffy.

And winner for the inked in drawing @dunelm

OK. Pride comes before a fall, doesn't it? I thought I was tough, but here we are - taking paracetemol to deal with the after effects of the jab. Cold, nauseous and headache. BG is high and I don't want to bother with food. Never mind - it will pass in a day or so. So much I wanted to get done today too.

Take it easy @Annb
And sleep what you need to sleep xx

Happens to us all @Annb

None of us know what tomorrow brings

We just assess the current situation and roll the dice

Likely you might have been as right as rain on another day.

But you're now a little down and needs some assistance..
So sorry you're hurting but really, it's no big deal.

Pretty sure we've all been there, done that AND got the T-Shirt at some point

You aren't the first
And won't be the last
To think like that....

( Just don't ask me how I know :bag: )

So get better soon
& Best wishes

Wonderful creative. Good idea to carry some “safety snacks” with you when being sociable.

Happened to me but only after my last jab. Mainly slept for two days and then was right as rain. Paracetamol definately helped. Hope today is better for you.

Good morning everyone on a mixed bag of a start here in the dark and dangerous north. Forecast is gloom but dry up here but not so down in Mordor. Indications are that rain will begin at around 10am - wonder who ordered that in. Have to nip into town at 9 for pre-ordered pork pies from butchers and then around the corner into the bakery for scones. Candlesticks not required. Still awaiting local election results, is there trouble in the counting house? Bus pass renewal application made yesterday. Only remembered as I had a notification set on my phone and a notice written in big red crayon pinned to our “stuff to do” board which acts as a replacement short term memory. Art bit, colouring in. Hope you all have a spiffingly good day. I shall of course now go and make koffy.

Funny sort of day in Cumbria with a thick mist limiting view to a few hundred feet. Not been sleeping well last few days but last night slept better.

Looking forward to the band's and marching today.

I could see me as the type who come the recruiting sergeant and a piper in former times to the village to get the lads to accept the shilling, would have been taken in easily.

Morning all from a sunny start to the Feast of Saint John, Evangelist ante Portam Latinam here in L.A. I'm wearing my usual Coronation clothes, always wear the same shorts and polo shirt. @dunelm thank you for that majestic artwork. I hope the provisions run goes well. @Annb, @gennepher and @Krystyna23040 I hope the aches, pains and gippy tums don't impact you as much today. @lindisfel glad you slept better last night - enjoy the bands and marching. Stay calm, drink tea and coffee (with proper cinnamon), eat guacamole, make/don't make quiche but avoid broad beans.

I couldn't do without all the phone reminder notifications now @dunelm
How did we manage in the olden days...
I need more reminder notice boards. I don't have the spare time to do/carry out all these reminders...

Beautiful ruin...reminds me of places I used to go with J and my first hearing dog...memories...

Enjoy that coffee...
