What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

7.8 at 0245 today. 8.8 by 0630. That's because I had to get something together for taking to an unexpected event and all the time I had, or the materials, was to take some lemon cupcakes out of the freezer. They seemed a bit dry after defrosting so I decided to make them into lemon drizzle cupcakes. Made some lemon syrup to drizzle and, of course, had to check that it had worked with one of them. Hence 8.8. They were OK so then I finished them off and am now waiting for my lift to Stornoway. No snow here yet.

Edit: delayed by and hour and now the snow has started.

6.4 this morning. We went early to Sheringham Park and had a really lovely long walk.

I was so tired on the drive there that I kept dozing off (just confirming that I wasn't driving). Last week had been a very very busy week.

On the drive back home I felt full of energy and rejuvenated. Almost like my batteries had been recharged. It is amazing how just walking amongst the trees and looking at the lovely views of the sea and the park can have this effect. We also had some lovely chats with fellow dog walkers.
 
No FBG, just too busy, then forgot, then too late, cos I had eaten!
Had #1 son with #3 & #5 in tow, dog a recent addition to his family had a fun around the footie pitches. We had a good chat and update on our family. But we had to dodge the rain, on and off all morning, a cooling breeze (icy) blast from the North.
Then #3 son appeared with #4, #7 & #8 and a lot of fun ensued. Games and play are good for the mood and the soul. Cheered Mrs L and I up a lot.
Got me feet up before kitchen duties. Watching with @ianpspurs the footie on box.
Growing colder, rain never far away, maybe the snow @Annb is getting. Good for the grandkids, but not for us old codgers! My fingers will not warm up enough for the arthritis to stop the stiffness, nagging ache.
Knackered but who cares?
And my view of a clear sky and Orion is always enjoyable @lindisfel.

A late reply here.

Day off ...so a nice lie-in awaits.

Until I'm awoken by Lauren, very early doors, heading out to a gym class,
Flouncing in to wake me with the breaking news of the day.. "lights out in bathroom" .....

Likely unintentionally but definitely in a delicate tone others might not quite detect, that somehow, in some way, it's my fault, sleeping prankster that I am.

Ok, bleary eyed, I get up slowly, but it's an easy fix ..right.....

Oh what a foolish optimist,

Bulbs a circular contained unit, but it's the draw pull, that's not working.

Small steps, screwdriver ..aching at each turn of the screwdriver, as shoulder is unable to reach up so far above me easily...and other hand is too poor to hold & guide a screwdriver into place.

Clicky thingy for light switch so NOT working.

Up & down I go, as i to try to fix it.

Finally get it working but it needs swapping out to be properly sure.

Then, it's back to bed.
Pointless doing fbg after that.

So I took my FBG just before dinner tonight....

A PB since accident of 6.4.

3 lamb chops, a mix of Pak choi & broccoli....dessert of blueberries, low cal jelly & double cream ... delicious.

Be interesting what the meter says later on.

I agree @ianpspurs - slow cooked roast Lamb shoulder is absolutely divine.

invasion.
C. 20 years ago we had a preroost flock of over a 1000 birds near Dalston church, Carlisle.

However I am getting better I have many good days birding in front of me.
Can't think of any better way to meet my maker, with my bins up to my eyes seeing a big flock of pinks take off.

I ordered a couple of extra battery packs anyway, so I could keep it on all day if I wanted, and still have one fully charged battery pack. And if we get a power cut, then I can still charge my devices from them...

They would have said in my day, she has got her head screwed on right!

We used to go to York a lot before the pandemic and all three of them wanted the house really cold. A heated waist coat then would have stopped the cold being an ordeal.

Well It’s 4AM and my fbg is 7.3 it -2 degrees out but the heated throw is keeping us warm Keiran’s 29th birthday today so bought him a cake but thinking about it now it maybe a bit of an empty gesture as not sure if he will brake his ultra low carb regime in order to eat any.
Have an appointment later today with the BMW dealer to discuss upgrading the new car’s spec that we have on order.
I have been thinking of taking a drive up to Bakewell to grab a photo or two of those Wax Wings if they are still there It’s not far from here. And the camara needs an outing.
