Sorry to hear that dunelm the sooner it's removed the better, he should not wait.Thanks @lindisfel - on retirement my dad was head of Psychology at Bristol Royal Infirmary although he was always in the garden when not working, fiddling about in his orchard that he built up using strange sounding varieties - unfortunately this is melanomas. My mum is very concerned as my sister’s cancer started with a mere tooth ache and despite three series of treatment, she could not survive it.

I have lost so many decent clips trying to trim, split, cut, splice and all that palaver...I give this app one week of trying and if I get nowhere, I have another app lined up...
This video is a mess, but it's my best effort while I am learning...

There was a Small Tortoiseshell in my kitchen. It had just hatched out. So, I let it out this morning.
This might be the second butterfly I have seen this year. The first one was awhile ago, and I think that hatched out in my garden. It was a Holly Blue. I 'll check the garage and the potting shed later and see if any have hatched out and I will guide them out.
It is usually Peacock butterflies that hatch out here, I have loads of nettles. And Cabbage Whites - usually all their caterpillars devour all my tree kale and tree cabbage, but this year there was not one Cabbage White caterpillar. So, this year, for the first time, I am able to harvest my kale and cabbage in the summer. In fact there has been no pests or caterpillars devouring anything this year...
The kaleidoscope is of the tortoiseshell butterfly...
The sun is out at the minute but we are promised thunderstorms in a wee bit...

Birds aplenty out on the footie pitches, different varieties of gulls, pigeons, doves, blackbirds, sparrows, magpies, and a few more. It's because the footie pitches have been seeded.

A bad night, a nightmare, a bete noir which was horrible.

And after it not much sleep. Have done chores at a snails pace, just so lethargic and tired.
It started with myself and two friends, I don't know who, but with me.
We were being chased by three persons(?).
My friends took on two of them, I found myself running down an entry (alleyway) into a basement flat, and I hid as one searched for me, it used a probe to disturb me. It came through the door and I threw it back out, but I was really tired, sat down, when a prescience sat next to me whispering calming thoughts.
He moved closed and became a part of me, all the time, helping me to relax and letting my body accept his comfort. I use that word, as he told me he was the comforter, he was preparing me for what follows.
I became totally immersed in the presence.
My whole body was enveloped and I couldn't move, my legs.
Something inside me, didn't like it. And I was gonna have to do something.
But it resisted, I started kicking with my feet, it was still trying to tell me to be comfortable in his presence.
I got my legs free, then my arms, pushed with all my strength, then I woke up.
My heart beating heavily, sweating, palpitations, heavy breathing and a lot more.
But I was so scared, frightening, anxious, through the roof.
My first thought was, what if I hadn't fought back and woke up?
Is this the way it all ends? The comforter, what is he? Is he real?
Not heard of it before.
So why am I dreaming about it?
Is he a reaper?
Or just another of my weird dreams?
It was horrible
My second thought was Mrs L, so I can assure you all that I didn't win that battle.
But I'm still feeling from that nightmare.
I've had bad experiences in my dreams, including being injured badly in them.
But this is so scary.
I was gonna do some painting, no way!
I am wary of falling asleep, even downstairs.
No appetite, no energy, not want to do anything!
Not me!
I know that, after a good night's sleep, I will be my old self.

Some insects have not had a good year, it must be said @Annb, but these highs and lows are a feature of insect ecology.BG at 02.20 today was 8.8. I know why, so it's OK.
I was interested to see that there was to be another round of the national butterfly count and thought I'd check it out but realised that I've only seen one butterfly this year - about a week ago. Other than that, nary a one.

Beautiful tree sketch @dunelmGood morning everyone from a dull and overcast start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.4 this a.m. and it’s so wonderfully quiet. Whitby yesterday turned out to be a very warm and sunny day although the sea was a bit choppy as we headed out of the harbour after lunch for a little touristy turn up the coast and back. I have no idea the amount of times we have done this little boat trip on what looks like The African Queen cunningly disguised as The Yellow Submarine but Mrs Miggins always happily manages to get repeat sets of images on her phone camera. After, she headed to Ye Olde Sweet Shop where the ‘mind the step’ sign on the door really ought to read, ‘sharp drop into the oubliette’. Lovely day out and so pleased that Mrs Miggins had a smashing day of it after the dismal days we have had of late. Art bit, is it a tree? Hope your day is a pleasant one, this side of the turf is usually a good sign. Best find some koffee.

It might look okay to you, but I am very aware how many good clips I lost in the editing....

Creative...my comfrey in a Laboscope Kaleidoscope, in the rain.
It has been raining since yesterday, but hasn't reduced the temperature. In my garden which is currently 19.1C outside...it's 22C inside in my bedroom, and 24C inside in the rooms at the front of my bungalow. That attic definitely holds some heat...
I will throw all doors and windows open when I get back...but the planes going over mine to the Southport Air Show on Sunday (a Spitfire, and a WW2 Swordfish which was closely attended by a helicopter) often use Hawarden Airport as a base. I often see bi-planes go over mine as they come into land or take off from Hawarden. Last year the Red Arrows used this airport as a base and I saw them from my garden. So, I am reminded of the diner there which I haven't been to since before Covid (my arthritis group used to meet there, but they disbanded during lockdowns.
You do have to go up to the security gate in person, sign and give your car number (without looking back at it!!!), although with the disabled badge they wave me through...
