What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Indeed @Krystyna23040 and @gennepher. Wouldn't it be easier and more pleasurable to make a nice salad dressing? A teaspoon of balsamic vinegar (no more), some garlic (if liked) plus garden herbs (at this time of year we are spoilt for choice).

Sunday's FBG 4.6 on waking at 6.00 am.
Yes, I have plenty of garden herbs...no balsamic vinegar.i will have to look @LivingLightly

If this is right Southern Europeans should have very little joint pain?
Having said that I don't have much joint pain myself but I do use a lot of Lidl extra virgin.

Don't like drinking it but I do use enough cooking which improves taste when heated.
D.
Good to have you here and contributing Derek. To add to the olive oil discussion as per @LivingLightly I use 3 tablespoons on my salad* dressing, which is almost a fixed part of my diet, with a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar (organic, with mother) and 1 tsp of Dijon mustard. Also use it in cooking - only really ever fry salmon on Friday to make the skin crispy, but all roast veggies are coated in it (put in a bag and tossed about to coat)
*Base salad attached: I add avocado, fennel, red chicory, zoe daily 30+ and toasted pine nuts. Fills a large bowl so the dressing doesn't drown it but it must go in first - I have a packing order, leaves last - then coat everything before adding sprinkles. Usually cut up the protein source and mix in. Probably duck breast today. That meal is about all Elsie Keto has to offer me in terms of comforting food/good vibes - it is the taste of the vinaigrette I think. I'll only eat from plain white crockery at home. The table covering is JKP's idea, I'd obviously have plain white.

Fbg 6.5

No Wildlife Nighttime videos for maybe a week, or longer.
I had intended giving up at Xmas this year anyway. I had intended giving up last year, but I was persuaded to go on another year to Xmas 2024.
I don't know what the problem is this time, but I edit the video in iMovie.Everything seems fine. I have spent an hour and a half editing. Then downloaded, and half the video is missing, that is it is just black. I wasted all evening and half the night re-editing the video and downloading again, but the same problem. I tried using less clips...half the video was still black when downloaded, yet it was fine, all there is the app as I edited.

I deleted the app, reinstalled it. That took to 4 am this morning. Tried once more, choosing clips, re editing it. It was fine in the app, downloaded it and half the video black again. The blackness appears sporadically in the video after I have downloaded. So, I have wasted this morning, until 9 am now.

I had things planned for this morning, sorting, rearranging, tidying, clearing out, and for this week. So,near this has taken all my energy for today. I have used up all my spoons (Fibromyalgia). Nothing left to do what I had planned today. I am drained now.

I like a little bit of a challenge, but not an impossible challenge which slaps you in the face whichever way....

So for the next fortnight, I think, I will concentrate on trying the kaleider app, and some paintings....and doing the stuff I need to do to rearrange this place, revitalise it. I would like to move (other rubbish going on) but that is not possible (it might be oneday) I'm not talking of downsizing, I am talking of a bigger place....you can downsize too much...

I am so sad because I enjoy watching these night time videos, and posting on YouTube and Instagram, because they are there for me to look at, my memories of Pa Badger, Foxy Loxy and all the others.

I will explore another app, but this is taking all my available energy away.....

Creative in Kaleider...is from a photo I took earlier in the year of some daffodils I had in a vase.

Have a good day.

How long have you been using it, please? @Krystyna23040

Sunday's FBG 4.6 on waking at 6.00 am.
I upped my EGO intake about a month ago - using a cheaper EVO from Aldi that is much milder.

Started using the stronger EVO about a week and a half ago.

Have also noticed skin is also softer and not so dry.

It is definitely more pleasurable to make a nice salad dressing with it but we only have a salad 2 or 3 times a week - not every day.

That is such a shame @gennepher. I really do hate technology sometimes (actually quite often).
It is so annoying that you can waste hours and hours of very precious time trying to fix it.

Enjoy your Monday everyone.
That is so healthy @ianpspurs. Also you definitely don't need to add any extra EVO as you already consume a really healthy amount.

5.6 this morning. Our trip to Gooderstone Water Gardens was so relaxing yesterday. We strolled around the paths and sat on the many seats scattered around the gardens just taking in the beautiful scenery.

When we walked into the cafe we heard the words 'here comes the sausage roll man' and our coffee and Mr K 's sausage roll were ready in the blink of an eye.

How frustrating for you and how typical of you to not want to be beaten. My money is on you mastering kaleider and either IMovie or another app. Meanwhile, your short term plan sounds excellent. Despite all the obstacles in your life you are a beacon of hope. Thank you for sharing the wonderful kaleidoscope. Hopefully a rest will act as a magnet for a few more spoons.

I genuinely have my doubts whether this way of eating is healthy but having read about the outcome of starvation for treating The D back in the day in Fung's book I opted not to go there. :playful: I chose Keto chef's bread and rolls because they use extra virgin olive oil - ingredients attached. Good bread dipped in flavoured olive oil is another way to up one's intake. Just googled this recipe which I may run past the Food Fairy. Not today as she is making these two for me. Keto flatbread and Burnt Basque cheesecake - @dunelm's DIL made one which set me on that path. Besides, it is International Dog Day and eating this way I need “an .... opportunity to feel something more than contemplate something, ebullience over dread,”. Everyone needs a Food Fairy - mine found, more an "ambush" arranged by mutual friends, me (the 2nd time) at the rugby club:)

I happen to like a touch of balsamic @gennepher, but you could use white wine vinegar or apple cider vinegar if you have either to hand. Some like salad dressing made with sherry vinegar.

With a small quantity like this, organic garlic powder is quicker than a finely crushed portion of a garlic clove.

Like you @ianpspurs, I serve a salad virtually every day, sometimes twice a day in warm weather.

When making sufficient for more than one serving, the addition of wholegrain mustard or Dijon mustard takes a little more blending but acts as an emulsifying agent which helps oil and vinegar combine. I'd avoid English mustard though as it will overpower every other flavour in the dressing!

Fresh herbs like oregano, tarragon, parsley, chervil, mint or thyme all work well.

Easiest way to combine is to put your dressing ingredients in a lidded jar and give it a good shake.

You can. I agree. I love and hate it in equal measures...h
But technology gives you a reach, from home even, that you could never have before.
And a reach to abroad where communication takes microseconds, literally.

Thank you very much for the compliments.
And for appreciating the kaleidoscope.
Hopefully a few more spoons might arrive late afternoon....
Thanks...

Ah, I have apple cider vinegar to hand!
And I have organic garlic powder @LivingLightly

Fairly obvious why this struck a chord with me but the sentiments are worth sharing when we live in a world where algorithms feed the basest instincts and leaders with very dubious motives snuff out the light. RIP Svennis.

Gardening done.
Chores done.
Food done
Playing with #7 & #8 done.
Tidying garden done.
Mrs L dressed and watching the Edinburgh castle shindig, wailing away in agony.

Sven was a decent bloke.
But he wasn't English to our little Britain media and racist fans, xenophobic idiots.
And how my clubs owner had a part in his downfall, allegedly!

Gorra go, Scottish tea required in front room.

Diabetic eye screening done and dusted today. Sore eyes still from the eye drops. Arranged a proper eye test for a couple of weeks hence.

Hard work, having to transfer from wheelchair to the optician's chair and then shuffle from one room to another, using the wheelchair as a walker. That done, Neil took me to the garden centre to get some new plant pots so we came out laden with an assortment of clay pots and saucers for them - me carrying them and Neil pushing the chair. That was all enough for me for today, so I slept all afternoon.

Really brilliant recipes - although I urgently need a Food Fairy.
