What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

5.6 this morning.
Today is my day for staying in my local area - so no trips to Norwich.

Who do I believe - Met Office or BBC weather.
If Met Office is right Poppy will get her walk behind Beetley Village Hall before I start classes. However, BBC weather says no - it will be too wet for a walk.
Following MeteoGroup's latest bungle which suggested hurricane-force winds had hit Britain, I'd plump for the Met Office @Krystyna23040. The BBC should have stayed with the Met Office in my view.

Alternatively, pick the one you like best. Very often, you can glean more from looking out the window!

Thursday's FBG, 4.7 mmol/l on waking at 6.00 am.

11.10
8.35am FBG 4.7
@ianpspurs of course semolina and marmalade are in no way LC and probably produced a massive spike. However it seems if I am mostly LC, (100g carbs per day) my body can cope with the occaisional blow out on carbs. Perhaps because I am prediabetic it is less sensitive to them.
Very groggy this morning. Message from a friend at 6.25am. Woke me and I didn't go back to sleep.
Have long list of jobs to do before yet another viewing.
Yesterday reboiled marmalade, simmered and cooled tomato sauce, portioned and froze celariac&carrot melange. Decided not to make yellow tomato sauce, will make later. Plan to flavour with curry.
Picked up apples, now need to hide sacks of them before viewing this afternoon.

Time to tackle the list, only essentials, does not include cleaning windows and weeding the drive, but may attempt some of both. The driveway weeds are thicker at the ends, since I started clearing in the middle, by the doors, the ends now look worse than ever, giving the impression that all the drive was like that before clearing. It's a huge job, a little like cleaning the Agean stables, with new weeds sprouting as fast as I can clear. Have applied weedkiller to some of the thicker pafches, but no visible effect.
Right, wake up girl and get on with the list.

I gingerly opened the curtains this morning, are the bungalows still in our road...
Yes they were!!!!!!!

I was about to report a fbg of 4.3 when I got a low glucose warning and a reading of 3.6 mid post at 06.45 am.
Alexa is telling me the temperature is 0 degrees and wind speed 12.6 Km/h and Alexa is always pretty accurate.
Bit odd - the readings - mind you blood sugars can go haywire for no apparent reason.

Yes that’s what thought but as out off test strips was unable to check with finger prick so ignored it mind you some of my meds play havoc whith blood sugars I have found yesterday a I had some carbs bloods went up to double figures then plummeted down to less than 4 think maybe a touch of HR lately big D is baffling.

Good morning everyone on a bright and sunny autumnal start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. No test today as I forgot what day it was and laid in bed awake for far too long. Word of the century for you is Anatidaephobia, the irrational fear that somewhere, a duck or goose is watching you. So now you know what’s been troubling you all these years and there is a special word for it. It’s not listed in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 5th edition, text revision (DSM-5) so probably just a load of quackery. Lots of folk out last night taking photos of what they think is the Norther Nights but more probably a prelude to day of the triffids. Art bit - grey paper, and why not. Hope the sun shines on you today - chuck away the vit D pills and get out in the sunshine - vit D is not actually a vitamin after all. Koffy. Nurse, I need my koffy!

Fbg...whoops... forgot to write that... 6.9

Slept well last night.
Needed that...
Sun out this morning touching the tops of my trees...

Resident pigeon is searching for food... perhaps I could train him to be a homing pigeon and deliver my postcards to all my pen friends with this latest increase in postage...

Plastic/silk flowers give a cheerful outlook. Those wired to the trees cannot be moved easily, but plenty are loosely arranged or stuck in the ground among appropriate vegetation. And I can rotate them every week a few weeks to so I can see a different aspect to my garden.

So far the badger has not taken an interest in them and has not removed them to adorn his den... but I'm waiting for the day that happens.... at least I can just buy some more...

Ordered some more security for my garden and side passage by my kitchen door, which is now basically my front door because it has the security of my locked gates. Actual front door doesn't have that extra security...

I'm still working in getting all these apps back. Some apps point blank refuse to download despite the icon being on the home screen. And the signing into a whole pile of stuff is a massive problem, because this extra security added to everything now, is much more so than when I last signed in. And some are proving impossible to sign in, despite all the hoops they are putting me through.

This pushed me to take advantage of a big deal on Amazon Prime the last few days. I nearly left it too late with literally minutes to spare... I was still deciding ...it was for a chrome book, 14 inch screen I think, I don't have a laptop but I could do with a bigger screen for paperwork and browsing the web and that kind of stuff. It is supported until 2027. And it being an independent device from Apple which caused me so much grief the last few days. I'll pick it up in a few days. The CPU is unknown. One of the reviewers said the operating system was Linux, but this might be potluck. And I haven't a clue what I am talking about here.... It is supposed to be very easy to start up according to reviewers..... you might hear me screaming next week....

Meantime, I am tidying up and making some table space...

Creative is a coffee painting.... I did it while I was drinking my cup of black coffee this morning... tipped coffee and water on to the paper... made a huge puddle... had to dab it all up... dropped a few drops of coffee onto the wet paper... got the hairdryer going full blast.... that made the trees... and here you have it... misty morning in the woods... no paintbrush required.... just your morning black coffee and a hairdryer ....have a go when you are nextdrinking your coffee....

Right, I now have some business to attend to....

Have a good day...

I love this coffee series @dunelm

Look forward to your next one...

Smashing coffee art. Chromebook uses ChromeOS - a cloud based operating system. You will be able to use Google cloud based apps and android apps.

Yes, I agree that the BBC should most definitely have stayed with the Met Office as they are usually more accurate. Actually, I often do pick the one I like best but take my raincoat just in case.

5.5 this morning.
A lovely sunny walk in the frosty park. Met and chatted to our dog walking friends. There is definitely a chill in the air, but I don't mind the cold as long as it is sunny.

Shortly off to get our jabs. Covid in one arm flu in the other. Good to get them done as there is so much of it around at the moment.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and those that imbibe in drinking bowel cleansing koffy.

Blood sugars this morning were 5.6

Here in Tilehurst Towers all is quiet apart from Robert Zimmerman warbling away in the background, his version of like a rolling stone.
Mrs J has gone to get provisions, so I am stealing a few minutes to drink koffy and report in.
Now I must depart , continue with my allotted tasks, wish you all well. Remember a smile costs nothing but gives so much.

Morning all from a gorgeously blue skied, sunny but cold L.A. where the heating definitely kicked in this morning but only because I raised the threshold from 13 °C: cue Shirley B trilling away. @Krystyna23040 I hope the jabs go well. We all had ours last Thursday. No stiffness in the delts for me but a definite uptick in resting pulse which may not be linked but is a suspect of interest in enquiries. @gennepher have mercy on the staff at that health centre they (sometimes/often?) know not what they say from your accounts of your interactions or non-interactions. @dunelm thank you for sharing the art and that new word. Ducks and geese eh? reminds me to look out for a Martinmas Goose from Lidl and take down my duck/goose (can’t remember now) feather gilet (Puma but Pep doesn't wear them)- thank you. @gennepher thank you for sharing the creative - reminds me of a Native American decoration: I know, I know, just humour me (muffin me: that ad is possibly the funniest thing on tv just now) and move along fast. Yesterday afternoon and the evening meal were Goldilocks events but this post is too long already so I'll be back. Super salmon salad day for me so thanks be to God as by His grace one pleasure is guaranteed here. I wish you all experience something similar and more today.

Ah, but one can never be sure it is not just wind. Due diligence by the olfactory system is always advisable as the eyes can deceive one. :playful: .

That and ignoring the "depressing meedja" are how this kind of abject stupidity and evil thrive as per the riots after Southport.

At least one candidate for leader of the opposition claims to be (and is sounding) very Trump Adjacent - mealy mouthed phrase for something utterly vile. Anyone thinking humans are rational, swayed by facts and Science - too many versions on the market these days - is looking the wrong way. It is't social media, modern society, childless cat ladies, The Woke, immigrants, replacement, a conspiracy led by George Soros or any other latest scapegoat, it is human nature 101. I'm not claiming to be any better, just trusting Dawkins/Hitchens and co couldn't be more wrong

:hilarious: :hilarious: :hilarious: :hilarious:

Tho I think it's spelled
Antiduckophobia .....

Just saying ..;)

And on that note, recent holiday.

Geese roaming the streets of that spa pool hotel.

Last day leaving previous year, they gathered around the car as we prepared to leave .

Once in the car trying to move past them carefully.

We must have upset one.

It went full Rambo goose on the cars tyres.

Thought we might have to stop before it injured itself .

But it called off the attack and just sauntered off back the others all gangster like giving it Charlie big potatoes vibe

That one I'm sure watched me the entire holiday this time ....:wideyed: :(

One of the reviewers said the operating system was Linux, but this might be potluck.
Nice buy, I think .

Linux runs most of the world

But I do hear good things about potluck o/s

'out∅f 1.0' is the older version
and no longer updated

I hope yours comes with 'lots∅f 3.0’ Good karma version is said to be the best.;)

Best wishes it all goes seamlessly & offers a decent back up alternative for you .
