What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Fully agree genn.

But I see you have made some progress @gennepher .

Lauren lost her Hotmail outlook account.
Had it since 2009 ish.
All gone.
Had to register a new one

I had similar with googlemail a good while back.

Took about a month to get my account back .

One of the security questions I kept failing on was "what date did I first register & use my Gmail account ? "....wt!!.

Who would remember that, when it's all done online and in app...???

And given the best way to find out would be to search the very app I couldn't log into...aagghhhhhh.

Again the pic squares are not really equal opportunities robot detectors, are they .

I noted when I failed one or two (does not compute, does not compute, kill the Doctor...Dada da Lan Dada da Lan, oooh oooh ....)

Some offer to sound out numbers of letters or numbers on a camouflage background...mmhh

Pants if your eyesight is poor..
Pointless if you're deaf....

Skynet.
Doesn't come like the movies
With Robots, lasers & rogue computers.

It's more death by a thousand papercuts & high blood pressure, as we hurl our devices into walls & out of windows ..:banghead::banghead:
I fully agree @jjraak
I wish there was some alternative we could use that didn't do all this to us.
My heart sinks when those picture squares come up... because I have never passed one of those capita things yet...
Yes you need to be in your account, the very thing you cannot do in order to be able to answer their questions..

Thanks...

Good morning everyone on a damp and dreary start to this weeks International Bin Day Cavalcade here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.5 this a.m. Suspicions about the BBC weather app telling porky pies has proved to be true! I wonder if there is some secret programming code going on here, probably hidden by Micheal Fish who conspirators in the quantum babble now think is an android called Marcellus Cod. So, if you are blown down the road, soaked to the bones and hurled into the flood waters of a nearby river - just ignore it, it’s all a lie - you have already been plugged into the matrix and can now identify as a supper cell battery. Art bit - ink and koffy. Hope your day goes well. Don’t look out of the very corner of your eyes though, you will glimps the reality. Now, is this koffy actually there? I shall put it in a box and it will be both there and not there at the same time.
I am really loving your coffee paintings @dunelm

Best use for coffee there is...

Thank goodness that you have all your password details on paper @gennepher. I have the same - with a cryptic clue to jog my memory for each password.

So pleased that you can now order your prescription.
Well, I was pleased last night, but tried to log in to the north Wales app just now and it wouldn't let me in. Nope don't recognise you it said... You can only register on one device it said. I have only registered on one device. So I have no idea at this minute if my prescriptions have been approved yet.

Once I have ascertained whether my prescription has been approved or not, I shall go back to manually handing my prescription in to the chemist for approval. It is a darn sight easier than having to go through all this again and again and again online...

My list of stuff to check and re check has got so long that my brain freezes when I look at it.. and I retire from this world to the murky dark dangerous places at the corners of my eyes...

Good morning all on what shall henceforth be known as Harry Brook Day here in L.A. or according to BBC weather Florida. Perhaps I was wearing a sensor overnight and it blew off so no known fbg. @dunelm thank you for sharing another intriguing piece of art and your inimitable take on modern life. @gennepher it sounds as though those tech gremlins are being subdued due to your refusal to surrender. @Krystyna23040 four layers already? Here in Suffolk we have our own calendar according to an email from the Kia dealership we use:
If you haven't already booked, there is still time to reserve your place with Donalds Kia Bury St Edmunds on Friday 245h October from the beautiful country barn venue on the Haughley Park Estate.
I know autumn and winter drag on interminably but that is far worse than I imagined. @jjraak no googling for that because I know what my reaction will be

Quite a confusing start to the day here but I hope your day is as wonderful as you deserve or by the grace of God even better than you deserve.
Those tech gremlins are fighting back today at hurricane force @ianpspurs.
I give up until tomorrow...today is doomed...

Right, I had better post...

No FBG this morning... I didn't take it, I had absolutely no sleep last night. Not one scrap, my body was stiff as a board., stress I presume. So I went out for breakfast.. and didn't come back home until mid-afternoon. Then I went to bed and went to sleep. I have no intention of fighting technology today. I am sick of it. It is one step forward two steps backwards. I need some respite from this... In order to win the technology battle...

Don't worry about me, the tiger will wake up roaring tomorrow morning...

Sometimes I need to step back from technology and the world, and play with my plastic and silk flowers sticking them in among, all the trees in the garden, to cheer myself up. I was hoping to find some more while I was out this morning, but there wasn't any, in any of the shops. So Amazon calls me again...

But first I have to arrange some pinky purple wisteria on one of my trees....

And now I have found a use for my hanging baskets, which were to be part of my vegetable garden for next year until my worms got stolen, my huge wormery of thousands and thousands and thousands of tiger worms, and so I lost all my good rich fertilised soil for my new vegetable garden.

I am going to make fake flower (non-maintenance, that's the way these days), cheerful hanging baskets and hang them in the side passage outside the kitchen door, where my poor wormery once was... I seriously hope who stole them are looking after those worms properly. (This is not a joke comment, although I suspect some might snigger). There was a lot of time and effort in feeding those tiger worms to get the quantity, and their size they did have before they were stolen. 10 years work...

The security system I have put up since then works. I put a couple of extra trail cameras up... and alarms on every window. The alarms work well. Someone was knocking on my front window yesterday, which set off one of the alarms. I went to the front quickly, but whoever was knocking at the window had disappeared ...no welcome here.... this morning as I came back in, I touched my kitchen door handle and the alarms went off... brilliant...obviously, I reset them immediately.

There will be a bit more security surprises going up... the hanging baskets will prove useful to disguise that....

My gate is always kept locked, and if you come into that you might be in for some surprises. No, uninvited guests are welcome.

The only reason I didn't give a winner is the lack of sleep. The security systems and the creative plus the I'll be back vibe (first time I've ever seen any part of that, always just heard clip on radio) deserve a winner. In sport there's Warrenball, Bazball and Angeball you have Gennball. Take a break and come out swinging from the hip against them thar Tech Gremlins.

Despite the hurricane warnings, which may happen when Mrs L sees the bill of the last big shop.
The weather this afternoon was worthy of a bit of a potter in the garden and even had chance of a few chapters in the sun.

Been watching, Chelsea detective. Another part of the country that I wouldn't want to live there. Just like Midsommer or Oxford, Cambridge, or the dark dangerous North where Brenda Blethyn looks a bit of a tramp (ish). Or Guernsey, where the impossible happened.
More people were killed than actual residents.
I transgress.

An update on my garden project.
It is in most parts better than I thought possible. The foliage is very good, the growth is decent and the roses are still flowering. Only a few didn't last. So all in all I'm happy with it.
I gonna look for some bulbs to get in before winter.
And I would have thought, it won't be long before the dafs and bluebells start showing.

Enjoy the evening, if like me, footie and darts will be flicked over.
My best wishes to you lot as always.

The NHS Wales app won't let me in without a lengthy session proving who I am each time I log in..first to NHS England, then to NHS Wales.
I could have put my prescription in this morning in seconds.
And my meds not approved, no explanation....

Right...all guns blazing, I will be out tomorrow first thing into that blinking health centre surgery with non-existent doctors.....

Thanks Ian...
I thought he came back with a car or something through those glass doors....
Pretty much me on my mobility scooter tomorrow....

If anyone from that health centre surgery is reading: be afraid, be very afraid.

So, it's not too early to choose some daffodil plastic/silk flowers?
Right, Amazon here I come...the badger dug up all my daffodil bulbs early this year, and something then ate them...

There's no bluebell plastic/silk bluebell flowers on there though...

Just been in a deep sleep last couple hours...feel more human now...
Back to sleep...a living black fur hot water bottle is keeping me toasty warm...cheaper than central heating...but not cheaper than an electric blanket...
Night night.
Sweet dreams....

5.6 this morning.
Today is my day for staying in my local area - so no trips to Norwich.

Who do I believe - Met Office or BBC weather.
If Met Office is right Poppy will get her walk behind Beetley Village Hall before I start classes. However, BBC weather says no - it will be too wet for a walk.

Fbg 7.1

A thunderstorm in the night and I've got a paddling pool around my bungalow again.

Busy here trying with this iPad mini again. I think I've downloaded all the apps again. Quite a lot cannot be downloaded but they don't exist anymore in the Apple store. That's a pain in the neck. Then there is the signing into everything again, but the security is more rigorous than before in many ways. And it is taking an inordinate amount of time sending all these codes and signing and codes to my phone and then responding to those, and one thing to sign in it made me do it three times before it would accept it was me, we'll just do it again giving me a new 4 number code to my phone, it said, we'll just do it again...3rd attempt it decided I was me and let me in...

And and the bank still won't accept my legitimate password and my legitimate code from my secret password... I have this correctly written down and I used this before, to get online in the first place... It goes on to a bot telephoning me, but there is no provision for a deaf person. Except it did say, if you are deaf, then after 30 seconds type in this code number. I did that and I think it said you haven't typed in the code number, goodbye. A horrible voice not clear, and I was using a speech to text app on another device to try to cope. I tried twice, same thing happened each time, and the bot that phoned me cut me off again. I didn't try a third time in case my bank account got locked down.

The chat facility is within the app, and I cannot get into the app to use it...

Pre COVID and lockdowns I would ask someone where I attended most days either teaching, or learning, or someone on the cafe there, for obstinate phone calls. But that never started up again when lockdowns finished. So that was my support network which I assumed would be there pretty much forever, gone. And because my friends ( they were all single, other half had died), went back to stay with their family whether their family was older than them or younger than them, left the area to go back to stay with them during Covid lockdowns and never came back, or died of old age....

One of these days I'll be locked out of everything, as maybe we all might be...be very afraid...

My current plan is to go to a country town a little distance from here and the bank is still there, and I can park outside directly outside, if I get there early enough, which I need. So I'll go there one day next week, but it needs to be a fine day where I can use my mobility scooter to go around the town afterwards... but if I didn't drive, and if I didn't have a car I would not be able to do this... I will be asking that bank if there is some kind of text contact text number or a method of communicating with them if a similar situation should arise again. I have a folder of individual ways of contacting specific people or specific organizations, but they all need to be set up for one specific situation, I cannot prepare for these in advance, because I don't know what they are going to be, or who the calls are going to be coming from.

Creative is a painting I did some years ago. I scrunched up some layout paper stuck it to a postcard and used watercolor paint on this. I remember I quite enjoyed doing this, and I had prepared a whole pile of A4 size paper in this way meaning to do some paintings in the same way. The background color was done on all of them because that was a feature of them being scrunched up and how it dried in the folds. But I never did them, I got waylaid by another idea, but the box of these prepared surfaces are in the garage waiting for me to open them and finish creating the paintings. It's usually during a period of stress where I paint surfaces, or canvases, or paper with different techniques ready to paint on another day. There are about half a dozen, or maybe more plastic boxes in the garage that have all been prepared in different ways, for a later date, but the periods of stress never stops...

Blimey, I didn't means to write this much... The deluge outside is not stopping so I might put my wellies on and go and sit on the swing, in the paddling pool, for a bit...it's okay, the swing is covered....

Have a good day, do something different...
