Velux fitting went well, esp considering the size and weight of it. Artisan returns today to fit another velux, but smaller and in one of the attics, so no scaffold needed. Instead i will be up on that slightly scary scaffold to clean the newly installed velux over the stairs. Why didnt they ask me to do that before it was in place?
Plan for today.
MrSlim will be installing insulation above the stairs.
Tomato plants to go in the ground and a couple of pepper plants too. The garden is filling up nicely.
One good thing more. Yesterday the garden was full of bees, the vast majority being honey bees. Have rarely seen more rhan two at a time before this. Policy of leaving the grass a bit long and not applying weed killer has resulted in an explosion of white clover. The bees are loving it.
Maybe today will be able to get control - no stress eating.

I tried to grow red clover, but all I ended up with was white clover... apparently white clover is very good for honeybees so I have plenty of those as well... the cats like sleeping on the white clover and they are not bothered by the bees... @SlimLizzy

Morning all on a quiet start to the day here as there is no flying today. The fireworks come later. Fbg was 4.2 when checked at 7.51 rising to 4.8 by 9.50. @gennepher thank you for sharing the wonderful creative. Hug for the loss of power and the breakfast causing you issues. @SlimLizzy sounds as though the hard work is taking a toll but some progress is being made. @Lamont D, as said by others my sympathy for your situation and admiration for the love and care you show. Everyone else, have one big, beautiful ..... July 4th

Unfortunately Kiki still chases bees, but is currently sleeping indoors. One day she will get a nasty shock, but I can't stop her.

No electric power since the early hours this morning....
I didn't know whether it was just me. Or, if it was the whole road...
The street lights were not on, but then the sky was just lightning and maybe they've been turned off.
So I went down the road, one house has a security camera normally has a blue dot in the middle of it which shows the electrics on... another house usually has the TV on standby and the lights you feel that was not on so I made the assumption it was not just me.....

I went back to sleep again. And got up in time to put the recycle out.. and then another neighbour was out because the badger had completely messed up with all her recycling and kitchen waste...
She confirmed no electricity...

It came back on some hours later, and the power company came round and started digging up all the pavements....

I was going out for my breakfast, since I couldn't cook anything with no electricity. But afterwards that gave me tummy ache... so I wasn't very happy about that....

I am still sorting out and throwing away stuff... and here's a painting I did sometime ago.... so this is my creative for today....

Night night

I like that creative Gennepher. Sorry to hear about the loss of power, but let's hope they've got it sorted by now. Even more sorry (hug) for the tummy issues. Do you know what it was that caused it?

Shame that they didn't get you to clean the Velux before it was put in, but maybe they realised they would be messing it up in the process. Careful on that scary scaffold. The "optimistic" was for avoiding the stress eating.

8.1 at 03.45 today. Pills, coffee and a doze in the chair led to a BG of 10.7 an hour later. Someone said that coffee has no carbs in it - maybe they weren't talking about instant coffee. Otherwise it doesn't make sense.

Wet and windy today. Not very warm either. The thermostat is set to 17.5 but the heating has come on, so even it must be registering a chill. According to my tablet it is 14C, raining and 16mph SSW wind. My trees say it is more than 16mph, but we are pretty exposed to the west here.

Good afternoon all. My HbA1c results are back. Up from 59 in March to 64. I have received a message from the GP practice saying the doctor has seen my results and they have made me a face to face appointment. I was expecting it to be even higher due to both discontinuing one of my diabetes medications and the lack of exercise due to my foot problem since the middle of March. It will be interesting what will happen next. A lot to discuss in a 10 minute appointment. Best wishes to those who are struggling and those who are celebrating today.:)

Thank you very much for the compliment @Annb

We got the power back, but there's still an issue and they're digging up all the pavements...

I had had a breakfast at Dunelm, and I thought the hashbrowns were a bit weird... so I had a taste but didn't eat them. It looked like they've been microwaved and then shown the grill.. it's the second time I've had of being served a hash brown like this from another establishment and I had a tummy ache then as well so I think it was due to the food being inadequately cooked... I never want to eat or taste another hash brown that looks like that... it's put me entirely off eating out...

Hope your tummy ache is better today @gennepher
Thank you @Krystyna23040
It was still playing me up a bit earlier, but it seemed to have settled now...

The weather is very strange here at the too hot or too cold or I go out and the wind is too warm and then suddenly it's an icy wind.. No idea what is happening with this weather... and that upsets my slightly iffy tummy.....

Thank you @Krystyna23040

Hope you're better soon @gennepher.
And thanks for all the best wishes they do help you lot.
I need to know you lot are there for me please?
It has been very hard and mentally knackered because of it.
We have been assured by the mental health practitioner, from the Stein centre that a place for Mrs L for respite will be found, it might not be the nearest but because of the circumstances and being monitored throughout it will still be on the peninsula.
Today and a very early start, it was preparing for Christmas.
Yesterday was going home.
Wednesday was money
Obsessions are becoming episodic, and more frustrating for both of us and the family who have been brilliant. Don't know what would happen without them.
It has also become apparent that the change in meds since March has become the problem of the increasing episodes. I have asked again for a review. Mrs L is having an appointment in around two weeks with the head specialist.
Lots more, such as asking the housing to review it's decision about our housing requirements thinking I might have to go private to get something suitable.
Still hitting hurdles with home appointments.
Still can't get my head around Mrs L going into a care home, even if it is for a few days.
And it could become longer. That hurts so much. I think I'm missing her already.

Cloudy, very windy, cool and rain imminent. Horrible out there.
My best wishes to you lot as always.

Good that it has settled down @gennepher. Hopefully the weather settles down also.
We had a much hotter day here than forecast Now it is very windy and quite chilly.

Found this painting of loads of flowers...
So this is my creative for today...

It is absolutely pouring with rain at the moment, and it is very very windy. The plants need this rain.... but there is supposed to be zero rain tomorrow...

Night night
Sweet dreams

We have had very weird weather here today one moment it seems cold. Another moment is gone really hot.... and we've exceeded what the weather said our temperature was as well...

I never know what to say that might help @Lamont D. Your situation is awful and it pains me to read about it. The only thing I can do is think of you and pray for you both, and that I do every day. And give you virtual hugs, of course. You are lucky to have your family around you. That must be of some help and support.

It is a harsh, heartbreaking thought to have one so loved go into a care home for even a short time but it is to benefit you both. Mrs L will be cared for, and medics will see, for themselves, what the issues are, and you will get a rest of sorts, as long as you allow yourself to relax a little and look after your own wellbeing. When/if it comes to pass, try not to spend all the respite time worrying about what is happening and how your beloved wife is doing. I'm pretty sure that, underneath it all, you are as loved as she is and she wouldn't want to be doing this to you, if she had any choice.
