What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

5.5:this morning.

I do hate predictive text. How did mah jong become man long

A good journey to Norwich for classes - the A47 opened on time after a 3 day closure for roadworks.

I am looking forward to lunch across the road. Nice that I have a nice long break

So nice to be able to watch the badgers in your own garden @, - even though they do cause havoc. Using bird netting is a brilliant idea

A quick update...

Mrs L is doing better and hopefully home by the weekend.
Lots of things happening for her care when she does. Behind the scenes.
Another long day.
Roofer came and went, need scaffolding. Etc.
Best wishes.

Hope it doesn't take too long to get the scaffolding. Fingers crossed Mrs L gets home by the weekend.

Next page in my sketchbook...
About a week's worth of paintings left in my sketchbook...
Will I finish my bedroom by then, so I can start painting again?

It was a sunny but cold day outside...

Going to sleep in a minute!

Cat Midnight is already hugging my arm....

Good night

5.8 at 02.15 today. Too sore to stay in bed so it was up and into the big chair for another couple of hours dozing under the influence of pills and tea. 5.7 when I woke up again.

Did a fair bit of work on my latest writing project yesterday. A little bit of the actual writing but quite a lot of planning of where we are going with it. I usually start with an idea and let it develop naturally - just following where it takes me, but this time I have an object in mind, so it needs to be planned quite carefully. I had a few weeks when I couldn't get it to move on in the direction I wanted, but I tried to do something a couple of days ago and yesterday really got down to it. Still a long way to go though. Two sections outlined for a couple of following chapters, even some detail, but I've got to get my characters to the next chapter first. Discipline is a bit wanting here both in me and in my characters - they will have to do what I want them to do, not what they want! At least I am seeing them as real characters now and can allow them to let me know how they will act in given situations.

Sorry no meaningful blood sugar readings.

Here’s my day

Good happy Monday afternoon folks.

It’s been a strange old day so far, this morning I had my legs treated and dressing changed, which means it should be a Tuesday. Now before I have my legs treated and dressings changed I dose myself up with painkillers, unfortunately the painkillers mean I am unable to walk safely and converse sensibly, no comments from the back row Attila ( Liz ). It is only now, late afternoon that I able to walk properly and talk sensibly again no comments.

It will take 2 days before I am clear of the effects of the painkillers and am safe to be let out in polite company. Again, no comments are required.

On another medical note.
Water tablets. Of which Furosemide is one. If you are taking water tablets, have you noticed how much time you spend and notice of your toilet decor or local bushes for relief. Please nobody mention paint brushes in the hearing of Attila, who has been trying to make me decorate for a decade or two.

Stay safe and stay warm, hint burn a, please insert whatever you choose.

Manly hug for the need to have so much pain relief , but I'd say that Was a good Reason to be excused painting duties..

As for the bathroom decoration survey (intense mode)

Had a similar delight not to long ago .

Did find twitter a great time waster while I waited for certain bits of me to "relax, it's all going to be okay"...lol.

I am assuming your requirements are more the regularity not scarcity ..?

If your posting and jesting I'd say you're doing better than those who sadly cant Any longer.

Live long & prosper as @Lamont D might have said .

5.7 this morning

Enjoyed teaching classes today. I had advanced warning that the pub across the road from my venue was suffering a power cut, so I hot footed it to the garage across the road and used the Costa coffee machine for my essential Tuesday afternoon cup of coffee. It actually wasn't that bad.

Another page in my sketchbook....

This was in charcoal and conte crayons... and I rubbed and scraped the colour out....

Day didn't go as planned...an email meant I had to go out and sort something...frustrating how stuff keeps me from doing my room...on the plus side I passed a charity shop which had some stuff outside with the notice free on it

It was a dining chair, but I have never seen such a big enormous high backed chair in my life. I would call it a cathedral chair.. I needed help getting it to the car and getting it in and out of the car and it's now sat in the kitchen because I don't know how to drag it into the front room. It is that heavy.... it was nearly too long for the backseat.

Has been very cold outside today and Midnight and I wish you good night.

Here is the link to the painting...

Good morning everyone on a thunder and lightening, wet and windy start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north.

6.2 this a.m. Probably due to a slice of cake from our now ancient six year old know it all granddaughter’s birthday tea yesterday.

Bit busy over the past week. Tasks and challenges were issued, words like “dado” and “rail” came up as well as phrases like “new Velux window blinds”. Both now fully installed and no fingers or thumbs were harmed during the process although some words not even included by Ivor Brown in his excellent book, Chosen Words may or may not have been expressed.

My brother and SIL are visiting this weekend for a couple of days. Traveling up from their home in Almeria. We haven’t seen them since before the pandemic so it will be a good catch up - hope they bring coats and thermals.

Art bit - not done much recently - my hands and especially my fingers tend to seize up as the temperature drops and then need prizing open. Always a bit of a nuisance.

Anyhow - some ink on wet paper.

Hope your day is kind to you and that your bills stay low. As Mr Micawber said, 'Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen pounds nineteen shillings and six pence, result happiness. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure twenty pounds ought and six, result misery.'

Best make koffy.

6.1 sat on the edge of my bed at 04.15 today and still 6.1 by the time I got through to the kitchen. Currently at 5.1 but I am about to have breakfast. I was in the process of making breakfast when Neil needed me to do some admin about our internet connection - our contract with BT is up today and I am changing over to a different supplier - the last 2 years with BT have been one of those proverbial pains. So I had to leave the breakfast prep and get online. While here, I decided to check e-mails and reply to this forum.

So, good morning all. Winter is here - snow is laying on the ground and it is cold. The heating, set at 18C, is gong full blast to get us up to that temperature.

Possibility of a visit from an acquaintance (who happens to be a publisher - must be nice to him) so have to do some baking to go with a cup of tea. He's not coming to discuss publishing anything, but you never know, I might just get the opportunity to mention ...
