I rang the hospital yesterday about my poor care at the eye unit last week and they said write to the consultant
We need to disavow ourselves of the popular myth that we get anything for free on the NHS...we get treatment free at source however we pay regularly for our treatment...income tax...our pensions...when we put fuel in our vehicles....on any luxury goods and many food items...alcohol & so much more...not entitled to a flu jab is not acceptable geefull...you are and if I were you I would get your local pharmacy to provide you with one...its not ethical for any surgery to advise we cannot have 'free' treatment because they do not understand or interpret the guidelines/criteria appropriately...you haven't stopped being diabetic you have worked hard to manage it and achieved remission.... they are private partnerships with the NHS as their biggest contractor and are paid for administering treatments to their patients...and that's what they should do I wonder which member of staff gave you that information...was it a GP or DSN possibly a receptionist?.my health practice says I'm not entitled to a free one yet since I'm considered 'in remission',
Morning All. 7.5 this morning which is probably because I ate double helping Spanish chicken casserole last night. I was going to freeze the extra but we were both enjoying it so dished it up instead. So cautionary day ahead. I rang the hospital yesterday about my poor care at the eye unit last week and they said write to the consultant. This morning eye still very red and sore so OH thinks I should go back. That does not fit in with my plans for the next few days though. I am off to Kent to dog sit on Friday and staying over till Sunday. @gennepher hope you enjoy your meet up with friends and just as you wouldnt choose their meal the reverse is true. @Muddy Cyclist gorgeous autumn scenes in your pics. I think we have had so much rain here our trees are behind those which means raking leaves up to Christmas. @geefull I am off to the pharmacy for my flu jab this morning and I shall be ticking the diabetes box as I did last year despite “remission” as I believe I still have Diabetes but instead of meds I am diet controlled. After all the eye unit treating my BRVO tells me it is caused by my Diabetes. I am sorry you were turned down and dont understand how it can be right.
Phew...hope you all have a good Wednesday. Stay well, stay safe.
Gave a like as I am assuming single figures is okay for you and presumably no hypo overnight.8.6
Have a good day
Just very quickly dropping in - will catch up with posts later.
Husbands visit to hospital went well. They put sensors on his arm and hand then prodded him with an thing that gave him a sort of electric shock. The outcome was that the nerves are not transmitting to his hand. They have ordered an MRI of his elbow to find out whether they can do anything about it with an op. He does have severe arthritis in the elbow but the good news was that it won't get any worse.
We then had a lovely day walking around Gooderston Water Gardens and a lovely lunch out. I had some lovely Trout and Salad followed by a coffee and cream. Was saintly with my food all day and was in the 4s and 5s all day - but was 6.1 this morning.
We are meeting friends for lunch that we haven't actually met up with for 40+ years. Husband knew them back in his motorcycling days. They got married the same time as us. We are lunching at the Olde Windmill at Gt Cressingham. Not been there before.
On a lighter note I have just received confirmation that our two kittens are available for collection on the 12th of November...as promised here are the photos (only got them via email this morning) they are just adorable...ATM called Dot & Dally they have been renamed after yet another battle with the girls who thought my choice was rubbish...so I'm pleased to introduce Charlie & Lola

So here they are
Saskia that's exactly what my friend said when I sent her the picture he looks like trouble...they are beautiful and cant wait to get them here...the girls insisted I buy a pyramid cave bed...some toys and if I'd let them lord knows what else they'd put in the shopping basket...can't wait for them to arrive now. They are darling (and I bet the black and white one is a handful in every sense of the word
Poor Dennis he has been through it but he is lucky to have such a considerate loving human/s...yes it seems very empty here without Churchill can't wait for them to arrive now.as the groin wound is still swollen.

Thank you PM I hadn't seen them when I reserved them...any kitten would be gorgeous but they do look beautiful...TBH now I'm not sure which is Charlie & which is Lola I did have it written down on a card that has been misplaced...cant wait to get them home.@HarryBeau wow what little bundles of furry perfection Lola and Charlie are! Lola is a real little girl and Charlie a right little character. I am so glad you got two siblings and I think you are in for many years of laughter and love.
Good well done PMthanks for your kind remarks. I have written a very detailed letter to the eye consultant and posted it today.
