What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

so no drinking our debauchery.
Great to hear of the more suitable bg level - and was drinking and debauchery ever your style? If so is it ever really all it is cracked up to be or just FOMO and bluster?

but well done you too, for making sure they got recognised to boot.:)
"Stepping stones" of garstang..too far for me, but what a great sounding place, many others could take note.

Winner, winner, cream tea dinner..so to speak.;)
You are so funny. Lol.

I'm number 4 TripAdvisor reviewer in Blackpool and very proud of that. I always review. It helps others find great establishments, hotels, restaurants, towns etc.

I couldn't believe the trouble she went to. Still gobsmacked!

If we all meet up in the future this has to be the place!!! ;-)

@dunelm I had to read out your post about the Pringles invention to my family- leftover slurry from a potato peeling factory sounds gross but a brilliant invention. I think it’s put them all off Pringles ( thank goodness).
They are very moorish I have heard, but that’s probably down to what they spray onto them

Good morning from the dark and dangerous north where torrents, downpours and weather warnings of different colours were issued by the gods of small things and pine cone watchers - but no, not a drop.

The wonder wheel of only waking twice during the night relented and gave a firm, yet smug, 4.9 this am. Must have been the minted peas.

Not sure about today - nothing is certain. Fruit nubs need removing from the fig tree and it could do with a trim once all the leaves have fallen. It does feel like Friday though so Bon Weekend everyone.

Baffling discrepancy apart the question arises what do I do with that?.
Must be the time of year, I have similar mystery and I washed my hands extremely well, 2 hours after breakfast of 0 carbs and a 5.3 before breakfast 7.5 from one finger so in disbelief I tried another 6.3 so tried again, I'm a real pessimist, and same result. I give up!

Low carbs rest of the day for me yet I know not why I should bother.

@OldButBold and @HarryBeau congrats on fantastic hours of sleep.

Keep warm everyone.

In the dark and dangerous norf, where electrickery has yet to be discovered but I shall use the last of my darn sarf internetty to post my fasting blood sugars 6.8. Below 10 so is good for me ( Hospital diabetic consultant ) .

I must go I have a life to lead irrespective of my blood sugars.

in my Yoof drinking yes, debauchery no, not with a face like a clenched fist!! In my stage of life and a hard working life if I tried it now I like to be in bed by 9pm, all tucked in!!

5.6 today, reflection of yesterdays afternoon tea. As delightfully low carb as it was my bs are a little higher. Bovered? Nope. It doesnt happen every week.

Got this message yesterday from a patient who came to my support session earlier in the month. She has struggled over the past few years. Gone onto stronger meds and gutted (glicozide and as such I did say she has to work closely with DN hence her appointment with DN this week) . She added lots of emoticons but they dont translate well so omitted. I'm a very happy bunny.

Hi Deb, went for my diabetic review today.... Diabetic nurse (Lovely **) extremely happy! Yaaaaay!! Weghtloss, blood sugars & BMI all great results. Thank you to your help Looking forward to seeing you next time you are booking in apts. Big hug xx

Just remembered, Happy St Crispins Day

This day is called the feast of Crispian:
He that outlives this day, and comes safe home,
Will stand a tip-toe when the day is named,
And rouse him at the name of Crispian.
He that shall live this day, and see old age,
Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours,
And say 'To-morrow is Saint Crispian:'
Then will he strip his sleeve and show his scars.
And say 'These wounds I had on Crispin's day.'
Old men forget: yet all shall be forgot,
But he'll remember with advantages
What feats he did that day: then shall our names.
Familiar in his mouth as household words
Harry the king, Bedford and Exeter,
Warwick and Talbot, Salisbury and Gloucester,
Be in their flowing cups freshly remember'd.
This story shall the good man teach his son;
And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remember'd;
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition:
And gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day.

@DJC3 hope you get your lights fixed must admit anything to do with electrics playing up scares me. On the other hand I used my new tumble drier for the first time yesterday and that (and the fishfingers) made my day :D

I can well understand the joy of a new tumble dryer. How lovely to be content with simple everyday pleasures like that, and obviously the fish fingers. Has your craving been satisfied?
The electrician is going to replace all the kitchen lights ( 6 down lights) with LED ones which will be cheaper to run too so I’m happy about that. He’s also going to fix the bathroom heater which only blows out cold air. It’s like an icebox in there.

Proper job

Sounds like a good and safe result and I think the bulbs will last longer too. Refishfingers I had 3 giant ones (I figured less surface crumb than normal size) and had them with tenderstem broccoli and they didnt affect my fbg too badly though wasnt brave enough to test 2 hours later. Yes the itch has been scratched, for now! You have to take the pleasure where you can find it with this woe.

7.6 this morning and I don't care, I feel better than I have felt in days. I slept about 7-8 hours and woke up with some energy for a change. I don't know if it's the extra 1-2 hours' sleep, or the acetaminophen, or the fact that I ate more yesterday than I have eaten on other days this week, or what -- I'm just gonna take it as a gift and put this energy to some good use.

Happy Weekend Eve, everyone. :)
