What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Thanks @ianpspurs
Sat here now, just waiting for them to start op.
Meanwhile, views are pretty nice .
Especially for our overseas members.

...St Pauls & River Thames.

Beautiful! I have never seen St Pauls' from that angle before. Is that Southwark Cathedral in the foreground?

@zauberflote and @SaskiaKC my kitty Daisy has a problem with compacted faecies which distend her colon but the vet recommends 5g Lactolose in her tuna daily. I soon found I had to put it in both dishes because they often eat from each others bowls. I have to say Bobs doesnt seem to mind so all good.

Thanks @ianpspurs

Hope the op goes well. I, unfortunately, had local (several) both times. At least a generation ago so things will have progressed one hopes.

Talking about the autism spectrum... both my sons were dx with ADHD at an early age; I was the one who dx'd the younger one lol (also dx autistic a few years later but at that time it was called Pervasive Developmental Delay). I have found over the decades of their lives that they tend to choose friends like them. Older DS 9th bday party was a tad trying because of this-- we had All Seven ADHD boys in his class in our family room overnight. But these kids are the most fun! The rest of the class seemed downright boring to me, although if we had adopted a third, I would have begged for a girl baby who would STAY PUT ON THE BLANKET at adoption support group picnics. Allll these other toddlers, sitting on the family blanket, eating a meal with Mommy and Daddy. Where did mine get to? Oh man, how can he crawl/toddle/walk so far in5 seconds???
And not to mention that the parents of kids on the spectrum Get It. They know your life. They are like you. You can and do say anything to them, and vice versa.
I don't use aspie and autie hardly at all.My guys are a little too large to give pet names @HarrisonK I've seen at least one young SF author refer to themselves (poor grammar intentional) as something along the lines of ND (neurodiverse) and I thought it was brilliantly used in the context. So they are not a professional medico, but a trend setter for their generation perhaps.
@Goacher55 wahoo wah! For number and meal that preceded it. I do wish I could eat real Indian, but I'd have to cut it 20:1 with yogurt, which kinda defeats the purpose.
@jjraak I'm glad you could use my soapbox! I was wondering where it went! Ooooo sorry about the wisdom teeths! #2ZF had all four removed at 19. He got the traditional dry socket but was otherwise fine. Except,,,,being autistic, he thought that the pain he felt as the novocaine wore off was how it would be forever. Poor kid. He still loves his hand-shooting dentist though. You can't not love the guy. Oh my what a view! Thank you for posting that!!
@SaskiaKC my kitty has chronic of this shared problem. 8-9 years ago, when we lived in another town, he discovered (being the neighborhood's alpha cat) that if he went around the corner and down a block he could have all the free kibbles he wanted! Folks had a cat who refused to come inside when the git a new dog, so they took to feeding via one of those automatic feeders with the half gallon reservoir. Well. Hmmm. Cat porked up considerably. In a couple of years we moved "back home" and are currently renting in a wooded hilly subdivision. We hoped that nobody nearby would feed outdoors. WELL. The lady across the street is a rescue person. She keeps her FIV+ and Fe-Lu cats indoors, and the rest of them outdoors, along with the raccoon family she encourages in her garage. She feeds them twice a day on styrofoam plates with the Wild Variegated Kibble. This is a severe problem. My cat is the sufferer and I cannot keep him in for longer than a rainy/snowy day. Arrgghh!

So, a rain shower stopped me working in the garden. Took the opportunity to watch Volek and Phinney vids and follow up with some of the unexplained points. According to them I am up to 1 stone below upper reference weight for a 6 foot male - 11 S 4 today Vs up to 12 S 1 - and massively under consume protein on their guidelines. Could this be why I always feel hungry and under powered? They don't seem to be as loved as Jasey baby - anyone have thoughts on their views re Fung as intuitively their target weight and protein level appeals to me as likely to be more functional. (Part of my own earlier request for nutrition 101 course) TIA

@zauberflote and @PenguinMum I give the KittenCat about 1/8 - 1/4 tsp of laxatone every 2-3 days. I give her the tuna-flavored Tomlyn laxatone. She still horks up hairballs but she hasn't been constipated again since fall. She never was before either, but she is 14 now.

She has been an indoor-only kitty since she was 6 months old.

Thanks, @jjraak .

How is Steph doing? I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled in a dentist's office 40+ years ago. Pills and happy gas. I just sat there remembering to keep my mouth open and my elbows out of the dentist's stomach! Wasn't capable of much more thought than that. :)

06:30 5.55=5.6? Got up early to take constipated kitty to vet (my apologies to those who are eating now) to find there was currently no need. Rescheduled for tomorrow just in case. Not supposed to rain much if at all. Radar shows scattered showers but my right S-I joint (which shares its news with my entire right lower body....) tells of tonight's approaching cold front and low pressure fronts after that. Ow. I mean, it's great to be able to predict the weather and all but. Just ow.
@harrison one of my kids is the IT guy for the Dept of Public Works of a local jurisdiction, and one of the reasons he enthuses over this job is that they have remote control toys! Who knew there were little moon buggies crawling around in the water mains dx-ing problems! Then he comes home and drives wife nuts staying up til all hours gaming with his honkin' big gaming computer. We are all so fortunate that he married his wonderful high school sweetheart who has been his personal assistant, key-finder, secretary, social director, and Doesn't Mind his frequent over the top rants and goings on. We all thank his grade 3 teacher for lending us her computer over that summer. She pretty much predicted the career that would allow his rampant ADD with H brain and mouth to be an advantage.
@Diane_56 and I'd bring the champagne to that party! Well done! Oh I see from comments you might be T1. So, listen to fellow T1-ers, not me!
Congrats @Freema !!!!
@dunelm I only understood your post up to the word "weekend" so I'll take your word that you're Doing Something Manly Bonding-ish.
@Bildad congrats on no drills! Sorry about money though, and glad nobody got any accidental projectiles. Have fun prepping for summer camp week!
@gennepher the perfect(ly horrible) storm continues. But oh what a perfect place to visit! I hope it's quiet for you. View attachment 32831
Brilliant!
Thank you! Posting my photos in a few minutes...

I use Amazon lockers for returns unless the ones near me are full, but not for pickups. My deliveries generally come via commercial-- either UPS or mail, and they are going to be driving down my street daily anyway, so why add to the congestion on the main drag at the top of my 'hood?

Makes good sense ZB, but we get post office OR Hermes type delivery.(e-vayer here as well)
Most stuff won't fit letter box, and I've stuff left in rain, on steps, etc..or it goes back to office miles away.
Redelivery no good as same problem next time unless I take day off work.

Pick up elsewhere as in drop off points preferable then waiting extra days/weeks fir something to arrive

@PenguinMum .
All done, she's a little woozy, just in an Uber heading home.

The break and relaxation I needed.

Unfortunately there was no water in the well. The holy water has been polluted and they are trying to sort it. So I couldn't immerse myself in the waters. Yes I do immerse myself. I get permission from the custodian. It is cold but incredibly liberating. So, initially I was disappointed.

I took photos for you all.
I lit candles for you all. I lit a row of night lights and a row of candles. And said some words and blessings.

The cairn of stones is usually full of water to the top, but the water is polluted so they are draining it away.

The last photo is the steps where I usually go down to submerge myself, but alas no water today.

I am not sure how to download photos from iPad to here, but bear with me...

Oh dear, these files are too large...how do I reduce them on the iPad? I sent them to me by email, and the email reduces them!

I hope this works. So St Winefride's Holy Well.

When I left the bungalow this morning it was raining hard, that was the promised weather, then on the way the sun came out! It stayed out while I was there. I had an amazing conversation with one of the custodians. A very profound spiritual conversation. Then as I left the well, the sky darkened, clouds came over, and then the most amazing white lightning in the sky which filled the valley. Then thunderclaps all around. Then the clouds dumped a huge sheet of water on me. I laughed. I thought it was funny given the conversation I'd just had with the custodian!

@Bubbsie Some tranquility for you.
@PenguinMum There was peace and fresh air
@zauberflote Thank you for your advice and help
@Goacher55 Thank you for my hugs
@jjraak I sent Amazon a strongly worded email just now...

I lit all those candles and nightlights for anyone who feels in need of some comfort.

Ooh PM I'm afraid I was seduced by the weather on the sunny Bank Holiday...what a naive 'sucker' I am...forgot to say the Elizabeth Arden Protectant Cream (original) is spot on...it worked a treat so I have invested in another tube..
Glad to be of service ..I always have it and Tea Tree oil handy.
