What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Another seasonal start to the day here and I seem to be experiencing seasonal waking hours. If true, that would be perfect for me and the chickens. On the thread's main theme 5.2 today so inside the target zone despite accidental oopage yesterday - memo to self read ingredients carefully (very small print especially) and don't trust supermarket's food order booklets. Today is all about the extremes. Taking 89 yo MIL to see our 1 week old granddaughter. Very happy for her if a little sad. My own parents only ever saw 1 of their great grandchildren - tomorrow is 6 years since their funeral. Extremes indeed.
@PenguinMum stop with the chocolate blame already and just enjoy the pleasure. 5.6 gms carb from chocolate is not an issue. On another day all your dory's will be hunky.
I am so sorry you lost them both on the same day. That must have been very traumatic as I think you were an only child. Thank God you had Julie and your son at the time.

OMG before breakfast 5.9. 2hrs after breakfast (8g carbs) 5.7. This has never happened to me before. Could I suddenly be.less insulin resistant or did my beta cells wake up suddenly and start working properly. I am aware of course that this is probably a one off and I will never know the reason why.

Thanks for the thought. As far as mum was concerned expected. All 3 boys were hit hard by their granddad's death. I absolutely knew what happened was how they would have wanted it and felt very peaceful. All around me people were looking for very different reactions from me. Not sure youngest son knows what wider family will think is behind his baby being named Rosa Marie when mum's name was Rosemary - I think it was not intentional but I like the link. Now back to eating chocolate when you want young lady.

@Cumberland I'm sorry you didn't get a better report today. I hope your meeting with the nurse tomorrow goes really well.

Saskia Thank you

Morning all. fbs of 8.2 today.:banghead: Nothing to eat for 14 hours since my evening meal of fresh salmon, broccoli, cauliflower and , yes,I did eat 3 new potatoes but the were very small and it was 14 hours ago. Drinks yesterday were either water or black tea. Cold sliced beef and salad for lunch. Did a fair amount of walking in the fresh air yesterday, listening to birdsong so not stressed. Don't feel I can do much more to get my levels down. Just about to have sliced turkey and salad for lunch instead of the Gregg's hot sausage rolls that my hubby had just suggested!:hungry: Enjoy your Wednesday folks. :)

good afternoon all :)

was 5.0 this morning

We were out earlyish this morning to get mum's little dog to the groomers so she is now looking swish and much tidier and it will be helpful if we get hot weather, plus she will dry out more quickly after she goes puddle diving ;)

We had a bit of a walk with the dog before she went in to be groomed and then we walked between the showers whilst she was being pampered too, just as well because it's chucking it down now. Fortunately we got quite a bit done outdoors earlier in the week :)

Going to do a bit of wardrobe tidying this afternoon I think, it's a bit of an ongoing job at the moment, I've found it quite difficult to part with some of the larger clothes I have as I can't always convince myself that I won't put a lot of weight back on. Mr gee is being supportive and suggests that if I do put weight on I'll just have to buy some more stuff :hilarious:

Hope your day is treating you well :)

Keep forgetting to post morning readings. I think it was 5.7 this morning. Fine with that.
Some big stories on here today:
@Cumberland I’m so sorry your results weren’t what you’d hoped ( or what we all would have hoped for you) I do hope tomorrow’s appointment goes well and you come away reassured.
@poemagraphic that is such brilliant news! Not often. DN will give that sort of reaction. Well done you!
@Bildad yuk! What a way to start the morning, hope the poor pooch is feeling a bit better for it though.
@Karen I hope things settle for you soon. Constant hypos must be so wearing.
