What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Wow. Just wow. I've been trying to figure out how to do a day trip to either of the two small towns I've been thinking of moving to. I'd like to go and check them out. Haven't figured out how to get there yet.

Just out of curiosity, I planned a pretend trip from London to Lower Slaughter, because that is a village I've visited, I knew the area a bit at one time, and it's about the same distance.

Wow. Easy peasy. Train from Paddington to Moreton In Marsh, about a hour and a half. Then walk about a mile to Lower Slaughter.

Wow.
That sounds like a brilliant pretend trip!

I do plan trips in advance (and for disabled parking etc). So I go on to google maps (or Google Earth, or streetview, or other app I have on my phone), and go into the ‘walking’ along the actual photographed road, and for me I can check out the actual details on the real road parking signs. I do this especially when I am driving to a place I don’t know, and in this way the roads now seem ‘familiar’ (and I have confidence) because I have already ‘travelled’ along them. As long as it is a road that the google surveillance van has travelled on, you can wander pretty much anywhere in the world. And also see the photos people have taken of that location.

And I have done when I have a few hours to spare. I find it addictive, especially with waterfalls and river gorges photos, to see places I could never access in real life. There is a 360 degree view for some of the spectacular places.

I love the names of places in that neck of the woods you are interested in!

Morning...feeling a little ropey this morning...wondering why...then I remembered we had quite a bit of fizz the night before...so woke to a not surprising 6.9 (eek) no hugs please it's self inflicted (more coffee please)...off to start watering the plants...before deciding whether to invest my time with a walk down to the polling station

Morning All. 6.1 after a restless night with some pain on brow above and cheekbone below my dodgy eye and feeling nauseaus. Of course this could be nothing to do with my dodgy eye and just coincidence. Just wondered @BibaBee if any of this sounds familiar with Mr B? My first injection next Wed.
Any way slow start to day. Hoping to start meal plan/shopping for weekend. Youngest son visiting later.
Have a great day everyone. Stay well, stay safe.
Sending hugs penguinmum x

The weather here is set fair so good for rejoicing in the gift of a brand new day. Scrolling through a few posts one or two members hearts won't be set on fire with love for their experiences over the last while. @PenguinMum so sorry to hear your eye cause physical pain as well as worry about long term implications. @karen8967 I gave a hug as I am aware that is not a level you want to see. @gennepher so sorry to hear that such a censorious busybody felt the need to park her tanks on your lawn. Now the shiny happy people. @trick60 enjoy the cheese on toast experience. @HarrisonK magic gloves, good weather and feeling of deep satisfaction I imagine. Winning combo that one.
My fbg you say? 5.3 which is in the neutral zone. No sign of a sliding doors moment on the issue of how I manage the nutrition - pleasure - bg level equation but bg side is not an urgent problem today. Other eccentrics are available and 2 may well post soon.

Morning all.

walking a wonky line this week FBG wise..
5.8 / 5.4 / 5.1 / 6.1.....is what it is, i suppose..could be worse..:D

@PenguinMum
so sorry to hear your woes...hugs for a Better day today & pain free hopefully.x

Having a chilled moment here, counting my blessing really.
all is going well, missus in good mood, a weekend off , so she's making plans to go do something, anything, which is nice.
Not done much together since hols, though she is in full flight mode, checking out next years destinations...:wideyed:....:hilarious:

she just left for work, house quiet, youtube up and playing in background, a fresh brew ready, and breakfast put back until later.
(She was at theatre last night 'waitress' so billy no mates, cooked a meal for one..4 lamb chops, spinach, brocoli, 3 small new potatoes, as a treat and test...(5.4 pre..7.1 post.) add in a some colemans mustard...Luvvly jubbly.
was late-ish 8pm..so no hunger this morning.

just slightly reflective today.
we've all lost people, i was just spending a moment thinking of mine and remembering all the times they were here...
(is it just me, or do others sometimes hear their voices commenting on today's decisions with advice ?)

Anyways, It's all so personal, and we've all been there at some point, and as we know to well, while our world stops for a while,
everyone else's keeps on turning., as it should, i suppose.

Came across this in my web travels, hit a rather nice spot..Bitter sweet, but i rather liked the words.

thought i'd share.

Enjoy the day, all.

I’ve tried putting nice comfy cushions around indoors but she never goes near them. View attachment 33078

Ah, the Cat Owners Dilema..Buying ANYTHING for a cat is just another opportunity for a cat to proves it's superiority,.....

by totally rejecting it..Lol

For us, we bought endless cushions, resting points, toys and cat houses...all rejected for an empty carton Box, a corner of the bed or floor OR the most uncomfortable space on top of a suitcase/bag/jacket or almost anything BUT.. 'THAT' monstrosity YOU just offered it..:***:

Cats...Loveable, Cute, funny, cuddly..but one of the most ungrateful creatures on gods planet...:hilarious:

Long may that remain so.
