The wasps are like drunken old men and actually have fisticuffs fights.
Love the imagery in your post. Poor wasps, such a misunderstood creature, whenever I see a group of humans having a picnic, thrashing the air and running about wildly when under wasp attacks I always say "You should feel sorry for them they have been made homeless and are starving" :) I have taught my 3 young granddaughters to sit still and be calm and behold the wasps leave us alone, mostly!

Morning All. 5.9 after a bad nights sleep so thats ok.
@geefull great set of results so congrats. @jjraak so glad things at work have worked out how you wanted and your life will improve as a result. Thanks for the McGarrett. @trick60 enjoy the cheese on toast and I like the idea of Muffin the Mule running the show! @SaskiaKC hope it goes well with the doc. Sending hugs. @gennepher your knowledge of nature is amazing I too find ants fascinating they are so organised and work as a team. I have watched them work together to carry off a discarded piece of bread.
Have a good day everyone. Stay well, stay safe.

Up early and despite several faint attempts for extra time in bed (always a waste of precious time) finally got the message and came downstairs.

The wonder wheel of late night steak and a lazy mushroom and peppercorn gravy gave up a 5.6 this am.

Excellent photo’s @gennepher - I don’t mind wasps and find it rather amusing to watch adult humans whirling and thrashing about like demented marionettes when such a tiny creature approaches - far too much sugar in their vicinity - unfortunately, as Philip Larkin had it, they pass on their antics to their offsprings. Oh well, so much for the idea of natural selection.
@ianpspurs - oh now I have had to go and learn about Birinus - seems like the queen - possibility of two feast days - and perhaps even a commemoration on a third day for some - any excuse for a party.
@jjraak - redundancy - another blank page to begin writing on.

Have a great day if you can, the sun is out, time for Koffy.

Interesting readings yesterday. Was 4.5 at 5pm. I was teaching two big classes from 6pm and as I was adding new exercises I was going to use lots of energy. Should I eat something. Decided not to. 7.30pm tested 4.4.

Should I eat now in case I went lower as I have a 20 mile drive home at 9pm. Decided not to. 9pm was 4.6 so OK to drive home. Interesting that my body was able to keep at safe levels even though I was using masses of energy.

10.30pm still 4.6 - this morning 6.0. So liver has released some glucose to kick start the new day.

Good morning, 5.8 on a wet and dreary morning, no bike ride this morning which is a pity because I'm feeling very under exercised this past week.
@HarrisonK I know that feeling it summed up my last few days I always put it down to my Fibromyalgia but maybe it's my T2D hope you overcome it soon.
@jjraak Inspiring, staying so positive in tough times.
@ianpspurs another inspiring fighter, hope you don't have to resort to fistycuffs to satisfy your hunger like @gennepher wasps.

Have a good day one and all.

Morning all. 5.7 for me and I’m feeling v guilty as I found a Happy Anniversary card on the kitchen table which Mr C had left before he went to work. It’s been 37 years, sounds longer than it feels.
Anyway I’d completely forgotten about it, hence the guilt, double guilt in fact as I also forgot to make his packed lunch last night.
Out for a Dennis walk in a sec then off to collect No 1 daughter’s dog then settle in front of daytime TV to watch our own fabulous @Debandez socking it to ‘em on Phil &Holly’s sofa.

@jjraak the world is now your oyster and I’m glad the work thing has resolved itself to your satisfaction. An exciting time ahead for you.

I do agree. It was quite shocking to see him behave like that.
What a waste of money his Eton education was Krystyna he was inarticulate/unintelligible without any semblance of control … bluff & bluster all the way he would have been ideal in a 'Carry On' film... I'm surprised he didn't throw himself on the floor of the House & begin wailing as he flailed his arms & legs about...I had to smile at the photo of Theresa May beaming as she left the commons...karma?

Is it definitely this morning (no pun intended) I am watching but I'm not sure how much longer I can stand that ass Piers Morgan who thinks jokes about 'Gobby Women' is funny

5.6 and another day begins.

Following on from events that occurred yesterday and subsequent disturbed sleep I think I'm in a bout of maudlin cognitive dissonance. Happens sometimes, and is part of my co-morbidity. Cogito, ergo sum is insufficient at such times of forced reflection and despite knowing what happened I am challenged by new data. I am acutely aware that reality is an individual experience that only exists within the dark cavern of my 'mind', just as I know the senses are both fragile and fallible. Humanity avoids that ideology by believing that mass agreement will cause a realisation of some 'actual' truth, when it could just as easily cause mass hysteria.

Anyway, the rains have started which, in turn, demands more coffee before going into the world.

Hope the conflict resolves quickly for you.

Just read this headline on BBC news "Meat eating plants make a come back in England" really? I never understand the environmentalist, there is a shortage of Bees, is this really a great idea?

Great fbg and amazingly well reasoned account of what is happening in your world. Hug for the cognitive dissonance but winner for putting it out there and doing battle with your demons. Top, top man. Enjoy your coffee.
