good afternoon everyone :)

3 years three months in from diagnosis and I'm just back from my annual feet tickling session :hilarious:

My DN is pretty pleased with me ;)
results are - HbA1c is 30 (up a little but not enough for me to sweat about it ;)), equivalent of 4.9% or average bg of 5.2.
feet - pulse and sensation in both are fine
BP was 114/71 and resting pulse rate 67
my weight was exactly the same as last time it was measured which gives me a BMI of around 27. Nurse and doctor are both happy with this.

the other tests are now (apparently), only done once per year and since mine were done earlier this year they won't be checked again until February, but all were fine last time.

Thank you all again for the excellent advice and support I found here, without which goodness knows what my stats. and medical status would be like by now

Nurse not amused I wasn't offered a flu jab by the NHS last year and had to pay for one myself. She says it doesn't matter whether I'm classed 'in remission' I should still get all the checks etc. which are recommended.

@Fndwheelie loving the little train ;)

:( I have just made an appointment for tomorrow with my doctor who wants me to come in to see if the burning I've been experiencing could be another UTI. Last night it went away after a day without an SSRI followed by a treat of a brownie with icing. The burning hasn't come back, even though I finally took the SSRI at bedtime last night (I usually take it in the morning at breakfast).

So, I've been asking myself, could eating sugar affect bladder pain?

I'm starting to see why my mother had to study chemistry as part of her nutrition coursework for Home Economics.

and LOVED, LOVED LOVED this quote..
Debs you won't be there on your own...we'll all be right behind you every step...what a great opportunity to get the message across...well done brilliant job.

and @johnpol .."stunned into submission by the sight of a nearly fifty year old man in a t-shirt that was far, far, far, far too small for him and fitted where it touches!."....PLEASE no illustrations in the book..:bag::wideyed:;):D

and @DJC3 ..what a lovely story..and what a kind grandma, (and fairy..;) )

for me a 5.1 this morning..a good day at work
finally got the nod to be made redundant.
role and workload just getting too much.
time to turn to pastures new.

so quite happy, that while one work life is ending another may be just beginning.

and on a plus note, we looked outside our door tonight and found the local neighbours cat tapping on our door.

young couple downstairs take him in an feed him some night then let him out to use the front door cat flap.
but we also now appear to be on his approved '"Food establishments".in the street...Lol

quite like having a cat back around the house, even if only for a short while...

take care all ...big day tomorrow...willy booby and our @Debandez ...
dreams are made of this....sleep tight all.

Great fbg @PenguinMum, getting back on that horse sort of did the trick, the trouble is it’s more a bucking bronco than muffin the mule, and we are thrown off to easily.

Lol @jjraak i was going to put “can I hear waves” at the end of my last post but I noticed people had posted while I typed, I guessed it was the mcgarrett.
Glad you’re ok with the redundancy, as a “subby” I get the bullet on a regular basis, and it always hits hard, something always turns up though.

@geefull sensational 3 year results all done with a recognisable WOE and living - most normal of the success stories IMHO. At least I can latch on to your way of doing things but other success stories will resonate with other members. @trick60 great fbg, enjoythe cheese on toast and loving the solidarity with @jjraak. @SaskiaKC huge sympathy for UTI and hope Dr is able to resolve the problem easily.
Woke at 5.15, thanks to deliberate attempt to keep carbs sub 20 gms yesterday - easily predictable side effect. Fbg was a disappointing 5.6 but the extra kg since start of August really annoys me even though I am ok at bmi of 22.4. For a guy who should be grateful to God for the skill of surgeons and impact of modern technology on medicine that seems a little ungrateful I know. Hopefully, all down to the embargo on exercise but autumn, pretty constant hunger, weight uptick and sub optimal bg don't really cut it for me right now. My over protective survival instincts keep telling me now more than ever I must optimise my wellbeing. Against all that I am well aware I am richly blessed and I need to acknowledge that constantly. Have a great day folks - I have already learned of Birinus (sadly not an Anglican feast):)

Fbg for me is 7.1
Frog pond calls today...needs a good clean...it's the pond they breed in...
Also wasp photography.
Yes I photograph wasps in September.
There are aphids on the willow trees.
Hundreds wasps come to feed on the honeydew (excreta) of the aphids.
The ants take care of the aphids. They milk them. They also keep the wasps in check. The wasps are like drunken old men and actually have fisticuffs fights. I took hundreds photos and videos (to send to grandchildren who are fascinated) yesterday.

IMG_8929.jpg

The ant and the wasp...

Wasp: Get out of my way
Ant: No. You move
Wasp: I'll head butt you
Ant: I'll head butt you first, so MOVE

IMG_8930.jpg

Wasp moves carefully to his right...he does not argue with the ant. The ants have right of way.

I have hundreds of wasps flying round me. I am standing in them. I am inches away from them. I only have an iPad, not a long distance lens camera. The wasps are fine with me, I have to walk through them when I go to my potting shed. I just got used to them a long time ago, or else I would spend all my time shut indoors.

Hopefully this link will work, but it explains the symbiotic relationship between the ants and aphids...enjoy!

5.6 and another day begins.

Following on from events that occurred yesterday and subsequent disturbed sleep I think I'm in a bout of maudlin cognitive dissonance. Happens sometimes, and is part of my co-morbidity. Cogito, ergo sum is insufficient at such times of forced reflection and despite knowing what happened I am challenged by new data. I am acutely aware that reality is an individual experience that only exists within the dark cavern of my 'mind', just as I know the senses are both fragile and fallible. Humanity avoids that ideology by believing that mass agreement will cause a realisation of some 'actual' truth, when it could just as easily cause mass hysteria.

Anyway, the rains have started which, in turn, demands more coffee before going into the world.
