Today is Eric's birthday so we will be pottering around during the day then I'm using my bella Italia vouchers (compliments of Tesco clubcard) to take him to dinner. No expense spared!!!

Working on 2 presentations. One small to be delivered to my local diabetic group tomorrow and my biggy tower ballroom event Monday 25th November. Both presentations will confirm how important testing is. Both will have a display of food with equivalent sugar lumps to get the wow factor. Jacket potato still gets me, can be up to 19 teaspoons of sugar in a big one. Ok to eat as a non diabetic but a t2d would be better avoiding.

Good morning everyone from the dark and dangerous north and especially those part time residents on the fields of Elysium.

The wonder wheel of hurry up and wait yesterday had a go with a 5.1 this am

Brand new, just out of the box, human female arrived at 2115 last night. So, that’s five girls in total and one boy, age range 1 day to 15 years and spread amongst my three offspring in the proportion 3:2:1 - do I change my name to Ted Rogers?

Happy birthday to Eric @Debandez - don’t think that I will be splashing out twenty quid on 25 chunks of pork scrapings though no matter how festive they are presented. I’m trying to reduce my carbon footprint in order to fit into size 6 shoes by the year 2030.

Forgot to mention my DN appointment yesterday. Thought she would be going on about my cholesterol. Quite the contrary! Excellent triglycerides and hdl she said and ldl almost identical to dx reading. Not concerned at all. She said you won't want statins I know! I said yep that's right. We chatted about challenges of Blackpool and getting low carb across (which as you may know they are now embracing). I get it. I live here I know. One of my old bosses at pds medical who I bumped into at the eagle pub last month on ammas birthday said you've done great Deb but everything you dont eat my pts eat! But low carb option should be given regardless I thought to myself. All my surgery DNs do, and DN yesterday has made changes herself.

Sounds lovely

It was lovely. We have just bought a multicooker which is a slow cooker plus pressure cooker so have been experimenting with slow cooking meat. The brisket was beyond delicious. You can even brown the meat in it before you slow cook it which made it even tastier.

The only problem is that it has so many settings that you almost have to be a tech genius to work it - which we are definitely not. The pressure cooker function is great for bone broth.

Morning All. 6.2 at 07.30 disappointed after a very careful day of food yesterday. I did wake from a nightmare with my heart racing..can we add that to the list of things to raise bg, I wonder. @dunelm congrats to you all on the new baby girl. @ianpspurs everything about your holiday hotel sounds blissful. @OldButBold I wish I could say it was the end of the garden refuse here, its still very much ongoing and leaves, leaves, leaves.

5.3 this morning. Well wrapped up for doggie walk - only bit of me exposed to the cold was my nose - and it felt so cold. They don't do such a thing as a nose warmer do they.

I wish I could say it was the end of the garden refuse here, its still very much ongoing and leaves, leaves, leaves.

Oh I still have that to deal with, it's just the end of the bin collection. Now I'll compost the rest for next year, last lot of compost was superb and most of it has been dug into the beds. I keep about a third to activate the new stuff.

Libre sensor graph time.

I sampled a bread roll this week compliments of the low carb food company (after my hba1c test!) and I'm happy to say it only put my sugars up to the same as the full fat Greek yoghurt (5.9g carbs) I had for breakfast. Result. It was quite a good sized roll too. Earen with cheese and onion. Onion can be carbier than you think. It was delicious. Lots of salt. Just how I like it.

Late Morening checking or is it chequeing in, in the big scheme of things who cares.
Over slept again!!! Then an almighty mad panic before my 10:00am appointment at the doctor's to sort out some drug dosage problems and me and me's sanity levels.

A dangerously low for me 5.1 this morning.

Well folks at doctor's were happy with my sanity level and said they prefer me the way I am........ that's worrying , I wonder what they know.
Anyway enough of my prattling on, I have a list of jobs from Mrs J that I must hide before she flies home and parks up her dragon wings.
