What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Morning...lots of energy here from Charlie & Lola as they stalk one of the many hair grips they've stolen while I tuck into my first Lemsip Max of the day...not sure if I'm feeling better but I'm up & pottering about so that's a bonus...still coughing and blowing my nose on the quarter hour half hour & the hour...my voice sounds like Orson Welles in the sherry advert even the kittens are impressed with it at least they seem to be paying attention for once... a slight improvement waking with a 6.9 and fortunately I didn't have to go out yesterday...may try a little potter down to get some logs once it stops raining.

What BMW drivers don't need to indicate...my previous car was a classic BMW 330CI midnight blue with a leather cream interior...a couple of years ago a friend invited for lunch was parking & drove straight into the back of it...she got herself in such a panic she reversed shot forward again and rammed into the boot with such force my car shunted into the car in front...the insurance company wrote my car off...I was devastated...I wouldn't have found a suitable replacement (spent lots of money on it) in such good condition so now drive another make.
That must have been a tricky conversation with your friend. Are you feeling better (not about your car but the lurgy)?

Good morning/evening folks, an unforgiving 6.1 on the dice today, back on cabin duty today, roof to finish, doors and windows to level and fix, floor to fit, all in I think it's just easier to pay someone else to do it.

Two pancakes for me Barb, orange juice and golden syrup and rolled up....on second thoughts I'd better just make an omelette.
Have a lovely day all, looks like it's going to be a wet one.
The trouble is Trick you just know how to do too many things. Our youngest is moving into his first home next weekend, a tiny very old cottage which will doubtless need things fixing but Mr PM and my skills only stretch to rolling some pain or some gentle filling. I wont tell him about you. ;)

That was really a horrible thing to happen - especially as it was such a special car.

Morning all. 5.8 today horrible weather outside, the wind makes an otherworldly keening noise when it blows round the big granite rock which is a local landmark here. It’s quite spooky. This is a photo of it taken from the bedroom window on a clearer day. The orange speck is Mr C in High viz. View attachment 38851

Wonderful picture again @gennepher and a wonderful fbg @PenguinMum enjoy your day curled up in the warm with the furries. I have to try to get Dennis out in a bit - we are supposed to be going on a charity beach dog walk but he won’t want to go unless the rain stops. Agree about all the wood and coal burners.
@BarbMcD looks like you have a really fun day ahead. I’m not mentioning your punk and green pancakes to my granddaughters or they’ll want them too.
Thanks but I am not sure about the fbg. Had a scratch dinner with two pieces of cod loin baked with a jar of Sacla olive & tomato paste, some diced red pepper and extra olives. Bit ready, steady, cook but very tasty. That pic looks like an old tin mine? Take care out in that weather, said it before Dennis is a very clever boy.

Just seen this post, glad you stayed in yesterday and have today to get better. Hope those logs arent “wet”. o_O

Horrible thing to happen to a classic.

When I was at the AA we would joke with broken down Beamers that the fault was the flasher unit or rather, the lack of one. I had a theory that BMW owners once owned a Ford Capri of some sort ;)

Have they fitted indicators to them yet :)
classic..:hilarious:
your on form today..

for those who go for tramps in woods..(ooh err)
i wondered if this might be of interest..deadline loooming it seems
https://www.itv.com/news/2020-02-11...otpaths-as-deadline-looms-to-get-them-on-map/

While asleep my bg, just for giggles... thought ti would be funny to drag me up to Six rivers Falls,
so a 6.3 this AM..poor nights sleep..mmhh or maybe the meal for two madame bought me yesterday,
she was out to friends so a meal for two became a meal for one greedy mangeur gourmand

It did come WITH the bottle of wine that i suppose COULD have lasted a few days,

but if i'm honest, i'm a bit of a worry wart these days over food n drink
and wasn't sure of the use by date, so thought ..
"JJ why EVEN take the chance it's Gone Off.....:woot:"

So did the decent thing and put it out of it's misery.

rather delicious..if a little pancake free..:arghh:

winds picking up now and again here in the Capital.

Scooter works done (for now), speedo working now so i can see how slow i'm really going..:hilarious:
(quite nippy to be honest, BUT i LOVE looking at the fuel gauge, and seeing it's down at the 1/4 full marker
and thinking.

.OMG what and HOW have i wasted ALL of that that £7.00 it cost to fill her* up ..:woot:....:D

(*VAR; Official name change over ruled.

Google+.. (missus ;)) ...has deemed it an 'illegal' name change.
and Officially declared true name is Pablo....Pablo Piaggio, and case closed :wideyed:

I rather quite like it, so have gracefully accepted the decision handed down by the Supreme Court

Have a good un all.

Take care of the people you love
But take even better care of the
people that Love you.

I though hubby would be bigger..:wideyed:
oh well ..as long as your happy together..:D

Morning All. Strange things going on in meter land today. At 06.30 on way back from bathroom (foot to floor and all that) 4.8 (what, cant be true). Didnt get back to sleep so at 07.30 tried again and got a 5.6. Its in the zone so alls well.
Very windy night again here, whipping around the four corners of the house. Today is a gentle day. Mr PM off to the Emirates so I will get snug with some useless tv and a pair of furries. Next weekend by contrast shaping up up to be hectic with helping No 2 son move into his first home and No 1 son also back with us.
What is all this confusion about wet wood and coal ban about? Anyone with half a brain knows you cant burn wood that hasnt been seasoned for two years. Theres no gas in our village so virtually all the cottages are heated by open fires or stoves. Will the current “smokeless coal” be allowed or what is this coal “replacement product” they are on about? Answers on a postcard please.
Have a great Sunday everyone. Stay well, stay safe.
Evidently burning wood or coal is even worse for the environment than flying abroad on holiday or taking a bus ride to Cleathorpes. Very soon we will be told that keeping one dog is worse than keeping a landrover and god forbid that you have more than one child - very polluting and increases the amount of sweet shops.

6.0 this morning. Have to confess that I didn't cut down the cream yesterday as I said I would and my meter definitely didn't let me get away with it.

Archie is on his last day of antibiotics and is much more himself. Will add a little Manuka honey to his food for a few days just to make sure he continues to improve.

Doggie walks postponed until later as it is very windy and a bit wet at the moment.

Read this and checked the sofas (black leather so fairly obvious) with a white glove. No woodburner here and just no particulates/dust/ash as there were in old house. Quite interesting. What with the 2 dogs, RR and a LR back there we must have been a nightmare. Likely to replace the 2 dogs, keep/upgrade the cars but free delivery on Sashimi here and maybe a gas fire so that should reduce our emissions! Not sure it helps greatly with hundreds of huge aircraft within a 5 mile radius.

@ gennepher - blown away by that picture. I get evocative memories of wonderful times when I look at it. Thank you so much.

The Forum International House of Pancakes is a future plan, just show a post & pushover Chef Barb will do a bogof for you *smirking*

I’m actually excited now

I need to get out more

lmao & Muffin is just looking at me with that cat superiority of hers, doesn’t agree with the interwebby

Hope those logs arent “wet”. o_O
If I can drag myself down to our local Tesco's (10-15 minute drive) they have kiln dried logs & smokeless coal...the wet logs are more difficult to burn here...only have a little cottage fire place...making more chicken soup today temptation is to make dumplings might try some with almond flour.

Good Morning and a 5.8 today. Windy and wet here I was hoping for a Muddy Bike ride, some sun promised, fingers crossed.

I feel we will be demanised into not burning wood, I burn only Kiln dried but already my neighbours are keen to point out 'you won't be able to have your wood stove lit very soon' A bit like what will happen with diesel and petrol cars. A changing world.
Mr C is the same and also has many hats - he bought a Tilley hat last year, and although it was ridiculously expensive he says it’s the best thing he’s ever bought! It’s really come into its own with the recent weather. And it comes with a lifetime guarantee!
Agree re Tilley Hat but so useful, UV protection, warm and cool, looks better the older it gets and it can be washed. Apparently even guaranteed to be replaced if lost or wears out no matter how old. Love the view from your window.
Morning folks,

Fbg 3.2 Temp 40 C

Today I am volunteered for a Pancake Day practice run, I fear I was duped by a little gang of mini McD’s - seven of them all asking Nana for pink & green pancakes today.

Ladies & gents I am Barb and I am a pushover lol

No pancakes for me because (shhh this is a secret) I’ve made so **** many, for so many children, I don’t even like my own pancakes. A bought one sneakily toasted once a month fulfils my needs. Today I expect to make for 7 littles, 9 grown ups (!!!) then Muffin & I will have a nap.

Great day coming, super happy inside despite my health issues.
Really don’t want to make that many pancakes. But I will .

I like to be useful *shines badge*

Happy day to everyone, everywhere.

B
Sounds good fun, I used to love flipping them, the higher the better. Enjoy!
Fbg 6.3 at 4am

It seems the way I am eating at the moment is keeping me in the 6's for fbg
It is always nuts for breakfast which is around 4 to 6am. I love nibbling when I am doing my early morning painting. And I might even get a second helping of those nuts ...
Then can be eggs (or something else as sliced meat if I have some in, or both boiled eggs and meat) around 11am to 12 noon
Then fish (maybe fish fingers) around 4 to 6 pm and maybe some garden peas.
During the day I might have some cheese or a few black grapes if I have some in.
Also during the day might be a very tiny packet of pork scratchings (I get a bag of these tiny packets).
Also I probably eat one all day breakfast out (or two) during the week. Or instead of one breakfast I might have cod in batter from the fish and chip shop. It just depends on my week.

So that is an update where my eating is at the moment.

Here is my daily painting of my daily painting challenge to myself.

View attachment 38850

I squished the left over acrylic paints on my palette with added water.
Left it to dry.
Then it suggested a waterfall.
So, I used the children's tempera paint sticks I have shown you in previous days paintings. The waterfall and clouds were done with the the blackboard white chalk pen I showed you yesterday. I just used my finger to swirl the clouds. Then the waterfall...I used a palette knife swiped downwards on the freshly applied chalk pen, and it created the waterfall effect. And because (I presume) I had squished the old acrylic paint in every direction on the paper, it created a texture for the chalk pen white when I used the palette knife. Hence you see water spray! That was a nice surprise! Then finally my black Japanese fude pen for the trees...

A horrid day outside. Rain and wind....
Take care
Have fun
Hugs if you need them...
Wow, another winning piece of art. A dark brooding place of vast heights, or a gentle flow between some small rocks, I can see either depending on how I look at it.
@dunelm Trampoline! I'm impressed with your present aches and pains, take care. :joyful:
@ianpspurs you seem to be cracking on with your garden, when is your first crop going in?

So enjoy today and be adventurous.

But they are also talking of banning gas heating.! Still you will be well hidden with all those flying machines about when the Carbon Van Detectors start to visit the streets. :joyful:

I MIGHT have thought that having factories churning out endless new products to replace old products that still have years in them would be an ecological disaster, ..but i was wrong obviously.

Nice to know the world conferences on CC and the such, will still be readily accessible by so many important peoples and celebs of course ..
( i'm mean what government doesn't need some rich superficial air head telling us proles, why we are oh so wrong and misinformed to want to DO what THEY only do because THEY have to... )

all of course while using the very latest £1000's tech available, because you just know the iphone/galaxy, etc all stop working once the latest tech arrives, and it's not like the natives digging out the unlimited elements from the soil really need decent wages, clean water to drink or air that's not polluted, after all.. THEY aren't celebs darlink, are they....(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foxconn_suicides)

I think we are all being railroaded into CC adaptions that MAY not be in our best interests or of the planet as a whole.
reminded very much of the famous lines re the holocaust, where the lines state they don't come for you as all, they come for you one by one, and by the time it's your turn, there is NO one left to speak for you.

yesterday meat,
today logs and fuel
tomorrow personal transport
and the list just grows...

Cough..'oops,, steps down off soap box, realises few really care"

oh, well..back in line.and back to watching them replacing the worlds economy by declaring everything redundant and making us buy new products to replace them with..
