Morning all (very early). Fbg of 5.8 today and you all know how I feel about that kind of number. Should I spin what is going on with the old IanP body in the en vogue massive win whatever way or the strictly factual cluster whatsit way? No formal exercise for a month, 8 rooms full of boxes + bags until builder finishes phase 1, spring on hold and me trying not to just eat salad or not bother as the idea of LC food is just too grim. In that story the numbers are doing amazingly well - Trumpian view. My gym (currently in pieces), new kitchen and puppies will be in place within 2 weeks, belongings can be unpacked and it should be salad weather shortly so things improve - the Johnsonian spaff the £s/ happy ever after view - (floods and deaths, what floods and deaths?). High numbers mean damage so I can't write off too many weeks/months - scientific reality. I'm warm, family close, have tea, loo roll, plenty of handwash and masses of alcohol so undeserved blessings abound - common sense view. Have a great day - may the bird of paradise fly up your nose, may an elephant caress you with his toes (Dickens J, philosopher extraordinaire)

Good Morning and another number too high 6.2 for me today.

Apparently it has been discovered that if you have a certain gene you can drink loads of coffee and the caffeine doesn't affect you. I think I must have that gene and so must my sister. I would have loved your Cafe Sumatra.
I have those very same genes.

Have to run daughter to school today then the day is mine so off for a Muddy Bike ride. Regarding Labrador dogs, @Krystyna23040 and @ianpspurs It seems only a short time since Moet our Labrador used to do these rides with me, he would run in front of me on the technical single track, knowing not to stop to lift (other word got zapped) his leg or sniff, could easy do 9 miles of the trail Follow the Dog (yes that is what it is called) without stopping and a whole day out exploring Wales on our bikes running to heal, but now he's grown old as does all living things.

Take charge of your days and enjoy.

Dennis looks so contented.

He’d worn himself out with excitement at the agility dogs I think!
I agree with your coffee comments - you really can discern the different varieties better if you have it black. My daughter drinks it so strong though - if she makes a cafetière first us to share I only have 1/2 cup and top it up with water - maybe she has that gene you mentioned.

Paintings for today.

Okay, I started last night before I went to bed.

I did exactly the same as yesterday.
But waited for each layer to dry totally before I did another one on top of the dry layer.

So, this is time consuming but not in the way you are waiting around in this instance.
So first layer on both papers at 8 pm.

Cat woke me at 9:55 pm. He wanted accompanying to his cat tray in the bathroom...really? So I did the next layer. Repeated the same painting on top.

Cat woke me at 1am with his whiskers all over my face. I wanted the bathroom, and so I did the next layer on both pieces of paper. Exactly the same again. That is doing the blue lines and shading, and spraying with the water mister.

3am and cat is patting my face with his paw. He wants the bathroom. But refuses to use the cat tray (he won't use the cat tray for No 2's). He takes me to the kitchen and blocked cat flap. I open the door, and he looks at me, the way he does when he wants me to accompany him...So we both go into my overgrown front garden and he is scratching around, performs his toilet and gets back in the bungalow before I do...So I do next layer on both pieces of paper. Same as before.

6:30 am cat is gently patting my face with his paw and wakes me up. He wants to be let out. So I open kitchen door, and lock it straight away because I need the bathroom as well. It is just about daylight now, so he can sort this out on his own...I come back to kitchen, he has come back in through cat flap (but still won't go out of it. I make a coffee. Look at paintings. Top one is finished. Bottom one on the index card is not an intense colour as usual. Why? Then I realise I have painted on the 'wrong' side...the absorbent side. The other side of the index paper is more shiny. So, I do the painting one more time on the index card. And then at the top of the index card, where the leaves are on the trees I sprinkle some of that granulation liquid. It doesn't seem to have much effect. I've not used it before, I don't know how you are meant to use it.

I took the photo while the index card was still wet. It has dried a bit now and there is shading in the leaves on the trees.

So here is your lesson for today on how to spend up to 10 and a half hours on a painting....but in reality the actual painting time for both paintings was less than 5 minutes!

4.9 this morning, probably because I didn’t eat after around 2pm. It’s not raining at present so I’d better beetle off and get out there. Have a good day everyone.

Morning All. 6.1 so down slightly. As I said yesterday whether I am in good 5s or bad 6s it does stick, I was like this after Christmas and yesterday’s food was spot on.
Some lovely photos @ianpspurs the new puppies are adorable how could you choose but glad you got two. @DJC3 Dennis and you look very lived up watching Crufts, who knows what new tricks he will start didplaying. @gennepher that as an exhausting account of getting your painting done, so thanks you for it. Lovely like the sketch pad especially the darker tree in the middle. @HarryBeau I wasn't able to download your pic of Harry and Charlie but glad they are getting on. I’m sure Lola will catch up soon.
I have a very beautiful pheasant circling my garden all of yesterday and woke me up this morning knocking on my patio doors. I dont know why the poor thing seems to be in distress. I know they dont fly unless they have to and when the cats got close yesterday he did fly up on the potting shed roof. I really dont know what to donsince he is a wild animal so have put some wild bird seed and a bowl of water out for him but maybe thats the wrong thing to do. Any POLITE suggestions or knowledge sharing welcome please.
Have a great Monday everyone. Stay well, stay safe. Hugs to All.

5.6 today a bit stressed as I am gearing myself up to my annual eye screening and review tomorrow. This is my subsequent one since diagnosis. Would be surprised if all was not well, but I've just looked at the website to remind myself what to expect and they mention recent blood results, I'm on annual review at my surgery so my next HbA1c is not due until end of July/August so I only have my meter readings, these are ok, but maybe not too accurate, show an average of 5.5 for the last month. I guess I will need to ring up to see if it is worth going. Pretty sure they will have something to say about my high cholesterol readings but tough. Anyone know if I will see a dietician again like I did on my initial screening? Last time it was a script kiddie who couldn't think outside of her narrow Eatwell guidelines, I found her neither use nor ornament. Not looking forward to this. Don't know why I get stressed what can they do to me.....

@Ryhia understandable to be a little apprehensive around the eye test and annual review. Your numbers are good, methods sound and posts show you are doing all the right things - for you. Lots of information about cholesterol on here including a long and detailed thread by Bulkbiker. And breathe.

Yes, I wont tag bulkbiker and jim layey but I have a lot to thank them for, as they encouraged me not get stressed about my cholesterol, when DN was threatening me with the consequences of not going on statins, Never ever had problems with high cholesterol prior to low carb but apparently I am a hyper responder and I was losing weight at the time of the last test.

Yes, I agree that some black coffees are just too strong or maybe too bitter. Those are the ones that I have to add just one spoon of cream.

It is interesting that excitement can wear our dogs out more than exercise. I often wish that I could just switch off and relax the way that dogs csn.

I actually do love having the coffee gene. Would hate to have to restrict my coffees.

Moet has had a wonderful life. He must have been a super fit - just like his human. Our Archie wouldn't ever have had the sense not to stop and sniff or lift his leg.

I often think that we are the lucky ones to grow old ,- even though we cannot do what we did when we were younger.
