What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

because @HarryBeau will represent me and I will surely win.
Okay krystyna it might be time to tell you that I work in criminal defence but shhhhh we don't need to tell anyone that they'll never know...I'll get my old nutshell books out (the idiots guides) and he'll never know...what are we going for a civil suit for intellectual property misuse or just a straight forward infringement of copy right?

I will leave it absolutely up to you as you are the expert. Poppy and Archie say they are happy to be witnesses. ☺

It was lovely to see it gennepher...it's one of those days when you wake up the sun is shining it's a beautiful day...brew a cup of coffee there's a little niggle in the back of your mind that all is not well...switch on the news & of course the crisis...so coming in to this thread where even if we don't all agree some of the times we can see things like this it put a smile on my face.

Well a friend/acquaintance was taken into hospital yesterday with Corona Virus. Whilst I hope she makes it, I think it will be a long shot. Lady in question is one of hubby's old lady posse. She is in her 80s and has kidney failure, she is on dialysis three times a week.

She had tested positive for coronavirus the other day but it was mild so she was allowed home. The day before yesterday was a dialysis day - the hospital wanted to keep her in but she refused. Apparently she came home from dialysis to find she was locked out and had lost her keys. She has done this more than once, hence she asked my hubby to keep a spare set. Nephew told us that she had had to sit 4 hours in hospital transport waiting for someone to come out to open her door. The locksmith had then given her 3 sets of new keys, but she had put them down when she got into the house and didn't know where she had put them. The lady phoned yesterday (she didn't sound well at all) to ask if we could pass on the keys we had to her Nephew who was waiting outside her house. We had a back door key which lock had not been changed.

This lady is one of those who was adamant she was not going to give up her liberty and stay in the house during lockdown so as far as I know when she felt well, she has been going shopping as usual. When we spoke to the nephew we found that both him and his wife are diabetic and his wife is also asthmatic and has recently recovered from pneumonia. He was not expecting to have to go into the house, he thought he was just delivering groceries, so was not geared up with anything to protect himself. We ended up having to give him surgical gloves and a bottle of my home made sanitizer. I had let him see me wash the keys with this before I gave them to him. Later found out that he had found his Aunt unwell and had rung his wife to call an ambulance without the lady's knowledge. She is now in hospital and has agreed to stay in.

We will never know how she picked up this virus and whilst I wish the lady well, it may seem harsh to say this bu I do wonder how many people have been put at risk because of poor attitude.

I'm sorry to hear about your friend same for @dunelm I did try to find the thread with news of his friend but this place moves at a vast pace so couldn't...I'm wondering if some of it could be a generational thing many people who have been through the war years, remember the Spanish flu episode & subsequent pandemics have a different mind set...as individuals we have to our best to educate & inform the risks are clear to me but others will have a different view point.

I do think politics and world events should be barred from this thread.
We can't really ban politics or world events from this thread...many everyday matters form dietary advice to what how our daily lives are affected are often have political undertones but we can be more mindful of others sensitivities...living in a different country or even part of the UK can give all of us an entirely different perspective on how we view these kind of matters...true there are other threads which deal with the heavier side of politics however if we are simply more mindful of how others are living where they are living how they receive their news & current events we can keep our comments & response in proportion.

I thought this thread was all about friendship, chit chat and fun. It would be a real shame to let politics ruin that, just saying. All Saskia has ever done is be loyal to her country and if others disagree then so be it. I bet there are those on our thread who voted for Boris. Maybe start another thread in General Chat called Trump, Boris and Me then no one gets hurt here. Just a suggestion.
I am just catching up on 24 hours worth and finding it quite upsetting. I always loved this thread. So much so its the only one I post in nowadays. It was fun with lots of lighthearted banter. And I learned something from others every single day. I love hearing about peoples lives, what they do, alone or with family and friends, the weather in their part of the world be it good or bad, and i especially love the daily artwork from @gennepher @Muddy Cyclist and @geefull.

I come here for light relief from what is currently a mad world. There are other heavier threads for discussions. I can make a choice to move away to the fbs with just a little chat and may do so but I will be extremely sad.

I have so many of these scenes I remember @HarryBeau because when J was alive we were always somewhere early morning like this. Almost every day it was possible to do so.
There is something peaceful about pre-dawn and dawn...
Thank you :)

6.2 today after a chilli con carne with cauli rice. Made with a jar of sauce so higher in sugars. It had kidney beans in and I ate them! I also dipped into my son's dorritos smothered with sauce, mozzarella and jalapeños. 2 glasses of wine and a small portion of nuts.

Peppered mackerel for breakfast then out for a long walk in the sunshine. Glorious today on the north west coast. Making the most of it.

I have enjoyed that time of the day gennepher but now there is no opportunity...as soon as I stir the beasts are plotted right outside my bedroom waiting for me on the top step...its a small price to pay for the amount of fun they provide & loyalty...maybe when they're older & are in the sleep most of the day phase I can get back to that occasionally.

When does that sleep most of the day phase happen? His Lordship hasn’t found it yet @HarryBeau and he is nearly 28 years old...

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen, but not to those have no tolerance and sense of humour. Get a life.

A nice round 9 this morning, I know why and I am not saying. Sympathy is not required.

Well folks do you ever wake up early then fall asleep again and over sleep, Yes or No ? Alf does.

Today is a mystery and I fully intend making the most of it, will you folks I wonder?
I really miss riding my motorbike, but being on lockdown riding is out of the question. Such is life and seeing as life is composed of birfdays happy birthday to Mrs @ianpspurs may she many more of them.
Now if you forgive me I must go and put some trousers and a teeshirt on, if I can remember how.
Stay well, stay safe and stay at home.
