Just watching the remake (2016) of Whisky galore. I really feel it is even more important for myself, @dunelm and the Sainted Mr K to continue our work of international importance. @Krystyna23040 I cannot over emphasise how vital it is that you support Mr K in every way possible while he is involved in this vital work. I dare not ask others to risk themselves in such selfless perils with no reward save that of knowing one is serving the greater good.. @Muddy Cyclist I missed the Gold a few times- you?
I have two tasting sets saved for the Christmas period but only 5 drams in each - so that only gets me to the 4th Jan. They are:
glenfarclas -15 yr old
Lagavulin - 16 yr old
Talisker - 10 yr old
Dalwhinnie - 15 yr old
Gelnkinchie - 12 yr old

Then interesting but only just:
Jonnie Walker
Monkey Shoulder
Jim Beam
Singleton
Loch Lomond

Very selfless task you have taken on there - such bravery. I have no idea anymore what is hiding where so my research will be more limited unless Julie agrees to forego frippery such as new carpets.:angelic: @SilverK wonderful jewellery and I will google that film.

Didn’t know they’d remade it. I love that film! Have you seen “Saving Grace”? It always reminded me of Whisky Galore.
I’m making earrings today. I haven’t done any Craft Fairs this year or any advertising as I thought I could do with a quite time but I’m still up to my ears in commissions!
Here’s some I made earlier.. View attachment 46227View attachment 46228View attachment 46229View attachment 46230View attachment 46231

To get back into painting, missed a few days, and a s Christmas Post needs sorting I have been painting Christmas Cards. Have gone for a very simple snow scene as I'm running out of time. A5 to go in precautions Card mounts less than 5 minute on each 12 a hour, they will have to do.:) I will put some shadow on the moon once they are dry.

Well they are great and I like the colour scheme and the theme - don’t get repetitive strain injury - you can’t take yourself to a tribunal.

Ah, carpets - what’s wrong with a couple of tapestries and a tree trunk burning in the grate.

Dangerous route to go down that one. I tried a similar approach. She may be small but feisty when crossed. Some very unladylike language and moves taught in that Bermondsey Grammar School for gels. Might well have worn straw boaters but dockers would have blushed at their language.

@JohnEGreen should really have that title. (Best man at our wedding was a Nottingham lad and proud of R Hood Esq). How di it go with Kath?
Ah, but does he have a long bow? :)

Kath, well it took all of 5 minutes. They can't remove the lump today but it needs to be removed another BCC so awaiting a hospital appointment because it needs cutting out. Thanks for asking.

Thank you, I'm only doing 12 which will be enough to last 6 years, at the cost of second class post I have to spread the damage to my wallet over a few years. :) It also keeps friends on their toes wondering if I'm still around or not.

I sympathise - I first thought that Mrs Miggins hailed from Tasmania but no, Yorkshire mum, Scottish dad - perhaps that is the same thing. Very small and with twenty odd years in the army under her belt, has a lexicon of interesting words and phrases.

Ah! That’s OK then. I am only doing one, for Mrs Miggins - a facsimile can be shared on social media.

We need to form a support group. I feel it only fair that we make Mr K an honorary member. Please let him know @Krystyna23040 - politely please. Meetings must remain top secret for now.

Mostly very lovely, I have learnt not to rile her because at 4' 11 and a half" yes the half inch is very important, she can be like a bull dog and me the bull.
You have all the qualifications but you must promise to take the unbreakable vow

Today's Advent poem is Launde Abbey by Malcolm Guite himself. I hadn't realised today was St Lucy's day nor that it was originally the Winter Solstice. The explanation of the poem in the book (Waiting on The Word by Malcolm Guite) is magical and mentions Guite's sonnet sequence on The O Antiphons ( I like those a great deal) and Donne's A Nocturnal on St Lucy's Day. We miss a great deal being a Protestant country IMHO. Currently watching the C of E Chrsistingle service so ties in as if planned. I'm enjoying Advent more this year than at any time but if my postings on Advent are getting too much please let me know.

Hi Ian, Isn't she the Patron St of Dominic Cummings? Don't you know! Spending his bonus on a shrine at Barnard Castle, perhaps! :)

Couldn't resist, now that I have my head up again.
Thanks all for the good wishes.
