What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Congratulations.
But you'll just have to have a very frugal retirement saving your pension if you are to leave them the inheritance they will expect! :)
Hmm. Their parents have already used up the GDP of a small country from us and their respective other sides. Life moves on apace. Never mind Uni fees, cars and weddings in exotic foreign places, houses are now considered part of the basic deal. I can't wait to see what that generation see as par for the course given what they already know as standard. Before that they need COVID managed and this bunch replaced before they do irreparable damage even unto grandchildren's children.

Today's offering of art from me... asked on some Silver Birch trees we passed yesterday, they looked scruffy in a thicket by the canal...

A4 watercolour about 1 hour.... (not quite this blue purple in the original, iPad camera in blue period :).)

BP...Now THROUGH the ROOF...:arghh:

Thank YOU..Mr @ianpspurs

Can you all please look very, very carefully down the back of your sofa(s), in your loft, sheds and garages. Maybe ask to be shown the contents of grandchildren's dressing up boxes.:angelic:

mmhh so incredibly

we needed consultants at extortionate rates to advise where to find other consultants in others countries who can go on 'THEIR' ebay/alibbab and order PPE from jewellers, turkey E-bayers et al,..while we ignore the home grown industries, begging to supply us...
now we need more consultants to go FIND the PPE we actually DID get delivered...mmhh ok

Sure there will be a wife / husband / family member / preferred friend able to help out..

it's as if Brian Rix & Yes Minister, had a very drunken threesome with frank spencer, and they kept the Love child
and just cloned it to fill an entire Government.

Toddlers in a nursery are better organised,...:banghead:

Sorry kids. shameful comparison:sorry:

Vaccine dose 1 duly delivered. Professional and caring operation from start to finish. The very best of what our nation does despite not because of over a decade of vengeful atrophy from barely disguised spite and non shooting (except for Jo Cox) civil war. God bless all those who organised and delivered that process locally and nationwide. There is the love - Agape. Sharp contrast with one very cynical politician using those heroes to deflect his callousness and shortcomings. Seems to want your vote but then is utterly careless with your life once that's over . Pfizer vaccine so a huge win in my opinion and the Dr who said she couldn't possibly say but gave a thumbs up and huge smile. I saw the low in Braemar @lindisfel. Little hope of suitable cabers to toss today.
Fabulous Black Eyed Peas number

I have the assessment for mine next week, but they want me to do a weeks bp tests morning and pm+height and weight measurements+ family history of diabetes and heart disease.
Surprisingly they didn't want to know if I was a Saxon/Dane hybrid! :)
Show them your seax and ask them where it was made

good evening all :)

4.4 today

Sheesh it was cold last night, not Braemar cold but we managed -14'C a mile outside the village and -10'C outside our back window.

Glad your jab went well @ianpspurs , mr gee had his first shot today too (Oxford/Astrazeneca) and it was a pretty slick operation at the local health centre.

They'd originally asked everyone to go in by the rear door but when we got there they had reverted to the main door as the paths were freezing in the shadow of the building (even with salt down) and because most of the group attending for injection are elderly they wanted to be able to observe everyone getting in and out safely :)

was quite a nice morning for the drive to town :)

We did some more snow shifting when we got back and then muffled up and had a walk.

Hope your day is treating you well :)

@dunelm - corvids ;) I'm glad you managed to get your diabetic review in :)
That's a fantastic rocky landscape and I love the weight and solidity of those cliffs above the mist :joyful:

@gennepher - lovely dawn picture with those trees silhouetted against the light, very effective :)

@Muddy Cyclist - Great, colourful treatment of those silver birches, I like it very much :joyful:

art bit - trying out pen and watercolour again, working on improving my trees, they have a lot to live up to on this thread :hilarious:
once again inspired by a work by Kathleen Caddick

brilliant painting. I love the trees.

Hi Dunelm,
Have you ever thought there is such a thing as race memory?
It's a bit mystical but the six months I lived at Great Ayton I felt at home, I aso have a similar feeling in Northumberland, particularly Holy Island.
D.
I don’t know about race memory - do you just find that some places feel more comfortable than others?

Good morning everyone from a powder coated morning in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of chicken salad came in at 5.0 this am

Trees, trees, wonderful trees. Thank you @Muddy Cyclist and @geefull.
@lindisfel - ouch!, for the blood draw. For the bewildered, ‘seax’ is a word for ‘knife’ and pronounced ‘sax’ - it’s the root word for ‘saxon’.
Success yesterday at my very late 2020 annual diabetes review - results next week.

Art for today - a wee dickie bird on rice paper about A4. Hope that everyone has a wonderful Friday. I am drinking koffy.

Good morning all. Bright, clear and bitterly cold here. Nasty little wind chill on my first 2k steps around the Slabbingtons just after 7 am. Has advantages as dog waste freezes rapidly and litter picker gathers it up so much more easily. Swipey feels 5.1 is what I must be, me not so much. 6 years ago I would have taken all this morning's data with glee. 6 months ago I would have been just as disquieted. Today and the next week is all about the next new baby P not me. Julie drives to Southampton later today. Son and DIL have pre cesarean COVID tests Saturday and baby comes Monday. Meanwhile, Julie tends to and enjoys our granddaughter then gets to see, hold and share the joy of the new arrival. The link between the data and that is crystal clear in my mind. Whilst no man can add a minute to his lifespan by worrying, you sure can subtract plenty by ignoring inconvenient truths. The big prize is to stay in the P family picture long enough, in the way a loving God plans for me, whilst avoiding becoming the LC bore that diminishes family time. I feel I am "called" to be here to serve not to make my LC a problem for others (LC is a major burden but for me to carry) Glad the first part of the review went well @dunelm and my thoughts and prayers are with you and Mrs Ds family at this time.

Thank you.

Those trees sit very strongly on that small finger of land on the shoreline. Well drawn trees and perfectly balanced composition.

Good photo of drive to town and clear roads for journey for MRs Gee's Jab.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all who are decisive about what colour socks to wear on these chilly days.

A 5.3 on that meter of mystery and whatever this Friday morning.

@ianpspurs I gave you a hug on your posting, perhaps I miss read it, but good luck with the new arrival and with fending for yourself.

I also feel a special mention is in order for @karen8967 whose posts and pictures always bring a smile, today's is a classic.

Well fellow posters, painters and gamers here today is a day of wonder, I wonder what mischief I can cause, third childhood is great, every moment precious and not to wasted on the mundane.
A question for our very talented @Muddy Cyclist have you ever had an attempt at the serious art of morris dancing?

Now koffy is calling, pressure on the bladder building I just hope I don't get things mixed up hehehehe.

Stay safe, stay well, stay at home and lastly stay warm......must now dash.
