Good morning all. Well, if you are here you've made it to the start of another day so that is point one on the list of thanks due to whoever or whatever y'all thank. No fbg for me, still mulling over what worked well in 2018 apart from location and absence/gestation of my little passenger. @Krystyna23040 glad the return to in person went well. Even your slower days seem hectic to me but you are soon to be supersonic so all one will see is a blur. @Muddy Cyclist all those modifications to Mrs M C's bike sound very technical and probably £s. The larches looked wonderful. @gennepher I'm glad your sleep was restorative and today's artwork tickles my fancy as it were. I like your bridge. Salmon day here - reduced £s W1 Alaskan wild since you asked - and more importantly, @karen8967 's meme has landed. Totes spiffing.

Thank you Larch in the Spring and Autumn provide us with a wonderful splash of colour.

@Muddy Cyclist , wow things have moved on hydraulics on treaders , darn sarf slang for bicycles, I am now imagining ape hangers on her bike .

Best modification to peddle bikes. The old rim breaks have no chance of stopping you on Steep Mountainbike trails. Mind you hydraulics used in anger does see a few riders go over the handlebars, 'Endose' they be called here, back wheel leaves the ground and saddle gives you a mighty thump on your derrière.

Please don't get me started on the bag for life scheme, I have had my bag for life for 43 years this September ( I think ), we have had our moments, nearly killed with a rolling pin, threatened with the carving knife, spent lots of time in intensive care, been told exactly what I'm worth and I still not allowed a replacement.

Good morning everyone, a bit late this morning here in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of leftovers pilled into the Ninja and cremated in a reenactment of a scene from The Whicker Man rocked in at 6.1 this morning proving that burned sacrifices and prayers to the gods get’s you nowhere.

Bag For Life - increase in price today. We have loads of bags that we have had for many years - in fact Mrs Miggins is the Imelda Marcos of fancy shopping bags. Loads in the car boot and a bag of bags in the porch. I have one bag for life folded up in a coat pocket - It’s not the original - when it wears out, I exchange it at the till. It is, after all, a bag for life so it can be exchanged.

Biscuits - I love a Garibaldi and a fig roll or two - anyone make their own low carb versions? A low carb lardy cake would be good.

Art today - mountains, just for a change. 7 x 3 inches on semi sized paper. Have a fabulous Friday, time for a late koffy.

No FBG this morning.
Hope to get back to regular posting once we are settled in France. Setting off in a few hours. I have to drive the car, with a heavily laden trailer. Have had one practice session with the trailer so it's a slightly nerve wracking prospect.
Poor Errant was so distressed by the disruption of packing, he retreated to his bed in the bathroom cabinet for hours.
Am wondering if he will remember La Rocher at all.

I have started Tryfan at Sunrise, need to give it a more solid feel, will finish Saturday.

Ouch x 2. One of our dogs broke/half ripped off a claw on our walk this morning. Whatsapped vets, with image of injury, who told us to bring him in. £70 later claw removed and antibiotics issued - for the dog. Can't afford many walks like that.

Mountains seem very fashionable at the moment, great range nice wash.

There is a very funny poem I think called 'My bag for life as Died' I'll see if I can find it on the net.

I always ask for it to be exchanged nicely, pointing out that I have outlived it although my eventual decomposition will be a tad quicker than said bag.

I remember riding to Devon from Lincoln when I was young, we had to walk down Countesbury with our racing bikes because the brakes were not good enough on the hill to stop us.

We have made it to Portsmouth. Now we are enduring the screaming wind, watching the turbulent sea and waiting to board the ferry. It's not going to be plain sailing.

cold, wet and windy here today It's down to 5'C today again. Middle of May and still wearing big wooly sweaters, whooda thunk?

Volunteering day yesterday so we were quite late back after eating out and we went out early to look at a leak in the bathroom at mum's, it isn't serious but needs to be fixed.

So, off we went into the town to the plumbers merchants to get the necessary bits and will probably go back to mum's tomorrow, we need to get our timing right though because it was fitted out a while ago there isn't a way of isolating the cold water feed to the bathroom without turning off the water at the stopcock (not that we can see anyway).

@Muddy Cyclist - striking larches, I love the contrast between the fresh glowing larch needles and the dusky purple you've brought into the background
Lovely sky for the start of your new painting too, I look forward to seeing the progress

@dunelm - I enjoyed both of your rock paintings, the muted background in the first is very effective at creating depth and today's mountain range has lovely scale

@gennepher - I'm glad that your rest has helped you get over the horrible shopping experience

Your first painting is spectacular with all that colour and I also like the texture you've used. Your blossom is just lovely and the bridge gives it a great sense of depth and perspective

@SlimLizzy - hope your trip goes fairly smoothly

@ianpspurs - I hope your poor dog recovers quickly

Oh dear, poor dog must be sore. I think you got off light at your vets but I agree vet fees are painful.

I do like yours today, I feel you have already mastered the new paper the light is so good especially on those distant hills.

Cold down here also, our outside singing on Thursday evening and again due on Sunday afternoon was and is cancelled, cold, wet and windy. I was tempted to rush out and get some Kiln Dried Logs and get the Wood Stove lit but decided not in the end.

Good mOrning and 5.6 for me today. Surprised after first indoor family meal this year. A slice of flan and half a baked potatoe was involved in returning this result.

No idea what the days got instore other than some hedge trimming, Holly so a prickly problem and wobbling on ladders.

thank you @geefull - I am enjoying the rock paintings. You seem to have cracked the paper though. You always get the light and here it’s picking out highlights in the background and bouncing off the water. All the best with the leak. I would be erring on caution and turning off that stopcock.
