What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good morning everyone from a dull but dry start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. Rain all day yesterday. Lighter in the morning so we did manage a drippy wander and a cafe visit with the girl in the bubble, a thing that she really enjoys - “where’s my toast and butter lady?” (10 seconds after ordering it). The immediacy of infants seems to have permeated across quite a few age groups in our modern world of back to frontness. Brother in law arriving again today to do some hammering and banging outside. I shall be on tea duty and maybe with a biscuit or two or a slice of Yorkshire Brack.
Art bit - two master ship on unsized rice paper, a bit bigger than A3. Have a marvellous Saturday if you can. Time for a pre-8am koffy.

Great dramatic scale...
Hope your coffee was good...

Good Morning Everyone
Needless to say my BG is raised from our evening meal with granddaughter and boyfriend naughty chocolate fudge cheesecake and cream healthy upto that point braised steak and onions, green beans and 6 homemade chips if you don’t count the chips they raise BG especially for me. But enjoyed our meal it’s a treat once a week with our family, but just remembered I’m out again on Sunday with another granddaughter and my eldest daughter we are going for a Sunday lunch in a very nice pub. WATCH THIS SPACE!!!.K
BG this morning was 7.6 then before breakfast it was 7.2.
Have a great day everyone K

The one I like is the plant based one. My dentist said that all the Weleda ones were OK.
Thanks Krystyna I have looked online I can get the toothpaste in Boots in town not sure if they sell all the range but the Weleda online site is available to order from if not. I do hope it works for me you were very lucky it cleared your Lychens Planus up. But I have read it can return probably with stress etc. though my stress levels are better they are not perfect but I can but try I need to be rid of this complaint it’s such a painful nuisance.K

Hello everyone from a damp and dreary area of Suffolk full of hardware straining at the leash to "do such things—What they are, yet I know not, but they shall be. The terrors of the earth!” Hopefully the leash holds beyond the 2024 US Presidential election and you know who is soundly rejected. Two broken* (see attached, I'm not claiming equivalence) nuclear armed ersatz Silverbacks beating their chests isn’t a prospect I relish. Moving on. A wonderful description of wildlife in your garden @gennepher accompanied by another magnificent kaleidoscope (a word I had previously never? typed). Triple thanks for that. @dunelm thank you for the art. Good news on your brother in law installing the decking? and interesting observation on the pervasive FOMO - at least that is how I took it. Just because the horror in Ukraine dominates "the news cycle" (24 hrs these days) doesn't mean individual sadness/grief/pain is any less acute or important to God. The deaths of Rod Marsh and Shane Warne being so close in time is sad for their close families but also to a wider cricket family. My middle son texted me a reminder of shared joy when my dad would randomly burst out with "bowling Warnie" in a faux Aussie accent. Priceless memory. @Krystyna23040 very smart cookie letting Mr K get soaked - definitely calls for a superior sausage roll as soon as the opportunity arises. Grandchildren care duties over for the week but two - brother and sister- will be here with dad later and a different two tomorrow plus 92 yo Nanny London. I implore you to take care but then I'm as mad as a box of frogs.

Thanks Ian.
I am out in the garden now in potting shed.
Sun is shining through the open door on me, and I can still 'see' Popeye sleeping next to me...now it's time for me to doze...cuppa tea is finished. Next door in the garage right next to my potting shed, the screeching machinery neighbour is screeching away, with his machinery saws or whatever. But can I hear a thing? Nope.It is as silent and peaceful as a graveyard just a few inches away from him...my cochlear speech processor is in the bungalow...
And I also am reading this thick tome...
I am up to page 249, or at least that is what my last yellow highlight tells me. I am just over 1/4 way through...

Hope you get so
My bargain dried cat biscuits which I was expecting yesterday didn't come until today.
That's okay, sometimes deliveries take longer.
But now I am b_____ furious.
I go out, and the delivery guy tells me I have to open the front door. I tell him the front door does not open, it is not in use, and explain to him that he has instructions on the DPD app to leave the parcels by the back door, and that there are a couple of photos I put on the app, as per DPD instructions, so that they are left at the right door and in the right place.
He refused, was very argumentative and nasty, and says he is taking my parcels back to the depot as he is walking back to his van.
I didn't have time to go in my house to grab my phone to prove the photos were on the DPD app.
I have paid for those parcels, the stray cats need that food, and I am having them now.

So I ROARED at him. Then told him in no uncertain terms to get those parcels to the back door.
He does as he is told, protesting all the while. Takes a photo, and leaves still protesting.
I check the parcels. There seems to be one missing. There is 1 of 4, 2 of 4, and 4 of 4.

He has not given me parcel number 3.

I check the contents of the 3 I have. I am short.

So, complained to DPD.
Complained to suppliers of my cat biscuits.

And on my iPad screen, a pop down menu from DPD, 'Would you like to rate ____ your driver?'

I never want to see that horrible obnoxious driver again.

If there is anything I need online that says DPD delivery, then I will do without, and go elsewhere even if it costs more.

Actually DPD round here have a bad reputation.

I have 3/4 of the cat biscuits I ordered. It just means I have paid a bit more for each bag.

We'll see how my complaints go, the supplier of those dry cat biscuits won't be too happy.
Hope you get some satisfaction from the two companies involved. Good luck

If it is "that" book you'll need several but at least it is a start. What snacks have you got?
Yes, that book. Just going in to make some more tea and come back Ian.
Snacks?
I don't do snacks, unfortunately they raise my blood sugars, even good snacks in the afternoon...
I have hundreds and hundreds of books in this potting shed on many subjects. Many are in plastic crates piled up under the bench. A few hundred on the shelves. I didn't read them when my library was inside the bungalow. The lighting even with lamps was too dark. But outside in actual daylight, I love reading real books.

Enjoy the tea and book. By snack I mean almost anything low carb which is essentially how it works for me .

Even eating a low or virtually nil carb snack this time of day raises my blood sugar levels Ian.
I have to stop eating by 2 pm
Eating after that, even virtually zero carb stuff will raise my blood sugar levels to over 10 or 11 in the night time hours.
I have got into the habit now of accepting that is so.
As long as I can have my cuppa teas this time of day, I am happy.

Bearing in mind the time of day you wake up is that equivalent to my aim of not eating after 6 pm then waking at 5.30 ish?. Makes sense.
