What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Australia has just flown a C17 in to Poland 70 million dollars worth of medical, food and ammunition for Ukraine.

I doubt if Ukrainians will agree with you.
Splendid stuff indeed.
Slava Ukraini.

But in context of conversation, you surely aren't suggesting that the only way to combat global warming is MORE flights 24/7 ?

Delivering products from the furthest edges of the world, just so we can all have the latest fad or unseasonal goods on tap.?

Much as I love the produce being available IF I need it , I have to recognise that the current model, isn't the best way forward.

But as said
Splendid stuff from Australia and the world
In a Nations moment of need

Good morning everyone and looking like another clear blue sky to start the day
Lovely walk into town yesterday but got dragged along to our GP surgery on the way so that Mrs Miggins could “nip in” and get some wear out of her mask. Then got dragged into a cafe - eggs Benedict without the muffin - substitute? oh, yes please, a full English on the side- odd look from waiting staff but they did ask. Mrs Miggins has a doctors appointment this morning and then off to visit one of her brothers. I shall cadge a lift into town and then walk back. Kitchen is now as smooth as a babies rump and all pink - wonder how far they will get today? Might watch the last episode of Lost Kingdom 4 as a catch up later on.

Art bit - still using up large sheets of raw rice paper. Hope your Mittwoch is a mighty one. Best make some koffy.

Okay. My idea yesterday was to use my portable security lights.
Some weeks ago I bought these solar powered security lights. But where I needed to put them, doesn't get the sun in the day. I needed them for the Amazon delivery guy who often doesn't reach me until the hours of darkness. And so when I am expecting them, the security light is placed inside the window (it still triggers off for someone outside), to allow them to see. It is actually a good system not to fix them, and recharge them in the sunniest window. And I can also use them indoors. I have a couple placed on the way from my bedroom to the bathroom, and so my night time visits to the bathroom are lit up automatically for me without me ending up turning 3 electric lights on. Definitely an economy measure in these days of fuel bill hikes!

So, I arranged the portable security lights last night around my thatched swing. The idea that it might startle Foxy Loxy, so he will eventually stay away. Last night, not only did he leave his visiting card, he was leaving his scent in my garden. It stunk to high heaven this morning. Also he dug up a pot of daffodils (I had buried them in the soil to see if I wanted them there, or if I wanted to move them to another location). Foxy Loxy moved the whole pot of daffodils to another location up the garden path without spilling a daffodil.

It took me awhile placing the security lights, because they couldn't be within reach of Foxy Loxy because of his propensity for relocating items in my garden. I had visions of Foxy Loxy walking down the street, lighting the way with my security light in his mouth.

Did my idea work? I don't think so. Despite the lights coming on, Foxy Loxy also took Popeye's very large teddy bear he used to sleep on when he was on my swing (it is a huge wooden swing for 3 or 4 people), and relocated that in my garden as well. Obviously with the security lights going on and off my sleep was disturbed last night. Got glimpses of a tail but that was about it.

I am busy today, but tonight before I lock up, I will be repositioning those security lights, and I will be scent marking as well. Google tells me to spray white vinegar...

I have plenty of white vinegar, I use it for cleaning.

Creative today. Took a photo with the Laboscope app in my garden to make a kaleidoscope. I worked on it a bit in Procreate for Popeye (I could have done it a bit better but I am running out of time...), and then name and frame in Snapseed.

Do what you need to do today.
More coffee and tea and a shower needed here...

Oh that fox - can you find his entrance and exit and block them. Best get rid of his scent. Some folk talk about putting chilli flakes by entrances, exits and where they toilet after cleaning it all up. Lights may eventually work but I suppose it depends upon how much cover there is in your garden for Foxy Loxy to hide in. Lazy fox will keep coming though if there is food to be had. Another smashing kaleidoscope- lovely contrast with the green and yellow leaves.

@gennepher that's a shame that the lights didn't work. Hopefully the vinegar will work.

Thanks @dunelm

My garden is badger proof. I finally achieved that when Popeye was alive. So all lower entry points are blocked. The way the stray cats get in now is over the 7 foot Fort Knox fence my neighbour built. Or by leaping on to my garage roof, or other adjoining garage roofs to enter my garden. Which they do very adequately. A favourite ploy of the stray cats is to sit on the corner of the roofs and stare me out until I go out and feed them.

Foxy Loxy will be entering the same way, he is agile. So, there is nothing I can do about that.

There is a lot of cover in my garden. Nothing I can do about that, it is for the birds and wildlife and hedgehogs.

There is no cat food left out any more during the night. Foxy will have to learn that.

'gennepher's cat diner' will only be open in the hours of daylight from now on. And I am virtually always in, at the back of the bungalow, or in the garden. Foxy is going to have to learn.

I do have one more strategy which I already have, and that is the driveway sensor which barks an alarm. I got this initially for the delivery guys (because they never ring my flashing bell), and it alerted me to the delivery guys. It is portable...

How popular will I be with the neighbours at night?

But there again, they have real dogs that bark at night...

I just need to disable the blues and twos flashing light with it.....

Greetings everyone from a clear, bright, gorgeous blue skied but crisply cold Forest Heath, Is this late winter or pre-spring? My mother always insisted she was born on the first day of Spring - March 21st. Fbg here is a known unknown but I may fit Swipey later since rampant bg is not a known positive for anyone. Wonderful kaleidoscope @gennepher with Popeye all kitted out for The Last Kingdom. Best wishes for #foxgate. I can't say I have ever smelled fox scent even though they, or allegedly badgers, had a voracious appetite for poultry Back Home. Thank you for the art and update on the kitchen fitters @dunelm. Take care on your mini Wainwright today. Food miles? A guy who has an avocado for an avatar and uses almond milk, French butter etc, should be more self-aware really. Mote and beam son, mote and beam. I do prefer the UK halloumi and salmon. I am surrounded by livestock, salad, sugar beet and grain but all of it depends on imported fertiliser, seed or labour. Not to mention the carbon footprint of the hardware and personnel of the kindly US military in this area. Slight cognitive dissonance from being lectured on green issues by people who spent years trying to denigrate the people and produce closest to us and lauding the cheap food (and shoes, yes you JRM) on offer with many more air miles. Go figure. Meanwhile stay safe, help those in need just now then try your best to figure out your stance on other issues over time. I don't think the good Samaritan spent too long working out if his aid was earned ethically or his carbon footprint.

Very tired and cold this morning, indeed lost most of the day to dozing on the settee Huddled under a fleece blanket.
09.03 woke middle of the night, far too hot.
Got up for a while. 4.45AM FBG 6.1.
Eventually went back to bed, but forgot FBG when I got up for the second time.
Productive morning. More digging in the veg patch and today planted some very weedy looking cauliflower and cabbages.
Was hoping to rake and seed, but common sense said stop now.

All in all and excellent result for common sense which isn't particularly common actually.

Well done that common sense, rake and seed can wait a bit longer.

4.9 for me have a good day everyone
Hope your doing ok karen8967 K
Not been on for a few days been very busy getting out and about just anywhere has long has it was out travelling, family problems I need to deal with but the stress it caused is just too much, so the fight or flight situation it causes for me it’s flight can’t take the heat so I get out of the situation, hubby knows how to get me to calm down so we went out everyday from Sunday onwards. No time to stop and think just busy myself with doing other things away from the situation that causes me anxiety and stress, but I’m feeling much calmer now. BG this morning was 7.3 when I got out of bed then 6.8 before breakfast forgot to test after this. K

Agree ..sensible to stop

Far too easy to overdo things.
In our mind it's "only a little bit more, I'm fine honest"

But pretty sure our bodies win when it tell us otherwise ..

Well done taking note.

Hope you feel better and have s more restful sleep tonight

Btw, liked but never replied to your elbow post reply to me.. unintentionally rude :sorry:

Nice, (for me, obv not you ;))
To hear others understand the discomfort.

Disturbing how one spot can cause such disruption to our sleep.
