What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

4.7 this morning. It seems that the higher carbs over Easter have really woken up my pancreas and it is keeping blood sugars lower than it normally does.. It will be interesting to see how long it will take for it to give up and allow the blood sugars to go back to the 5s and 6s.

Fbg 6.5

I can smell a cooked breakfast wafting through my open door into the garden...

gennepher's cat diner is busy this morning with four footed, then various two footed, then the parade of the gingers with each ginger stopping by my open bedroom door into the garden to have a conversation with me. One ginger has hypnotic green eyes, and the straightest of white whiskers sticking out at the side of his head like an aeroplane...

Creative today is one of the illustrations from my memories for the grandkids and my kids. I am just 17. I have passed my car driving test. And with the aid of this blue Vespa (and maybe my mini dress which I made myself), I passed my full motorcycle licence! I knew the correct answers to every one of the examiner's questions. No helmet was needed in those days...

Let us hope the sun actually comes out and shines properly today. My fingers are icy cold typing this...
Coffee needed.
Diner needs replenishing.
Have a good day.

Wonderful illustrated story telling. Making your own clothes at 17 - great skills. I hope the sun shined for you.

Good morning everyone from an overcast yet clearing sky here in the dark and dangerous north - make your mind up, there are coats lining up to be chosen. A day of hunting the Snark yesterday - in the form of breakfast cereals and other ‘essentials’ for my pal to take back to LA. Suitcases the size of glamping yurts and in plural! More Snark hunting today I think. Garden tidying to get the garden bin filled before it goes out tonight - what we need is a shwubewy like the Knights that go ‘Ni’. Bathroom fitters due today - what fun!
Art bit - trees. Have a wonderful day if you can, let the sun shine in as they sing in that there musical Hair. Time for some koffy.

Fbg ... taking a sabbatical from the finger prick for a few days. Hands are getting some nice hand cream on them and massages for a few days. They are getting a holiday. And I had also bought a rechargeable hand massager. Prior Covid I used to have various treatments - reiki, back and shoulder massage, and hand and lower arm massage. But that stopped with lockdowns etc. The people I went to have moved, gone on to different stuff, or left this country. I am not searching/looking for new people, so it is going to be machines from now on. I did not like this clunky pink (it was £20 cheaper in pink, you know I like a bargain) thing that massaged my hand. I nearly sent it back. I can only use the lightest massage on it, anything else is too strong. And I cannot see a large hand fitting in it, it would be very uncomfortable. But I got used to it, and cannot wait to put my hand in for a treatment....

All the usual suspects for the cat diner, and Shadow, as usual, first in the queue.

The sparrows are having an altercation at the moment. It is the same 3 sparrows that have been together in a threesome since last year. They were young sparrows last year, one male and two females. Every now and then they have an altercation, but mostly they co-exist in harmony. I have no idea if they came from the same nest last year, or if they had simply bonded as a group early on, and they always feed together as a threesome on the fatball feeders. I have always watched out for them.

But I noticed earlier this year that the male sparrow appeared to be sweet on just one of the females. He was always taking a bit of fatball in his beak and feeding the female he was sweet on, even though they were both on the fatball feeder together. From a human perspective their relationship appeared gentle and tender and it was lovely to watch. But female sparrow number two was 'jealous' and wanted feeding also. Male sparrow was having none of this, he was not feeding her as well. Hence he attacked her, and there is a mid air altercation with wings and beaks and one heck of a lot of noise. Meanwhile female sparrow number one is happily eating the fatballs at the feeder. Then male sparrow drives away female number two out of the garden. But she does an about turn mid-air and returns to female sparrow number one at the feeder, and they feed happily together. Finally male sparrow returns, feeds together with both of them, and starts feeding his favourite female again....then trouble again...

I did tell him last year he was courting trouble with two females in his menagerie.

Creative - having a break from illustration, and so back to kaleidoscopes probably for a few days...
And it will be wild flowers in my garden. Today is Honesty.

Time for coffee...

Have a good day...

Busy day for you today @dunelm

I love those trees, they seem joyful to me!

Enjoy that coffee...

Hello everyone from the home of today's birthday girl JKP. Bright but cooler here today which appears to be the forecast pattern for some days. @Krystyna23040 sad day for your locality yesterday but good news on the dog adoption. Personal tragedy is often lost in the big story but even superstars suffer heartbreak. Interesting impact on fbg of more carbs. @dunelm thanks for the art, hope the bathroom fitting and garden clearance are a triumph darling, a triumph. Enjoy foraging for items not available in the US of A. @gennepher I'm glad the hand massage machine works for you. Another example of your ability to triumph over adversity. Thanks for more tales of wildlife in your world and the kaleidoscope. Two grandchildren plus unicorn here for a while before JKP's mystery treat - I suspect afternoon tea for her and MIL. Enjoy today safely. An apology, sadly not for every one of the 1000 days of mendacious narcissism, should be a classic of the genre. Oddly, that seems set to be a similar pattern to the weather forecast - no change for the foreseeable. Granddaughter is currently dancing to Disney songs for JKP before taking a Unicorn Sparkle ballet class - what’s not to like?

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all who know what day it is today.
Blood sugars
Yesterday after a trip to Mordor 4.7
This morning 6.2
In all of the different dimensions and realities today is a rare event in being a Tuesday, but feels like a Monday to me, me’s and myself.
Here in Tilehurst Towers today is being planned by Mrs J, it might be a good idea to listen to her, but why break the habit of 43 years of marriage?
Stay safe all

Happy birthday to Mrs @ianpspurs

Another 7.3..

Balancing the food act, one battle at a time, body framework then internals,

All tick a box as 'Reasonable'...but sure with all the juggling I'll be dropping some plates later on in life..ho-hum.:sorry:

But on a positive note, improvement has been noted of late :D

Tiny, miniscule even but improvement none the less

I was last out Thursday just gone.
Sunday glorious & after the few days rest I felt GOOD

So , a slow circuit of our street (up one side, down the other) gave me a new PB.:D

Inspired I set off on a 2nd circuit, much slower as expected but intended more as stamina training
(Yes, you at the back, I hear you snigger.)

But from a standing (laying if I'm honest )
4 month start,
I've discovered, there are no hills, everything is a mountain , so a poor time, no PB. .:arghh:

But I felt like rocky , as I approached our steps once more..(no climbing up and saluting with arms raised high, sadly)...but I was doing so in my heart

A trip to shops on scooter
One cold beer amongst other items, and I sat in the sun with Marley snuggled up, once he realised I had no food for him

The sun on my face, cat nearby, one cold beer & the football on the radio playing quietly .

PERFECT.

More days like that, please ≤ pray >:)

Maybe not a year but the sentiment is important. Destiny is all Uhtred of Lundenwic.

Monday

Sister in law, kindly lent me her E-scooter.
Not a fan previously
(More my age, if I'm honest, if I was 20 again, I'd of had one in a heartbeat )

But needs must .:nurse:
But useful as it is, it worries me.

Technically illegal, and some have been seized by police, but they are very popular here in the capital.

I do only envisage using it for a short while until I'm more able to mobilise physically BUT..
The worry of it being seized (unlikely, she and others tell me )
Makes me NOT want to use it, which defeats the object.

Been doing some research on eBay, prices models, pro's v con's..and finally pulled the trigger and snagged my own one

New these things go for £350 upto £1800 & beyond.

I got mine for a fraction of that, and when I'm done, I'll get a good portion of that back ...win/win :D

Very happy with purchase, almost like new and all functioning as intended

& now, no guilt..what will be, will be .:)

So from
Zimmer
Crutches
Legs
To wheels ....wheeee.:D:hilarious::hilarious:

Have a good un, y'all :headphone:

A very fitting song choice. Thank you

And Uhtred of Lundenwic...:hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

You'll be fine with the E-scooter just say you are a sovereign citizen. Courtesy of Marina Hyde in today's Guardian - I found it a good read as they say. BTW, can your boys wallop the Woolwich Nomads please?

Very late post,
FBG this morning 5.8
Excessive amount of puddings, chocolate, pasta, bread and cake might have something to do with this.
Another busy day with houseguests preparing us pasta and salad, (their breakfast, our lunchtime) then tea and cakes at neighbours house this afternoon. Home made brioche and jam along with chocolate fondant. All delicious and carb laden. Have never seen such a huge brioche and by the time we left there were very few remnants. Later houseguest produced enormous bowl of popcorn...
Tomorrow we plan to visit local market and park.

A brilliant fbg considering carbs are involved @SlimLizzy
Have a good day today at the local market and park.

Fbg...on sabbatical from daily jabbing the finger

gennepher's cat diner was extraordinarily busy yesterday with furred and feathered creatures. Just using it as a social hub. No new ones, just the regulars making the most of it, with the furred ones patrolling the garden constantly yesterday, and the feathered ones clearing all the bugs off the willow stems, and keeping my roses aphid free.

Creative is a kaleidoscope in laboscope of wildflowers - the Jack-By-The-Hedge today but fartnarkled a little ...

Drunk coffee and tea...need more...

It looks to be a pleasant but slightly chilly day. Have fun!
