This is from a week ago. I am still playing catch up on the nighttime trail camera. Some nights there are very little usable/watchable clips, or the batteries run out! Other nights there are a lot of animals and so video clips.

Cat, Midnight, sits on swing (in the rain). The roof on the swing shelters him! But he likes sitting there at nighttime just watching...

No starlings came yesterday. It looks like those sparrows sorted them out the day before!

Creative is a cold bitter autumn painting in Procreate.

The weather here is really bitter.

Time for a cuppa.

Good afternoon everyone. Not too good today - yesterday was a free at the point of delivery, once in a lifetime Pneumonia jab and the point of delivery is now all sad and uncooperative. Rest of body has joined in and wants yo-yo between falling asleep and dashing to the loo. Art bit - so far. Hope to be back tomorrow - no koffy - can’t face it today.

Good morning everyone. The results are in and I'm negative for COVID. My serum glucose at 4.25 ish yesterday was 4.4 but since the lab test was up to 3 hrs later it may have been up to .5 higher which would still not be all that bad. The tests were put back by 3 hrs as another patient needed emergency use of the isolation room which meant no visit to Ely Cathedral to see the G4 concert and grandson's choir. After well over a year the roadworks on the Newmarket bypass section of the A11 are finished so the journey to and from CUH is much faster. @gennepher that creative certainly gives the idea of a bitter day so thank you and hug. @Krystyna23040 what a lovely gesture by the pub manager and the food is good so a real winner. Groceries were here by 7.45 am after a 5.30 start in MK. Here's a story to which I can all too easily relate https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-edinburgh-east-fife-63663006. On a slightly lighter but important note linked to the uncivil war some elements of our govt and r/w media want to stoke I'm with this team https://www.theguardian.com/comment...ds-if-only-it-wasnt-so-easy-to-laugh-at-them- Enjoy your day safely with due care and consideration for others.
Not sure what I am defined as - not a snowflake certainly, but it appears that, born in 1945, I am a year too old to be a boomer. I take the point of the Guardian article and am probably likely to recall what I can of my teen years when everything was so dramatic when I hear youngsters agonising over their lives. But 'm not sure that today's young will all survive their traumatic existences to reach the serious and real traumas of adult life. There are so many more pressures than I was under during those years - we only had to worry about nuclear annihillation while sitting under a table with white painted windows (all achieved in 4 minutes). We, of course, didn't have social media to contend with.

I had my Welsh visitor this morning (she enjoyed her brownie) and we were discussing cancer and she was wondering why both she and her late husband had had cancer (hers removed surgically, his not diagnosed, despite frequent visits to a doctor who didn't find anything wrong until he was only a few weeks away from the end). She understands why he died and she didn't but she doesn't understand why she is the only sibling who developed cancer or why other people don't seem to develop it despite her belief that everyone over 70 is bound to have some form of cancer, active or otherwise. Why, for example, were the cancers that I have had so minor and hers so serious? My only answer - just good luck.

My brother has the same good luck, but he has had other serious health problems. Is he lucky? Am I? Maybe we just have cancer resistant genes. We both have minor carcinomas on our faces but they very rarely come to anything, although apparently they could. Some of mine did - unfortunately one right on the end of my nose so very apparent but more a vanity thing than concerning. Another minor one on my hand and another under my eye - none really serious and promptly dealt with. The bowel ones were a bit further on when discovered, but still eminently treatable. Just lucky, because I don't see why any supreme being should single me out for special care, more than my friend. Am I being heartless when I say that I don't feel guilty for my good fortune?

You are on the border of the Post War and Boomer 1 generations according to the attached. As for the cancer of course you shouldn't feel any guilt just count your blessing.

Gentle, socially distanced hug for that. Rest up, take care and try to stay as hydrated as feasible. We'll all be here when you are ready to share more of your art but all good things are worth waiting for so no hurry.

Oh, I do, Ian. Every night and every morning. And during the day. Not that I count diabetes as a blessing, or the damage my own lack of drive has done to my health. Despite all my railing at current problems, I do feel blessed - and lucky!

Can you face maybe herbal or fruit tea? Or even warm water with or without lemon. You need to keep warm and have plenty of drinks, especially if you are having to keep having to dash to the loo. Take care and I hope you get over it quickly.

Still circling the higher 6's ..6.8 this morning .

Sun was shining this morning, so took the little e-bike out for a test run.

Lovely little cycle along the Thames Riverbank walk in the sunshine
Cold & a touch windy, but very enjoyable .

Pedestrian & cycle lane for miles heading west.

Ave speed 5 MPH fast enough when sharing space.
Max speed under power was 13 MPH
Top speed while pedalling 18 MPH..above two on proper roadway.

I kinda felt comfortable..still a little twitchy around certain vehicles..but it is easing.

( I find the e-bike to feel safer & more publicly acceptable then the e-scooter.

So much so I'll be moving that on for someone more adventurous to enjoy , soon.)

I can cycle normally, but nowhere near as far as I could .

So nice to able to extend the ride so effortlessly.
It's a real game changer for me.

Already considering put a few pennies away and getting a more modern one around birthday time first quarter of next year.

But for now, rather pleased with how this has worked out.

Enjoy the day.

Good glucose levels but such shame that the delayed lab test meant no visit to Ely Cathedral to see the G4 concert and grandson's choir.

I have the worst case of buyers regret ever. The item is non returnable and has significant ongoing maintanence costs. No idea what to do with it now. Its proof that looking good is not enough.

Shock horror - I have had enough of Kiki. She bites and scratches, climbs up our legs leaving claw marks galore. Seems impossible to teach her gentler ways. We have had to cancel going to UK for Christmas because she is not going to be safe around my mother who is 90 years old, with T2 and tending to be wobbly on her feet. Can't get a cat sitter. There are no catteries within reasonable distance. No neighbours handy either. She still has four meals a day and it's not safe to leave her outside in tbe hunting season anyway.
I have several bitemarks on my face and hands along with literally hundreds of claw marks elsewhere. Since she now weighs 1.6kg the climbing up requires her to dig her claws into our flesh, lea I g many wounds.
Oh no - I do hope Kiki's behaviour improves soon.

Hope you feel a bit better now @dunelm. You must be feeling bad if you can't face a koffy.
