What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Afternoon all.

A year to the day since my accident.

Geared up yesterday to celebrate by returning to Richmond park with the furry nephew

A regular haunt but out of bounds mobility wise ...until now

I give you "Frankie: in the Great Outdoors "

An interesting year for you which has ended with genuine taking back control not the mendacious version. Great idea to celebrate that way and Frankie seems suitably grateful. As he's such a handsome chap have a song for him from all those female dogs he meets who can only wish.

Can't we have our more stable, old lives back...it was bliss before and we didn't know it...
Not until someone stands up to the purveyors of the delicious but heart breaking irony embedded in the falsely idolatrous worship of the same “Margaret Thatcher (who) used to invoke the rule of law at every turn. If she did that today, many in her party might be tempted to view her with suspicion.” Taken from this brilliant, IMHO, analysis of how we ended up here https://www.theguardian.com/comment...braverman-human-rights-undermines-rishi-sunak.

Temperature here was -5.5 at 0900 and still the same when we were off to town 3miles away. Cars were still freezing up whilst defrosting, temperature in town c. -3.0c.
We've still got to get to the supermarket and pay credit card bill at bank, post was late this month.

I don't think much to government policy on climate change in opening up the old under sea pit at Whitehaven.
D
Maths question - a mahoosive hole under the sea is full of water. A garden hose is lowered into the icy depths and connected to 4 (yes 4) solar powered pumps donated by a local garden centre - how long…..

That sounds suspiciously like those how long to fill some shoddily plumbed leaking bath or some Frank Spencer surrogate carelessly leaning a ladder against a wall I endured. That later caused myself and trainee maffs teachers to exchange, shall we say, frank and honest views on whether teaching a fish to ride a bicycle was important. Wasted on them but some went an odd colour and said but, but. Livened up Friday afternoons though.

Thank you for that informative link @ianpspurs

Good morning everyone from an already busy start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. Bin noises as they are dragged kicking and screaming like vampires into the light. Even before that, Mrs Goggins the Postmistress was scratching on the door well before first light with a couple of parcels. Wonder what Mrs Miggins has ordered now? One of our strings of Christmas lights is quite old so as a bit of a pre-festive quiz, I have loosened off the 97th bulb (a prime) so now none of the bulbs light up. Just to make it interesting, I have placed the little box of spare bulbs (as we still have some) in the drawer of mystery that is modeled upon Mary Poppins’ Gladstone bag. Art bit - are we beginning to spiral? Have a marvelous day, my koffy is now ready.

I feel like a latter day Jonah .....thinks....I hope God gave this whale an antacid!

Today's Advent poem from Malcolm Guite's anthology https://malcolmguite.wordpress.com/blog/. Attached is The Great Ship of The Fens at night and some wonderful views of the inside plus a haunting arrangement of a favourite of mine

Good to celebrate the Conception of the BVM with nectar for the ears.
Those Fen boys and gels scrub up well when someone has either made sacrifices or gifted them angelic voices. Hmm Kier hard sell in some parts. Ely is definitely commuterland these days, farms can still make money and Waterbeach barracks is close. Bah, humbug is available at CurmudgeonsrUs if that too hasn't closed down or gone online only.
Always reminds me of midnight mass as a kid, falling asleep but desperately trying to stay awake.

A little overreached myself today.

Idea was a short walk by the Riverside .

Soon realised I'd bitten off more then I could chew

Leaning heavily on the crutch, I took a few pics & headed back to the car.

A pic of the 2nd best team Fulham has in the premiership. ;)

And a pic of Putney bridge in the distance.
