Went into Lakes and spent sometime in a wood at Powter Howe near Bassingthwaite Lake this am listening for singing woodland species.

There looks to be a lot of visitors to the area this year.

I am finding it very difficult walking but hope to get going again soon.
Had to have a rest this pm

Fox & Badger & Cats - a busy night - Midnight watches

Miss Fluffy, the baby sparrow I saw for the first time yesterday, made a heck of a racket when back in the nest yesterday. She didn't stop cheeping. Then I realised there was a second cheep, slightly out of synchronisation with the main cheep, every so often, then the cheeps synchronised again (the wonders of a cochlear implant - I'm not so good with people voices, but I can identify how many birds are in a nest demanding food!). So, Miss Fluffy must have a sibling. This morning Miss Fluffy is out and about and demanding food off her parents, who are both enjoying their new found freedom and chasing each other...

Not up yet...awake thanks to that internal body clock now back running on 'work mode' timescale.
So no fbg as yet.

An opening go on the bobsleigh run of fbg yesterday morning, had the judges awarding a derisory 8.2.

Bad, but at least I didn't crash.

A mix of a day Thursday.

Had appointment with specialist to check trajectory of recovery.

Very pleasant gent.

Impressed at efforts made to recover.

However, he believes recovery is at an end in real terms, and in fact the leg, ankle knees combo, may be regressing...so sending me off for MRI scans.

In his dictaphone (?) Notes I heard him describes how i now meet criteria for being disabled....
( petty, but it saddened me to hear that.
So left a little down.)

Bounced back on way to gym.

Then, despite knowing the knee doesn't like having pressure applied, we did one exercise on cable machines where the leg pulls on a weight that had me wincing & for first time pulling out of an exercise.

Nagging me rest of session.

A tad tender going to bed, and was difficult to bend next morning
(Felt like knee cap was locking or sliding over a ridge )

Reluctant to miss work, I made my way in.

Seemed the movement itself helped me 'run it off'...(a euphemism for walking slowly with Distinctive limp, in this case)

As for the 8.0...?
discipline crumbled on way home, pitiful excuses made, exonerated actions, blah, blah, blah.

Stopped off, bought beers, drank beers....

lessons learned, move along folks, nothing to see here...

Yes, I know ....I even tell myself..idiot. :banghead:

But done now , so spilt milk, no cry yada yada

Otherwise life is good.
Day off today, so changing tyres for new ones on Ebike...so my day's planned out, might need a little test ride after, as ya do ;) ..hoping for the promised sunshine

Take care all .

Late to post this today.

Yesterday I was sitting on top of my bed in the afternoon doing some writing, and suddenly Mr Magpie flies into my bedroom (The door was open into the garden) and stands on my bedside table looking at me. I look at him, tell him he's not meant to be in my house, and he turns around and flies away. He was less than a metre away from me. I didn't have my sound processor on, so I have no idea if he 'spoke' to me but his beak didn't open, so we'll assume he didn't. I then decided to cover all the items in my bedroom with tea towels (they were the nearest thing to hand) just so he couldn't steal them. I don't know whether that will work.

This morning I was out early because I had blood tests. I explain to the lady who was trying to find a vein that my veins are a bit difficult. So she stopped, what have you drunk yesterday...tea and water I said...what have you drunk this morning...tea and water I say.

Next time you're due for a blood test she tells me, knock off the tea the day before, and just drink water and on the morning before the blood test knock off the tea and only drink water. You can do what you want when you get back home, you can drink all the tea you want but do not drink tea the day before the blood test. Why I asked? Because tea shrinks the veins, dehydrates you and we can't find the veins if you drink tea. Drink water the day before and the morning of the blood test and you will be just fine she says, and proceeds jabbing me trying to find a vein.

It is now 9:00 a.m. and I go to the chemist to pick up my missing meds, I have the owing form in my hand. But there is already a long queue. They appeared to be looking for medicines unsuccessfully again. But what it does it turn out to be is that there are no meds for the customers. Quite a few people walked out with no meds and they had a bit of discussion with the counter assistant but I wasn't quite sure what was going on. There were quite a few people with owing slips and they presented them, and they were told something and they walked back out with their owing slips and no meds.

I presented my slip and I was told to go and wait at the front of the chemists and so I sat on my walker.

About 20 minutes later the counter assistant comes out, (and I have no idea why I had to wait for so long just for this), and she tells me that they are not in. So, do I come back in next week, I asked? That won't be much point, the counter assistant said. May I ask why, I said.

The counter assistant looked every which way except at me. Because they won't be in, she said. And why won't they be in, I asked again. Because they won't be coming in again. I saw no point in asking anything any further because people listening are beginning to stare at us by now, because I was the only one who asked so many questions. And the counter assistant looked like she wants to get back on the other (safe) side of the counter.

I am stunned. I didn't feel safe asking more questions in the chemist. I go to bed when I get home. I am tired anyway after waiting in the chemist for so long.

Just woke up 2pm. I feel like I am wasting my day and time again. A part of me feels like I am giving up when all these problems arise, and just going to bed. But I am tired

I have a lot on my plate this 2 weeks and I need my energies just for that. And to top it off, something else is coming up which wasn't supposed to happen until September, but is now happening next week, and I just do not have the energy to deal with all this September thing which is now next week, they insist on me providing some more paperwork asap....they have already had the paperwork, but want it again.

Anyway when I woke up, my head had already thought of a couple of strategies on the missing meds, which I shall set in motion, when I have some head space.

Wildlife nighttime video.
The foxes were very active this night, but did not disturb Midnight.
Two new young foxes in my garden.
One has black front legs.

This Creative is a raspberry flower, done in iPastels and then Procreate. It appeared from nowhere into my garden last year, and grew vigorously. The raspberries were not very palatable, and Google told me it was a foreign raspberry. But I cannot remember the name, and Google this year is telling me it is a blackberry, but the flower is wrong.

Now, I am going to find my hidden bottle of sherry...

Have your best day...

Oh Genn.

What an absolute nightmare your chemists is.

I so wish I could swap you mine.
So helpful, friendly & just goes that extra bit to help everyone out.

I can't think of any better solutions, but can only offer my best wishes your determined nature helps you find a solution to this ridiculous mess they put you in.

Hi, I'm new here
Hi @mickeyg01 .

Welcome to our little corner of the web.

Like many others such threads, we post up our meter readings for the first one of the day...(fbg)

Which offers a guide to how well we're managing our type 2 .
To which it's common to reply by emoji if good, and a hug & a short reply sometimes if its not so good, by way of encouragement.

Do you have a meter yet, to take & tell us your reading ?

8.25am FBG 5.4 perfect
We usually have our French lesson on Friday but I am not sure if we will be getting one today because the other couple we share the teacher with have visitors. Teacher may not want to do lesson with class of two.
20.05
8.35am FBG 6.3 late dinner with rice so expected higher this morning. Need coffee so not waiting for it to go down.
Lesson for two was great.
Lots more earth moving to the greenhouse and various containers around the garden. Had nearly finished when some friends turned up, with their visitors. Introductions and invitations etc.
I had decided to make stuffed tomatoes, the stuffing to be chopped hard boiled egg, onions and rice. ( one of the dishes the ukranians cooked used this stuffing and i really enjoyed it. Was trying to find a way for MrSlim to like it too. ) The rice had been fridged all day so should not have been disastrous for BG. If i could be restrained. But by the time everything was cooked it was 9pm. I nowlnow if cooking stuffed tomatoes they need to be ripe enough and the filling needs to be hot. The excess stuffing is calling to me from the fridge, even now. More coffee and i am out
of here. Still lots to do in the greenhouse and garden. But am hoping to have most of the really heavy work finished today.

Mmhh. ...must try that .
Cheers @SlimLizzy

Incidentally been trying stuffed aubergine. (BBC recipes)

Halve & scoop out aubergine 'meat'....leaving a good bit in shell to retain a firm shape .
Cover skin in olive oil, tin foil over top of aubergine & bake in oven 20 mins
Meanwhile cook mince, onions, add scraped out aubergine & spices etc

Take out aubergine, fill shell with mix, (popped grated cheese on top of ours ) put back in oven 15 mins uncovered

Serve with fresh salad, etc

Easy & very tasty

Off to Greece next week (Lesbos)
My first holiday in 3 years....so looking forward to it I couldn't wait for the taste of Greek food .haha

Morning all from a shorts, no socks L.A. Set like this for a few days thanks be to God. 5.3 first swipe here. Disappointing but nearly 1.5 hrs later than recent trend time for waking so excellent sleep score probably offset that. Currently rediscovering lemon tea (real not powdered).
Feedbaqck on shortbread was gratifying. Seems I haven't lost my touch. Pity I can't eat it myself any more but then, I always have baked to enjoy watching everyone else enjoying it.
Fantastic news.
This week I have discovered and my Food Fairy has made suitable Gaucamole, L/C sweet and sour sauce (7/8 year quest) and keto Moussaka. :) Have a great day, make your own discoveries

The leaves are used to sweeten rhubarb. I also eat the seeds @dunelm
Here one link

Edit : Just one thing, and I am sure you know all about this...don't pick what you think is sweet Cicely from the hedgerow, because so many flowers are similar.
I got mine initially in a seed packet from a herb place.
It self seeds easily....

Good morning everyone on a bright and sunny start here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.2 this morning. Didn’t post yesterday - the day just took over and on and on and on. Is it fun running (staggering) in the rain with a three year old - of course it is. Hood up, welly boots on. Mrs Miggins managed to pick up a bolt in one of the tyres on her car. Not a disaster - safely got it plugged. £30 - the fortune I could have made plugging motorcycle tyres for people. Art bit - so far, so good. Have a day of marvel (other beverages available). I shall choose koffy.
