What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

6.6 after filling in forms and phone calls from council, social services, and so on.
Assessment on offer for a lot of issues. Friday afternoon for the social.
Haven't got over yesterday's trauma, the better half has been oblivious in her pit for most of it, I cooked her tea, then rhubarb crumble as a treat! Lashings of tea! And I hope she is alright later for having enough rest for another doctors appointment tomorrow.
A beautiful sunny morning on the peninsula, but is now clouding over, rain in forecast again. Lancs cricket on YouTube, as I write this. No plans today! But things out of my control will obviously intervene!

Have a lovely day.
A while before anyone realised that Tom had a form of dementia, his behaviour was very odd and it was stressful for everyone - except him; he thought things were perfectly normal. DIL gave me a mug with the inscription "I have one nerve left - and you're getting on it!" In a fairly short time really - dementia was confirmed after quite a lot of bizarre behaviour and, somehow that explanation made it better, because we understood what it was all about. But it is stressful, particularly when the victim is someone you love and are determined to support, whatever.

Just put it down to autocorrect. Your octogenarian club is joined today by the first born of Basil Fanshawe (Joe). and Eva formerly of Dartford. Wild horses wouldn't drag his name out of me not even for brown sugar in my coffee with a side of cake (what, I can't suck it and see if I like it?) which gave me sticky fingers, served by Angie. Hold the goat's head soup though :)
Ooh! Mannish water, it’s all the rage you know dahlings.

I have spent three hours this morning filling out an online form for caring from the council. I found it very frustrating, some stupid questio questions that had to be answered or you couldn't move on etc. New passwords, so annoying! No wonder my fasting is up!
Why do you have to fill a form for everything?
by now, it should be automatically done on your own computer! Madness!
The questions don't make sense always...
I still feel weary from yesterday's efforts.....
But the good news is my application has been approved @Lamont D

A private physio gets paid, an NHS physio gets paid. And it should be done as treatment regardless. I just hope it works for you mate, I know that having good physio is so i important to your general health. I have to say since my arthritis took hold, the varying exercises to help have been very good.
Pain management is as crucial and I would ask for some help with that.
Take care mate you'll be doing marathons by Christmas! Or is it fell running. Tried it once! No more!

My best wishes mate
Thanks Lamont.
Fell running! The Fell runner Billy Teasdale MBE worked as a handyman at the transmitter I worked at. He had won the Grasmere Sports on a number of occasions. When he was in his sixties he would still run across the fell from his home in Caldbeck to Sandale Fell and back if it snowed hard.
When he was a shepherd he never had to train.
We were permanently pulling each others legs with banter. He would call me a big bog trotter cos of where I come from and my size, he was very small and wiry but maintained he was of Viking origin.
D.

Full of admiration for your love and care you show your wife. Take the very best care of yourself. I have a soft spot for Lancs due to a certain Clive Hubert Lloyd - what a guy.
Imagine his 20-20 hitting!
High!lights for me, was Gillette cup 1968(?) Winning run in complete dark.
Been a few times to Old Trafford, to watch all forms and used to enjoy the games at Liverpool cricket club.
Pity the rain intervened this afternoon!

Thanks Lamont.

Reminds me of other extreme athletes that just keep running for hours and hours and hours, never mind marathons!
And the stupid fact that they walk to maintain fitness!
Love the lakes! Keswick is Mrs L's favourite place.

I could write a book about my anxiety levels over what is likely to happen! But as always through my life, I will battle away find ways to make it more acceptable way to live. If that means being aware of the harsh realities of dementia, then bring it on.
Until I cannot, it will be my job in life to do what I can.

Her new blister packs have arrived. But I would suspect that there could be more changes, when the tests are finally done and the required changes are introduced.
It is now a daily routine of ensuring she gets her meds. I can't let her do it now!

It does seem we have nearly reached a pinnacle, a peak of her life changing decisions and I pray (not religious) that I am worthy of her trust in me!

Tomorrow will be a better day, if it stops raining! The heating is back on! It is feeling very cold on the Irish sea coast!is
Global warming ha!

Good morning everyone on yet another damp squib of a start to this weeks International Bin Day double dipper here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.1 on the Stabo-meter. Lots of shopping completed yesterday but it’s M&S today. My pal (age 69) went out for a ‘little run’ when we returned from shopping - about 8 miles. I was exhausted just thinking about it. I used to run maybe 10 half marathons a year into my 40’s but he was on the international circuit and is still involved with the Amateur Athletic Association. Peanut butter biscuits, will this recipe Work. Art bit, moving along, brick by brick. Hope you can find a chunk of joy in your day. Pub tonight but first, some lofty.

7.7 at 4.30 this morning. Gradual rise to 11.5 now (8.15). On my 4th cup of tea but will have to do something about BG sometime soon - probably insulin and eat.

Rebandaging day today. I'll be glad about that because the ones that were put on last week have been slipping and I have flapping bandage ends over my toes. This is not unusual - it all depends on how the nurse applies the bandages.

Not as cold here this morning as it was yesterday but there is no sun. The sky is just greyish white all over. Small breeze.

I remember reading about my 2nd great grandfather a certain William Thomas Green he was the piper to the Duke and Dutchess of Northumberland for fourty years he would often walk 60 odd miles to perform at various venues and once walked from Rothbury to Alnwick over the moor through a blizzard I wish I had inherited his hardiness and maybe some of his determination.

My fbg this morning was Libre 4.9 finger prick 5.6

Good happy national bin day Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and those who are waiting patiently in airport departure lounges for the next travel oriented strike. Luckily for me, me’s and myself we are stuck in Tilehurst Towers.

Blood sugars this morning were 4.8, whoops calculations were required and completed.

Today is not a total unknown, but fine tuning will be necessary. Hopefully some wood working will be carried out, gluing and screwing, then a pleasant lunch with some friends and a lot later an afternoon nap, yippee.

Anyone who cared to read my posting yesterday about the religious zealots who inhabit the centre of Reading on a Wednesday afternoon might be wondering what happened.
Well as usual, I was accosted by a nice lady who tried to give me some sort of literature, needless to say she was unsuccessful, I was polite and brought a smile to her face as I asked her who was in charge, she pointed out a man saying that’s Malcolm, I proceeded to take Malcolm to one side and asked him in future not bother me. Ahh it seems Malcolm’s sole purpose on a Wednesday is to have as many arguments with as many people as possible, he was out of luck with me me’s and myself I just walked off leaving him ranting and raving. Such a fine advertisement for his organisation.

Remember you need 9 fingers on one hand to play the cord of Hb minor or a length of lead pipe and just belt the keyboard.

Stay safe all

Good morning all from a drizzly L.A.. which is doing sterling work greening up my freshly mown front lawn cum #1 son's parking spot :banghead: @dunelm enjoy the loft, M and S (if you go) and pub. Thank you for sharing the structure and PB recipe. I'll stay with my kg tub and spoon recipe though. On waking The Little Guy ™ informed dad he wanted Move IT at Granddad's. Within 30 seconds of entering here he sat on me and said Move it please:D Move it is the film/animation Madagascar. The grace of God is very easy to miss if one overthinks things: the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom. Four grandchildren here today as part of an extended fifth birthday spectacular so Bazball will not be on the big screen. @Annb I hope the new bandage is better for you. Enjoy your day, I'll soldier on through mine despite sweet n sour pork stir fry with caulirice. Sometimes one just has to take one for the team:D

There is a coherence in this universe of change and decay governed by the laws of
thermodynamics.
A working hypothesis is the recent heart attack and being a card carrying over 80 but check with a friendly GP. Do you have access to one?
Absolutely but I am not going to mention it when she's away and coming up next week for an overnight stay before they go to the Fringe at Edinburgh.
Can't get see a GP at the surgery here nowadays.
Best wishes
Derek

I'll have a go with those peanut butter biscuits @dunelm

Art structure is looking good.

I have finally realised that correcting her, is now just a waste of time. Forgetfulness about my lactose intolerance, wheat intolerance, carb intolerance is something her misrememberitis can't cope with!
That is so hard @Lamont D . We looked after both Mr K's parents when they had dementia. I remember asking permission to wash their clothes and when they refused to let me I felt I couldn't go against their wishes. Why on earth didn't I just take their clothes and wash them - they wouldn't have noticed.

Just taken the duchess shopping to Lidl but I am knackered today, I know not why I have not done very much.
D.
I get that for an inexplicable reason, yet the next day I have my normal ( which isn't much, but better that no energy at all). You'll probably be fine for your energy tomorrow @lindisfel
