@Annb you are definitely not a wimp.I did try that, but had to stop. It was too painful. Wimp! That's me.

You must have thought of that bicolour guy playing a pipe who filled the Weser with rats?Thank you @gennepher. Yes, nothing like setting up a bow wave by driving too fast. I once drove a land rover off a landing craft at Scapa Flow (after waterproofing the engine and sticking a one way valve on the exhaust) - think salt water swimming but with a big surprise. Most interesting was driving my armored personnel carrier across the River Weser in Germany - get across before the ferry comes round the bend.
It’s a growing issue and the chances of anything like the Icelandic approach are currently standing at zero. When we elect people to make decisions and there are not penalties for bad ones, what can we expect. There have been numerous mentions of just this issue. Chances of anything like the Icelandic approach .....????
The place where the crossing exercises took place was quite near Hameln. They have a smashing clock there in the town square. You must have thought of that bicolour guy playing a pipe who filled the Weser with rats?

Thank you so much @Krystyna23040Yes, definitely lovely artwork just as it is @gennepher
Yep, those little landslides/land slips can be pesky @dunelm I encountered one driving down some minor roads in Wales down to Bristol. There were fixed road sign warnings...a few stones tumbled into the road in front of me. Slammed car in reverse, but cars behind me, so I am reversing on the other side of the road...the initial car behind me must have thought I was a madman, and carried on driving forwards...and hey presto, landslide over his car. It mostly just got his bonnet and stopped him going forwards. There were other cars behind that car...Good morning everyone on what promises to be a pleasant day on the weather front here in the dark and dangerous north. Oh dear - 6.1 this am - home goal! We caught the bus to Whitby yesterday. Takes just over an hour. £2 for Mrs Miggins and free for me because I am a card carrying nuisance. So, fish and chips - what could possibly go wrong? Return journey was interesting. The bus could not go round several of the villages as the recent rain had damaged a big section of road (cracks appearing at the top of a steep bank). Wonder if they were there when we made the outward journey? Whispers of grass cutting on the wind but I think that it may still be too wet. Art bit, plodding along. Hope you find something that gives you a smile in your day. I shall start with some koffy.

Perhaps then, we should try for a benign dictatorship. Unfortunately, I don't think dictators have a good record at maintaining their benign attitude. It’s a growing issue and the chances of anything like the Icelandic approach are currently standing at zero. When I got married in 1962 for most it was expected to be for life.Morning all on a pleasant start to the day here. Dry and bright if not too exciting temperature wise. This post may be more error strewn than normal as The Lionesses need advice from both myself and The Duchess. @lindisfel I had previously liked the sound of Dylan but now I know his team I've cooled somewhatSad news about your school friend and his wife but as you say perhaps for the best. My parents, also married for 60 years, both died on the same day which I always feel is a blessing in all the circumstances. @Annb hug for whatever is causing the pain. @dunelm 6.1 isn't too bad and I'm sure the F and C were divine daahling, divine. Thanks for sharing the art and surely the grass needs to bed in a little longer? Must go, Serena looks to be struggling but do have a good day everyone.
This is an interesting analysis of why that group vote for The Donald. I've also read a good analysis that suggests the "enlightened" over played their hand with comments such as Hilary's basket of deplorables. DJT is more* opaque than the AntiChrist imho - he is just a grifter, admittedly on a big scale. (Lionesses are through but so lucky. Need to teach the men how to win penalty shoot outs). When I got married in 1962 for most it was expected to be for life.
How it soon changed and the world is much less committed and would not be surprised by any Profumo scandal.
No one would expect, particularly white evangelicals in America, to be championing idiot politicians like they are. I know some others who think the man named after a greenhouse gas will be the coming AntiChrist.

Hope the travel, parking and appointment go well. Some reading for you while you are waiting or just use the image as a summary. Peace be with you both.Off to Carlisle Hospital this pm taking the Duchess for an appointment.
Hope I can get parked in the disabled park else it will be a walk up the hill and very little room for a tall stiff old man to get in and out an Octavia in the small spaces.
Will work round it as usual.

It concerns me when I read of their desires there is no concern for the stewardship of the planet in their calculations.Hope the travel, parking and appointment go well. Peace be with you both. Some reading for you while you are waiting or just use the image as a summary
