What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen.

Blood sugars this morning were a stress induced 7. something. It is of no consequence.

Today is big day, it is 31 years since I lay on on an operating table and had a liver transplant, but and it is most important that I remember the young man who died and his family donated his organs so others may live. Without their courage and selflessness I would not have seen my children grow up and have children themselves. I cannot thank them enough.

Now stay safe all.
a good deal to be thankful for. Have a great day.

Good morning all from L.A. where 3 infants have decided to take advantage of JKP. @dunelm thanks for sharing the art. Enjoy the folk festival and with that fbg some street food would probably be ok. @lindisfel "new" potatoes in mid August? a fen born chap shouldn't fall for that one. If you can't scrape the skins with your finger they ain't new. @alf_Josiah winner and hug for that post it does you great credit.
They taste a lot better than supermarket potatoes. I can't give up on some carbs I would never get to the closet.:)

A farmer friend of ours was on a mission to stop retailers labelling potatoes as new when they were anything but. Every time we met him conversation somehow ended up there. His strawberries remain the best I have ever tasted, including home grown and the spiffing M and S ones this season. Enjoy the potatoes and we'll settle on new season main crop. Deal? :D Entertainment today will struggle to top a 5 year old trying to teach her 4 year old cousin some ballet: you might want to watch this

It's afternoon already. Been quite a non existant day so far. That's because I took painkillers before bed last night. BG dropped during the night (2 am) and my Libre alarm went off so I had to do something about that. Slept another 2 hours and woke up desperately stiff and sore. Couldn't move for a while and even then it was a painful experience. Got through to the kitchen and took painkillers. That made me go back to sleep for another couple of hours. Still couldn't move. Another couple of hours - more painkillers. More sleep.

So here we are. 1 pm. I have had breakfast after insulin to get 10.6 BG down a bit. 3 cups of tea. There's lots to be done to clear up after yesterday's day loss to the dishwasher saga. Give Neil his due - he got the dishwasher going again. He eventually had to strip down all of the workings of the machine. Took him all afternoon, after we got back from the clinic for my legs. Finally put it all back together and got it working about 9 pm. This was all done in the middle of the kitchen floor and there was no way to get around the room.

I needed to make my meal then and was struggling to get around. I think Neil was struggling as well by then, having spent much of the evening laying on the wet floor to get to the bottom of the dishwasher. He tidied his tools away, put the machine back in its place and disappeared. There was a pile of cardboard which had been pulled out from behind the waste bin (sits alongside the dishwasher in a little nook). Don't know how it all got there, but there it was. It got shoved aside under the table and it's still there, waiting to be cut up and put into the compost box (just an old cardboard box to hold cut up cardboard, ready to go out in the organic recycling bin). That job has to be done now, before the table can be pulled back into position.

The second lot of painkillers have made a difference - pain is still there but the edge has gone so I will at least get the cardboard cut up and out of the way. If I can do that, I'll award myself a winner.

A friend came and cut my grass today it doesn't take him long so I went outside and we had a good chat before he went
Our site is very private with no adjoining properties just fields between us and the next properties.
Although its sunny the wind has got up now and the trees are moving a lot in the strong breeze.

The wind had been a nuisance keeping the heat at bay!

6.0 this morning, I am late on parade, but this is why.
Mrs L was adamant to get out, seeing that it was a beautiful morning.
we went to town and went first to butchers for some provisions.
Then to a entertainment shop, and I picked up more trek dvds on offer, a bargain saving £20.
That is a strange statement!
How can you save an amount of cash, when you spend it?
Anywho, I treated the boss to some nice ear rings.
We had a wonderful piece of cod from the chippy there, I had a bit of batter, couldn't resist!
Got a few items from the baker for her and a few cakes for the kids.
We arrived home as the young grandkids and my youngest arrived and also missing my middle son, who was picking up his birthday stuff.
We had a windy play in the garden, and Mrs L tried to keep up with the toddler who is at that age, to find and play with everything he shouldn't!
Another couple of hours, feeling really tired, I sat down and fell asleep.
So as I was woken up, I thought that I felt a little bit weirder than I have been, so I tested again, it was 4.7!
Obviously thinking a rogue reading, I texted again, different finger 4.5!
So I waited another half hour, to see if I was going into hypoglycaemia. It was the time about if I had the reaction of too much insulin, so the reading was 5.1!
So without delay, I had my ham shank! Delicious! Wonderful! So much meat!
I feel fine now!
Belly full now!
Must have been symptoms of a false hypo????
Will have to be careful!
I might test later on, if I can resist the rest of the ham!
Resistance is futile! It's the Borg!

TGIF! Enjoy your weekend!

Fbg 6.8

The little robin in my garden, which I said was tail less, has now obviously started to grow new fluffy tail feathers. So I googled about robin losing its tail feathers, and apparently after Mr Robin has finished bringing up his babies, he goes into the summer moult, and robins actually lose their tail feathers in the summer moult. This is normal. I have never noticed this before....

Wildlife trail cameras.
A night of Cats & Badgers & a grumpy cat called Midnight..

Creative...still working on new painting ideas, so in the meantime a fairy from my back garden. One of those J bought me, but he used to put them in the back garden without telling me...and I would wonder what was different...

Have a good day. Hopefully a bit cooler today...

Good morning everyone on a breezy start to my Saturday here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.1 on scales of change. Folk Festival was a bit mild when we wandered into town yesterday morning so we are hoping that today will be a bit more on point; bells, clacking sticks, accordions and other annoying sounds. Can we please have Clifton Chenier, the king of zydeco, singing Catfish Pie. Oh, and some clogging. Art bit, color added. Hope everyone has a smashing day, @jjraak - hope you are well and dipping in every now and again. Best make koffy.

Morning all on a sunny start to Saturday in L.A. which is always welcome especially in an indifferent summer. @dunelm thank you for sharing the art, enjoy the folk festival part ii. @gennepher thanks for sharing that amazing creative. Hopefully you can have cooler weather and we here can have the celestial thermostat turned slightly higher - 30ish will do me. @Krystyna23040 hug for the busy day but winner for fbg and imminent break. @dunelm good call on @jjraak which also brings back memories of Harrison and Muddycyclist to name but two. Hopes are high for the Lionesses, less so for Borthwick's band of butterfingered hoof it and hope misfits. No, I will not become ianpBayernMunich. Have a happening day: just tune in and turn on.

Thanks @ianpspurs

Morning to each and everyone.
6.1, so it is stabilising, but I fear yesterday was a little bit too much, and I feel a bit tired, neck tight and muscles won't relax much! Was gonna do bits in garden before rain arrives, we'll see!
Chores done. Putting me feet up for the footie later!

Afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen and those that played hopscotch in their youth, rode bicycles with no hands and climbed trees, oh and went scrumping.

Blood sugars this morning were 5.7

We are spending precious time with Mrs J’s family, Mrs J is very happy, she has seen some new additions the newest is 10 months old, one couple are celebrating 60 years of marriage this year. The rest of the family fit somewhere in between.

My function at the these meetings is to smile sweetly, speak when spoken to, say the absolute minimum and break wind discreetly.

This afternoon could be quiet or incredibly rowdy I have no idea, all will be revealed in the fullness of time, but first an afternoon nap is required.

Stay safe all
