What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

6.3 this morning. Really pleased with that as we ate late and I didn't do my usual 10 minute walk after dinner last night because of the rain.

Am feeling so lazy - probably because it is the start of half term. Dogs are snoring so they are feeling lazy also.

Will update my packing list before I start packing as we are going to Orford tomorrow for a relaxing couple of days. Of course Mr K has already done his packing. Probably only took him 10 minutes.

6.4 at 3.15 am. Still tired but hips were so very painful I had to get up and move around a bit. Also took painkillers. Didn't work very well but now - more than 8 hours later - it has come to an acceptable level. :happy:

DIL and Em got home yesterday evening. Haven't seen them yet and fully expect them both to be sleeping in until tomorrow at the earliest. Alistair is holding the fort with the laundry as well as dong his own job at the moment.

Neil has got the dishwasher working again but doesn't expect it to last - there seems to be a leak from somewhere he can't reach which fills the base of the machine and stops the pump working. I was thinking of suggest drilling a hole in the base to let water drip out, but we would probably end up with a constantly flooding floor, so probably not a good idea. I'll have to see if I can find a repair shop anywhere within reach. In fact, I think the shop in town where Neil probably bought it will repair their own goods. He says he can't remember where he bought it. It could have been one of the supermarkets and they don't do repairs.

Dogs mimic their humans, they know what's the best way to manipulate us.

I remember the time when one was not allowed to go onto Orford Ness.

Morning all on what may be the only dry, bright or sunny day hereabouts until the 30th - or the forecasts could be wrong. Hugs for the white goods issues @lindisfel and @Annb. Our (black and silver) white goods are covered by a company who also service the vacuum cleaners and clean the ovens. Yes, that is something many budgets can't manage and I'm aware of God's grace over that. @lindisfel Dylan may be doing the right thing for his future according to this. @Lamont D wonderful thing you did with all that coaching. Good coaching makes a difference. Sport does help some students just to keep turning up. I took over a team previously coached by Roy Hodgson - they were rather good :D . @Annb hug for the hip pain and I hope the dishwasher can be fixed. @Krystyna23040 enjoy Orford but do hurry up with the packing. What is a packing list all about? :D @gennepher thanks for sharing the creative - Babet influenced? Enjoy the day as much as possible but never lie to yourself - some days really are awful.

Good afternoon from a sunny day here in French Froggy France. More batch cooking yesterday so now the chest freezer is full. Lovely walk through the park and down the tow path with mum this morning. We called in at a cafe for koffy before heading back for lunch. I have a parcel to make up this afternoon to take to the post office in the morning and post to myself as I don’t have room in my bag. Art bit, a rock with a house on it. A couple of pictures from this morning; mum on her red dalek looking at a Gingko tree in the park and a view across the river towards town. Hope you are all sheltered from the storm. No koffy this afternoon but a nap may be in order.

Well done, getting that freezer full of meals. And thanks for the pictures. The dalek looks like a useful piece of SciFi. Must make quite a difference to your mum. The house perched on the edge of a cliff looks pretty precarious.

Your mum looks very comfortable on the red Dalek and the area looks very green and pleasant. Your parents must be pleased with the meals in the freezer. Thanks for sharing the litle house on Craggy McCraggyface.
 
6.6. On this lovely late October morning. But cool, but sun trying to warm things up!

Nos 7 & 8 paid a visit and cheered me up.
Got a roast on, just meat, to watch cook for a few days. Chicken and gammon joint.

Good Afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen and those who cried into their beer when England lost that game yesterday.

Blood sugars this morning were 5.5, what they are now is a mystery and will remain so.

Here in Tilehurst Towers we have had some truly awful days, but bitter experience has taught that their is always a little ray of sunshine, it may take a little finding, but a positive attitude helps get you through the darkness.

Now if no one minds I am forgoing my afternoon nap and continue pruning my apple trees, cutting back the brambles, ivy and sycamore shoots.

I was going to do the same pruning in my front garden, but from nowhere this head cold and runny nose and sore throat knocked me sideways, and so I am now snuggled into a brand new soft blanket @alf_Josiah

Enjoy the pruning although it is probably two to five months early for apple trees according to the fruit growers. @gennepher hug for the head cold but plenty of time to rest up then prune.
