What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

6.3 this sunny but really freezing in that wind.
But hugs for @Annb.

The longest prom in England is around the wirral, there are many YouTube videos of it if you are interested, I was born within spitting distance of the ferry terminal at Seacombe.

Have had a unusually quiet day, relaxing doing my jigsaw.
Just the essential chores and usual cooking and such.

So not much to report.

My best wishes to you all as always!

Enjoy the room service, but avoid the food mate.
best wishes.

do they ever know what is going on?

Don’t know about room service had to make my own bed food not too bad as long as you forget about diabetes as the hospital seems to have done one of first questions are you diabetic answer yes then let’s check blood sugar that was this morning not mentioned since.

I want to go home

At least you know it's made properly...lol.

Just got to go with the flow John.
Eat as well as you can, given the menu choices.

Soon be home .
One night gone already, almost .

Good morning everyone on quite a cold start to the day here in the dar and dangerous north. The ‘K’ key on my stick on IPad keyboard has decided to play awkward and needs a hefty smack each time it is selected. I will adapt, I will overcome. My touch typing is not what it used to be. Still would rather have a four bank Imperial than all these new fangled electronic keyboards - where can I get a mechanical IPad? Any comptometer operators out there With a stick on screen :bag:? Kefir - I used to make my own but it was a guess as to how it turned out each day. I lost the grains when we moved house - I froze them and they just went walkabout as some things do when moving house. Art bit - some paint mixed up and spread on a bit of wet wallpaper backing paper. @JohnEGreen hope your hospital stay is a short and successful one and everyone has a pleasant day. I need koffy and probably a shower.

Morning all from a chilly but dry and calm L.A. The last few days have been a reminder that winter isn't over though Saturday was very spring like. @JohnEGreen hug for the stay over, especially the diabetic unfriendly food situation but the big picture is all about sorting the problem for you. @dunelm thanks for sharing the art which reminds me of a painting of a London scene by someone so famous I've forgotten their name. @gennepher thank you for sharing that magical kaleidoscope. @Krystyna23040 6 minutes is impressive and apologies if I seemed to be dismissive. Are you still able to source organic milk locally? If one made all 4 Ks it would take some time and space. Many kefirs have "interesting" transit effects so I buy Biotiful with protein.. @Annb I hope you can access a doctor today. #2 granddaughter (5 yo) is having her long locks cut today to donate to wigs for children who have lost theirs and raising a good sum as well - at least £750+. Two grandchildren after school/childminder today - the Little Guy and his Big Sister. Sunday's roast chicken with them very much heaven in ordinaire. I really like this week's sonnets and poems - hope some of you do. I love all my grandchildren but time with these two is even more special for some obvious reasons. The Little Guy was in intensive care at a month old and is very much a granddad's boy and mum and dad aren’t together. Peace be with you all.

Tried to get a GP to phone, but could only get a nurse. She has just called back and says she'll talk to a GP at a lunchtime meeting and get back to me this afternoon. Some action anyway.

BG was great yesterday - in the 5's pretty well all day - apart from a blip first thing in the morning. I foolishly thought I could take liberties, which didn't lead to BG rising for the following 4 hours, but by the time I went to bed it had jumped to the 10's. By this morning it was 9.3. Now 9.4. Only tea so far, but I know that shoves the figure up, so not too concerned.

Speaking to the nurse sounds a little more promising so hopefully you may see action this day. @dunelm this is the sort of thing your art brought to mind. Didn't Dire Straits pen a ditty about him? Were they lewcle lairds - well from the D and D? Lyrics Genn. Also appropriate that I referenced George Herbert today as the C of E commemorate him Feb 27th.

Just had an e-mail from my friend, who takes me to gatherings in her car, to tell me that there is such an event taking place this afternoon and she will pick me up at 5.15. Can I bring something savoury with me that the T2 lady who won't touch wheat but does eat other carbs can have? No problem, I replied. I have a large dish of something suitable in the freezer. I'll get that out. Went to the freezer and, could I find it? The aluminium foil trays I thought contained it, were labelled chicken thighs and chicken drumsticks. I must have given the vegggie dish to Alistair. So, this is an opportunity to use the frozen broccoli and frozen cauli I have been wanting to use up, now that I can't eat them. Having to use my imagination to see what I'm going to make with them - something with lots of vegetables and maybe some split peas. Cheese is probably not on, because some of those there are nearer to vegan and don't have milk products. Come on creativity ... where are you? I'll work it out as I go along - bit of this, bit of that, some spices and herbs. It'll be fine as long as I can stand up long enough to do the prep.

Yes, to make all the Ks would be horrifically time consuming and I would dread to think of just how much kitchen space that would take up. I use Yeo Valley organic milk from our local Tesco which seems to work well.

I love these colours a lot @dunelm
And the whole painting...

Thanks for the lyrics Ian...

Brilliant @Annb

Afternoon all and sundry, hmmm wonder what that means? Perhaps google it later.

Blood sugars this morning were firstly 3.7 then less than a minute later 4.1, yippee, oh goody I countered this with 2 jelly babies and then a toasted jam sandwich. 20 minutes later I felt ok, no shakes. I haven’t taken my blood sugars since and don’t intend to till this evening.
Me, me’s and myself really like toasted jam sandwiches, but only have them when I suffer with low blood sugars. Shame.

The rest ov ( my new way ov spelling of ) this afternoon will be spent obeying the infamous Mrs J , probably moving furniture, O I do hope not, but who knows…

Being ov a technical nature and not ov a literary nature the intricacies ov the written language defeat me, me me’s and self are in a constant source ov wonder. Now I really must end this posting before I offend the literate.

Tat tar fore now or then.
