No FBG today
Today is the day for Plage de Carolles.
It's where we were with the girls when unexpectedly early arrival of baby no 4 was announced.
Today baby is going to that same beach for a first birthday treat. BBQ chez moi after.
Have managed to persuade the slowly recovering MrSlim to make a short visit to the beach. Have been going out with the family sometimes but really dislike leaving MrSlim on his own while we go out and have fun.

Creative...playing with some Kuratake brush pens...I chose 3 colours at random, and just scribbled a bit...this was on cartridge paper. I'll try something similar on Bristol Board tomorrow...which is smoother and less absorbent. I also found out you cannot add water to the paper once you have laid the ink down, which is what I was expecting to do (because I could do with my very old 25-30 year old Kuratake brush pens, which still work and I still use), but the picture shows you can dip these coloured brush pens in water to get a more faded line wash. The problem with this, is that the water you dip the coloured brush pen in leaches the paint out of the brush pen, and in addition ( but it might not do it with this new brush pen because it is a solid barrel that holds the ink, whereas my old Kuratake brush pens were a squeezy barrel and sucked up water if you squoze slightly, then it intakes water, thus diluting the intense colours of the ink).
Okay, that is more than you wanted to know, 5 minutes you won't get back in your life...but important to me!

You must have got my promised rain for today...afraid it is too warm for me today @lindisfel

..cutting down some of the rain forest in my front garden. It is now piled up in my front garden...and it doesn't look as though I have cut much at all. But if I had a garden wheelie, it would fill it. But I don't...I refuse to pay those exorbitant fees. The badgers rummage through what I have cut, eating the bugs etc on the leaves and branches, and within a few days I wonder where my pile of garden rubbish has gone, it's been broken up and flattened by the badgers. Badgers can be useful.....

EDIT The temperature outside the bungalow and the temperature inside the bungalow are exactly the same...

The sweat is running off my face. I keep doing a little odd job, then it's me collapsed on the bed again...it's now 3:30 pm...surely it has got to get cooler outside...

Thank you for sharing another wonderful creative and explaining some of the mysteries of how you work - no time wasted here. I learned this

No use to me just now but could be one day. Plenty of shades of brown so something worked. Shame about no rain but good news on your washing drying and hopefully more to come. Those badgers may defray the cost of their damage by saving on garden waste bin fees. Take it easy if you are sweating, may be too humid? 25 outside and 24.8 where the Hive thermostat is here - just ok for me, no need for a thermal top at that level but we are all different.

Lots of different types of paper and board to paint on. All do different things.
But there's a lot more to learn.

It is too humid. I am going to lock up now, and shut windows. And make my bedroom cooler...

Tomorrow has lower temperatures early, and sun all day...according to the app. So I'd better be up early!!!

No FBG today, as it's be phone call, and chores, shop, more chores, phone calls and optician appointment this afternoon.
I'm sorry I went, my wallet has only the cobwebs left now.
I wear varifocals and my eyes have got worse especially reading with and a touch of cataracts, which has not got worse since first noticed before covid.
So new varifocals eek!
And a pair of reading glasses for the computer, cos I can't use the critical on my main computer. Where I do my shopping, my jigsaws, my accounts, tax etc.
All in all, a good deal I think, but as the boss doesn't know yet, I could have an issue!!!!!

The promised rainy day didn't happen till I came out the opticians and missed the bus.And
Got a tad dampish.
Cos I walked it!
I know, I wasn't waiting around in the rain in the rain!
It hasn't stopped since.
First time out long kecks on for months.

Kitchen duties call.

Despite the leaching, a good result - can you use a water brush to wet where the fading goes and then paint up to it and somehow encourage a bit of flow? Age old issues of controlling water which does not always cooperate I find.
 
I don't have a creative bone in my body but today our grandchildren have made raspberry and chocolate muffins with JKP and, with help from some adults, did this. Back to learning Koiné Greek for them tomorrow :playful: There may be a Sharkdog break for the 3 year old now Netflix has stopped an infinite loop because JKP is soft as whatsit with them.

6.4 this morning.
We are back home after our lovely break at the Westleton Crown.

The highlight of today was visiting Thorpeness and walking around the Mere.
Or perhaps it was sitting outside a cafe overlooking the Mere with a lovely cup of coffee and a cornet with a delicious scoop of salted caramel ice cream.

Tomorrow I will be very strictly back on the straight and narrow.
 
We were notified today of the date for Judith’s sisters funeral unfortunately Adrian can’t attend because he has to go to Rome for general council of the Order and he could only get out of it if it were a funeral of an immediate family member he will be in Rome for several weeks and I believe an audience with the Pope may be involved.

Especially when it's drawn out for hours. It should be a celebration.

He may get to meet the Pope he is not sure this thing he is going to is a one in a lifetime event and not all the brothers get to do it well he said it’s normally a once in a lifetime but if you get to go a second time it’s normally because they have some in his words **** job lined up for you but he is looking foreword to having a look inside the Vatican.
Not looking foreword to the funeral have attended far too many for my liking but the venue if that is right word is where Judith’s mum and dad and her grandfather’s funerals took place so we have the sort of consolation that Jennifer will be laid to rest with her mum and dad and granddad.
